  • The Data Encryption Standard(DES) has been a worldwide standard for over 20 years. DES is one of the block encryption techniques which ciphers 64-bit input data blocks using a 56-bit private key. The DES algorithm transforms 64-bit input in a series of steps into a 64-bit output. Thus, it is impossible to deduce the plaintext from the ciphertext which encrypted by this algorithm without the key. This paper presents an implementation of RFID roader system using the DES algorithm. An implemented system enhances the credibility of the encryption algorithm by using the Cipher Block Chining(CBC). Experimental results also show that the implemented system has better performance over the conventional commercial product.

  • The manufacturing industry with Make-to-Order production system is difficult to decide the standard information for the product and the demand is variable to estimate. In this paper, we concerned with the process planning method using data mining in the manufacturing industry with Make-to-Order environment. The subject of our study is the industry transformer plant which is received an diverse order of customer and then produced the product. Currently, process planning method is classified the standard information by hand based on the acquired knowledge through the experience. The standard information stored the various information, such as work sequence, time and so on. This process planning method needs an experts which possesses the field experience for several years. For the product specification which is varied in each order, current process planning method is not efficient due to need many times To solve this problem, we extract the information using data mining process for each processing time, and then construct the knowledge base. We propose a method which is the process planning of the industry transformer product in Make-to-Order environment using the knowledge base.

  • There are many different factors used in calculating control limits of control chart for variable data. Specially these factors are divided into two groups such as "no given standard" and "given standard"(namely, for analysis and management), but many kind of factors give rise to confusion. Therefore, It is necessary to manifest relationships among factors for easy application regardless of subgroup size. Many SQC textbooks show us plainly these factors, but do not have enough for adequate explanation of relationships among factors. Besides, notation of these factors of SQC textbook isn't coincide with another one, so necessity to the coincidence for the notation of the factors is highlighted during my work recently. In this study, the close examination about relationships among various factors (A-A3, B3-B6, D1-D4, C4, d2, d3 etc) was carried out. Spread sheet results are presented for getting factors according to subgroup size, by grouping as the case of "no given standard" and "given standard". How are these factors to be applied in statistical package (ex, Minitab) have been analyzed using a series of sample data. analyzed using a series of sample data.

  • Geotechnical data contributes substantially to the cost of engineering projects due to increasing cost of site investigations. Existing information in the form of soil maps can save considerable time and expenses while deciding the scope and extent of site exploration for a proposed project site. This paper presents spatial interpolation of data obtained from soil investigation reports of different construction sites and development of soil maps for geotechnical characterization of Multan area using ArcGIS. The subsurface conditions of the study area have been examined in terms of soil type and standard penetration resistance. The Inverse Distance Weighting method in the Spatial Analyst extension of ArcMap10 has been employed to develop zonation maps at different depths of the study area. Each depth level has been interpolated as a surface to create zonation maps for soil type and standard penetration resistance. Correlations have been presented based on linear regression of standard penetration resistance values with depth for quick estimation of strength and stiffness of soil during preliminary planning and design stage of a proposed project in the study area. Such information helps engineers to use data derived from nearby sites or sites of similar subsoils subjected to similar geological process to build a preliminary ground model for a new site. Moreover, reliable information on geometry and engineering properties of underground layers would make projects safer and economical.

  • American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard test method PS 070-97 has been created for measuring fracture toughness of advanced ceramics. PS 070-97 includes three test methods which use beams in bending: chevron notch (CNB), single-edged precracked beam (SEPB), and surface crack in flexure (SCF). Supporting data has been collected through several Versailles Advanced Materials and Standards round robins. This paper discusses the evolution of the standard including the rationale for the choice of the three methods and the specifications in the standard. Progress on Standard Reference material 2100 which will have certified values of fracture toughness is presented.

  • This paper analyzes how levels of logistics standardization are related to logistics costs. The study surveyed ratios of standard pallet use in order to measure levels of firms' standardization in logistics management. Research focused on how firms' logistics costs were related to their levels of logistics standardization and ratios of standard pallet use. After measuring use of standard pallets and logistics costs, optimal levels of logistics standardization were estimated based on survey data. Logistics costs and standardization were more related to labor than to freight volume or export. Results indicated that firms could reduce logistics costs by raising levels of logistics standardization; optimal levels of standard pallet use out of Korean firms' total manufacturing cargo volume were estimated at 44.26% for multi-standard pallets and 57.99% for a single standard pallet (a unit load system). The study demonstrated that adopting a single standard pallet results in better cost saving logistics systems than use of multi-standard pallet types. These results may explain why firms pursue standardization in logistics systems.

  • IoT(Internet of Things) has purpose for providing new kind of service though interaction with everything. With development of IoT, computer model which is based on internet is changed to distributed connection model between heterogeneous things. There is a problem that it is impossible to connect between each other different protocols. To solve this problem, we should abstract each of things of data through using adaptor of middleware structure in order to make consistent data unit. In this paper, we propose BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) adaptor, which is interaction with things, based on DDS(Data Distribution Service) that is real-time standard middleware. It is possible to data interaction between BLE Devices as well as two-way data interaction with different protocol devices. Also existing BLE Devices and study have a problem that Data exchange without using a standard data format of a profile defined by the Bluetooth SIG. Using the data formats defined independently by a problem that should not exchange data according to the type and manufacturer of the device BLE. The BLE adapter to solve this problem, the classification and analysis of the 12 stand profile was applied to create a profile based on the standard data format. It is possible to get wide interoperability of not affected on the BLE devices type and manufacturer of the device because it is applied a profile that standard data format.

  • All aspects of human life have become increasingly dependent on data in the last few decades. The development of several applications causes an enormous issue on data volume in current years. This information must be safeguarded and kept in safe locations. Massive volumes of data have been safely stored with cloud computing. This technology is developing rapidly because of its immense potentials. As a result, protecting data and the procedures to be handled from attackers has become a top priority in order to maintain its integrity, confidentiality, protection, and privacy. Therefore, it is important to implement the appropriate security measures in order to prevent security breaches and vulnerabilities. An improved version of Modular Encryption Standard (IMES) based on layered modelling of safety mechanisms is the major focus of this paper's research work. Key generation in IMES is done using a logistic map, which estimates the values of the input data. The performance analysis demonstrates that proposed work performs better than commonly used algorithms against cloud security in terms of higher performance and additional qualitative security features. The results prove that the proposed IMES has 0.015s of processing time, where existing models have 0.017s to 0.022s of processing time for a file size of 256KB.

  • The International Maritime Organization's e-Navigation strategy is to introduce new technologies to ships to support easier and safer navigation. With the e-Navigation strategy, various equipment will be installed in vessels and the system structure will be linked to onshore systems. For this reason, a common data structure between systems became necessary, and finally the S-100 standard developed by the International Hydrographic Organization was selected. This paper describes a design of marine casualty data model based on the S-100 standard. The data model of the S-100 standard is designed in the form of a UML class diagram, and the final encoding follows the GML / XML format. We will look at the S-100 standard and product specifications under development, and describe the S-100 standards-based data design and portrayal definition of marine accident data.
