포만트 공간에서의 주파수 변환을 이용한 이중 언어 음성 변환 연구 (Bilingual Voice Conversion Using Frequency Warping on Formant Space)

  • This paper describes several approaches to transform a speaker's individuality to another's individuality using frequency warping between bilingual formant frequencies on different language environments. The proposed methods are simple and intuitive voice conversion algorithms that do not use training data between different languages. The approaches find the warping function from source speaker's frequency to target speaker's frequency on formant space. The formant space comprises four representative monophthongs for each language. The warping functions can be represented by piecewise linear equations, inverse matrix. The used features are pure frequency components including magnitudes, phases, and line spectral frequencies (LSF). The experiments show that the LSF-based voice conversion methods give better performance than other methods.

한국어 표준발음법의 전산화 및 응용 (Computerization and Application of the Korean Standard Pronunciation Rules)

  • This paper introduces a computerized version of the Korean Standard Pronunciation Rules that can be used in speech engineering systems such as Korean speech synthesis and recognition systems. For this purpose, we build Petri net models for each item of the Standard Pronunciation Rules, and then integrate them into the sound conversion table. The reversion of the Korean Standard Pronunciation Rules regulates the way of matching sounds into grammatically correct written characters. This paper presents not only the sound conversion table but also the character conversion table obtained by reversely converting the sound conversion table. Malting use of these tables, we have implemented a Korean character into a sound system and a Korean sound into the character conversion system, and tested them with various data sets reflecting all the items of the Standard Pronunciation Rules to verify the soundness and completeness of our tables. The test results show that the tables improve the process speed in addition to the soundness and completeness.

  • All-optical signal processing is expected to offer advantages in speed and power consumption against over electronics signal processing. It has a potential to solve the bottleneck issues of ultra-high speed communication network nodes. All-optical serial-to-parallel and parallel-to-serial data converters would make it possible to easily process the serial data information of a high-speed optical packet without optical-to-electronic-to-optical data conversion. In this paper, we explain the principle of simple and easily expandable all-optical serial-to-parallel and parallel-to-serial data converters based on Mach-Zehnder interferometers. We experimentally demonstrate these data converters at 10Gbit/s serial data rate. They are useful all-optical devices for the all-optical implementations of label decoding, self-routing, control of variable packets, bit-wise logical operation, and data format conversion.

  • This paper describes numerical analysis of the impulse turbine with fixed guide vanes, a high performance hi-directional air turbine having simple structure for wane energy conversion. A 3-dimensional incompressible viscous flow numerical analysis based on the full Reynolds-averaged Wavier-Stokes equations was made to investigate the internal flow behavior Numerical results ate compared with experimental data. As a result, a suitable choice for the one of design factors has been clarified.

  • Stereoscopic conversion has been an important and challenging issue for many 3-D video applications. Usually, there are two different stereoscopic conversion approaches, i.e., image motion-based conversion that uses motion information and object-based conversion that partitions an image into moving or static foreground object(s) and background and then converts the foreground in a stereoscopic object. As well, since the input sequence is MPEG-1/2 compressed video, motion data stored in compressed bitstream are often unreliable and thus the image motion-based conversion might fail. To solve this problem, we present the utilization of key-motion that has the better accuracy of estimated or extracted motion information. To deal with diverse motion types, a transform space produced from motion vectors and color differences is introduced. A key-motion is determined from the transform space and its associated stereoscopic image is generated. Experimental results validate effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

GOTHIC을 위한 SDTS 데이타 변환 시스템의 개발 (Development of a SDTS Data Conversion System for GOTHIC)

  • 지리 정보 시스템(GIS: Geographic Information System)은 일반적으로 각각의 독립적인 저장구조를 가지고 많은 양의 지리 정보 데이타를 다루고 있다. 이런 이유로 상호 호환적이지 못한 지리 데이터를 저장하고 있는 지리 정보 시스템들간의 지리 데이타 교환은 일반적으로 어려운 상황이다. 게다가, 지리 데이타를 저장하는 것은 많은 저장 공간을 필요로 하고, 그들을 입력하는데도 많은 비용이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 현존하는 지리 정보 시스템인 GOTHIC을 위한 SDTS 데이타 변환 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 데이타의 손실없는 변환을 위해서 먼저 SDTS 데이타와 GOTHIC 데이타간의 매핑을 설계하였다. 특히, SDTS 데이타가 ISO8211 형태이므로 엑세스를 위해 FIPS123 라이브러리를 이용하였고, 또한 GOTHIC의 내부적인 포맷은 공개되어 있지 않기 때문에 GOTHIC 데이타를 엑세스하기 위해 GOTHIC 라이브러리를 이용하였다. 본 논문에서 개발한 SDTS 데이타 변환 시스템은 효과적인 지리 정보 데이타의 변환을 위해 중간 화일을 이용하였고, 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 구현하기 위해 UIL을 이용하였다.

  • 온라인 광고모델의 기본 모델은 CPM (cost-per-mille) 기반 모델에서 CPC (cost-per-click) 기반 모델로 변화해왔으며, CPA (cost-per-action) 모델이 온라인 광고산업의 새로운 대안 모델로 제시되고 있다. CPA 모델에서는 사용자가 어떤 광고를 클릭 했는지에 관한 정보를 퍼블리셔(Publisher)가 보유할 수 있어야 하며, 그래서, CPA 모델의 핵심은 Conversation Action Data를 확보하는 것이다. 이 논문에서는 이를 획득하는 두 가지 기존 메커니즘을 소개하고, 이들의 특징을 비교하고, 각 메커니즘의 한계를 분석한다. 그 다음에 두 가지 새로운 메커니즘을 설계하고, 작동 요건을 분석하고, 실용성을 평가한다. 마지막으로, 기존의 메커니즘들과 새로운 메커니즘들의 특징을 비교하고, 각 메커니즘의 비즈니스 가치와 유용성, 응용 범위를 분석한다. 이 논문에서 제안된 2가지의 새로운 메커니즘과 기존 메커니즘과 비교 분석을 통해 퍼블리셔에게 최적 CPA 메커니즘에 관한 판단정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

VRML 모델을 이용한 쾌속조형에 관한 연구 (A Study on Rapid Prototyping using VRML Model)

  • Internet becomes very common tool for communication and data sharing. Virtual reality(VR) on web browser, and virtual prototyping and virtual manufacturing is widely used in many engineering folds. The reduction of overall development process and error minimization during data conversion becomes very crucial where sharing data via Internet and VR. This paper deals with the advantage and disadvantage of VRML format used in RP(Rapid Prototyping), and a software for RP data preparation is developed. If VRML format as an international standard for VR, is replaced with STL format, the weak points of STL format can be overcome and the technique related to virtual prototyping and virtual manufacturing can be addressed more systematically by sharing the data. The system developed in this work shows a good window to get access to a more realistic observation of an object fur an RP system from a long remote sites in a more systematic way.

  • In this paper, the comparison and analysis of PTI and IEEE data formats are conducted. and the algorithm and the developed program for data conversion between these data formats are proposed. PTI and IEEE data formats are widely used as the input data form of the software program for power systems. However, they are composed of different formation with each other. So, it is necessary to convert between two formats in order to use more programs with different input data format. Numerical results of the power flow calculation of the test system show that developed program is effective and useful.

Determining Feature-Size for Text to Numeric Conversion based on BOW and TF-IDF

  • Machine Learning is the most popular method used in data science. Growth of data is not only numeric data but also text data. Most of the algorithm of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms use numeric data. Now it is required to convert text data into numeric. There are many techniques for this conversion. Researcher confuses which technique is best in what situation. Here in proposed work BOW (Bag-of-Words) and TF-IDF (Term-Frequency-Inverse-Document-Frequency) has been studied based on different features to determine best method. After experimental results on text data, TF-IDF and BOW both provide better performance at range from 100 to 150 number of features.
