  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) models are a powerful tool for preserving and using architectural history. Manually creating information models for such a significant number and variety of architectural monuments as Dong drum towers is challenging. The building logic based on "actual measurement construction" was investigated using the metamodel idea, and a metamodel-based automated modeling approach for the wood framework of Dong drum towers was presented utilizing programmable algorithms. Metamodels of fundamental frame kinds were also constructed. Case studies were used to verify the automated modeling's correctness, completeness, and efficiency using metamodel. The results suggest that, compared to manual modeling, automated modeling using metamodel may enhance the model's integrity and correctness by 5-10% while also reducing time efficiency by 10-20%. Metamodel and construction logic offer a novel way to investigate data-driven autonomous information-based modeling.

  • Multistage amplifiers have become appropriate choices for high-speed electronics and data conversion. Because of the large number of high-impedance nodes, frequency compensation has become the biggest challenge in the design of multistage amplifiers. The new compensation technique in this study uses two differential stages to organize feedforward and feedback paths. Five Miller loops and a 500-pF load capacitor are driven by just two tiny compensating capacitors, each with a capacitance of less than 10 pF. The symbolic transfer function is calculated to estimate the circuit dynamics and HSPICE and TSMC 0.18 ㎛. CMOS technology is used to simulate the proposed five-stage amplifier. A straightforward iterative approach is also used to optimize the circuit parameters given a known cost function. According to simulation and mathematical results, the proposed structure has a DC gain of 190 dB, a gain bandwidth product of 15 MHz, a phase margin of 89°, and a power dissipation of 590 ㎼.

  • As a part of Load and Resistance Factor Design(LRFD) code development in Korea, in this paper an intensive reliability analysis was performed to evaluate reliability levels of the two static bearing capacity methods for driven steel pipe piles adopted in Korean Standards for Structure Foundations by the representative reliability methods of First Order Reliability Method(FORM) and Monte Carlo Simulation(MCS). The resistance bias factors for the two static design methods were evaluated by comparing the representative measured bearing capacities with the design values. In determination of the representative bearing capacities of driven steel pipe piles, the 58 data sets of static load tests and soil property tests were collected and analyzed. The static bearing capacity formula and the Meyerhof method using N values were applied to the calculation of the expected design bearing capacity of the piles. The two representative reliability methods(FORM, MCS) based computer programs were developed to facilitate the reliability analysis in this study. Mean Value First Order Second Moment(MVFOSM) approach that provides a simple closed-form solution and two advanced methods of FORM and MCS were used to conduct the intensive reliability analysis using the resistance bias factor statistics obtained, and the results were then compared. In addition, a parametric study was conducted to identify the sensibility and the influence of the random variables on the reliability analysis under consideration.

  • Energy conservation is an important issue in wireless networks, especially for self-organized, low power, low data-rate impulse-radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) networks, where every node is a battery-driven device. To conserve energy, it is necessary to turn node into sleep state when no data exist. This paper addresses the energy consumption analysis of Direct-Sequence (DS) versus Time-Hopping (TH) multiple accesses and two kinds of sleeping protocols (slotted and unslotted) in PHY-MAC for Un networks. We introduce an analytical model for energy consumption or a node in both TH and DS multiple accesses and evaluate the energy consumption comparison between them and also the performance of the proposed sleeping protocols. Simulation results show that the energy consumption per packet of DS case is less than TH case and for slotted sleeping is less than that of unslotted one for bursty load case, but with respect to the load access delay unslotted one consumes less energy, that maximize node lifetime.

  • Content-Centric Networking (CCN) is a new Internet architecture with routing and caching centered on contents. Through its receiver-driven and connectionless communication model, CCN natively supports the seamless mobility of nodes and scalable content acquisition. In-network caching is one of the core technologies in CCN, and the research of efficient caching scheme becomes increasingly attractive. To address the problem of unbalanced cache load distribution in some existing caching strategies, this paper presents a neighbor cooperation based in-network caching scheme. In this scheme, the node with the highest betweenness centrality in the content delivery path is selected as the central caching node and the area of its ego network is selected as the caching area. When the caching node has no sufficient resource, part of its cached contents will be picked out and transferred to the appropriate neighbor by comprehensively considering the factors, such as available node cache, cache replacement rate and link stability between nodes. Simulation results show that our scheme can effectively enhance the utilization of cache resources and improve cache hit rate and average access cost.

  • The Baekdu volcano (2,750 m a.s.l.) is located on the border between Yanggando Province in North Korea and Jilin Province in China. Its eruption in 946 A.D. was among the largest and most violent eruptions in the past 5,000 years, with a volcanic explosivity index (VEI) of 7. In this study, we processed and analyzed lahar-inundation hazard zone data, applying a geographic information system program with menu-driven software (LAHARZ)to a shuttle radar topography mission 30 m digital elevation model. LAHARZ can simulate inundation hazard zones created by large lahar flows that originate on volcano flanks using simple input parameters. The LAHARZ is useful both for mapping hazard zones and estimating the extent of damage due to active volcanic eruption. These results can be used to establish evacuation plans for nearby residents without field survey data. We applied two different simulation methods in LAHARZ to examine six water systems near Baekdu volcano, selecting weighting factors by varying the ratio of height and distance. There was a slight difference between uniform and non-uniform ratio changes in the lahar-inundation hazard zone maps, particularly as slopes changed on the east and west sides of the Baekdu volcano. This result can be used to improve monitoring of volcanic eruption hazard zones and prevent disasters due to large lahar flows.

  • The neutron powder diffractometer (NPD) is used to study a variety of technologically important and scientifically driven materials such as superconductors, multiferroics, catalysts, alloys, ceramics, cements, colossal magnetoresistance perovskites, magnets, thermoelectrics, zeolites, pharmaceuticals, etc. Monte Carlo-based codes are powerful tools to evaluate the neutronic behavior of the NPD. In the present study, MCNPX 2.6.0 and Vitess 3.3a codes were applied to simulate NPD facilities, which could be equipped with different optic devices such as pyrolytic graphite or neutron chopper. So, the Monte Carlo-based codes were used to simulate the NPD facility of the 5 MW Tehran Research Reactor. The simulation results were compared to the experimental data. The theoretical results showed good conformity to experimental data, which indicates acceptable performance of the Vitess 3.3a code in the neutron optic section of calculations. Another extracted result of this work shows that application of neutron chopper instead of monochromator could be efficient to keep neutron flux intensity higher than $10^6n/s/cm^2$ at sample position.

  • Recently, an on-chip compressed cache system was presented to alleviate the processor-memory Performance gap by reducing on-chip cache miss rate and expanding memory bandwidth. This research Presents an extended on-chip compressed cache system which also significantly expands main memory capacity. Several techniques are attempted to expand main memory capacity, on-chip cache capacity, and memory bandwidth as well as reduce decompression time and metadata size. To evaluate the performance of our proposed system over existing systems, we use execution-driven simulation method by modifying a superscalar microprocessor simulator. Our experimental methodology has higher accuracy than previous trace-driven simulation method. The simulation results show that our proposed system reduces execution time by 4-23% compared with conventional memory system without considering the benefits obtained from main memory expansion. The expansion rates of data and code areas of main memory are 57-120% and 27-36%, respectively.

  • This paper proposes a model to analyze the fault factors of air-to-ground weapon delivery utilizing software fault localization methods. In the previous study, to figure out the factors to affect the accuracy of air-to-ground weapon delivery, the FBEL (Factor-based Error Localization) method had been proposed and the fault factors were analyzed based on the method. But in the study, the correlation between weapon delivery accuracy and the fault factors could not be revealed because the firing accuracy among several factors was fixed. In this paper we propose a more precise fault analysis model driven through a study of the correlation among the fault factors of weapon delivery, and a method to estimate the possibility of faults with the limited number of test cases utilizing the model. The effectiveness of proposed method is verified through the simulation utilizing real delivery data. and weapons delivery testing in the evaluation of which element affecting the accuracy of analysis that was available to be used successfully.
