The purpose of Computer Aided Design is to design good products as quickly as possible. To do this, it is important to reuse the old designs and build on them. Most engineering designers, therefore. hale studied methods for reusing old designs, and the results of their study hale been applied to new designs Unfortunately, this only involves reuse of geometric data without design knowledge. If they can design products with the geometric data, including design knowledge, of the old designed and share them through the Internet, design efficiency will be improved. In other words, one way to improve designer's productivity is to share design information that includes knowledge and scattered data across design offices. This paper introduces a shared design environment with distributed knowledge-base. A product design environment based on distributed knowledge-base is proposed, which integrates the CORBA, OLE and WWW as the network architecture, a 3D CAD system, and an expert system shell. A design example of the lens barrel of a projection television is implemented to verify the idea.

The purpose of this study is to analyze various energy platforms using data in the US and to suggest directions and implications. Some of the leading energy platforms are selected and analyzed based on the opening platform model. We focus on the case analysis of the US utility companies. In case of the horizontal open platform, Green Button sponsor's 'Connect My Data (CMD)' driven by the government invites the utility companies to jointly develop the sponsor's data solution. In case of the vertical open platform, the certification program 'Share My Data (SMD)' allows backward compatibility, because the technical improvement is minimal. The utility companies benchmark Amazon's three-sided market mediation and prefer platform and category exclusivity. For the former, they have data analytics companies like Enervee, Opower and for the latter, they have electronics manufactures and energy service providers (ESPs) like Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). Based on this US case study, we suggest the energy platforms to open their platform for renewable energy supply, energy conservation, high-efficiency products, and residential DER dissemination. To successfully implement the government's energy transition policy, the US platforms should be benchmarked as a business model. Especially, it is needed for them to coordinate a platform ecosystem. To ensure trust in the products and services offered on the marketplace platform, platform's certification program is helpful.

Web based simulation service is actively utilized to computably analyze various kinds of phenomena in real world according to progress of computing technology and spread of Network. However it is hard to share data and information among users on the services, because most of web based simulation services do not share and open simulation processing information and results. In this paper, we design a simulation provenance data sharing service on EDISON_CFD (EDucation-research Integration Simulation On the Net for Computational Fluid Dynamics) to share the calculated simulation performance information. To store and share the simulation processing information, we define the simulation processing step as "Problem ${\rightarrow}$ Plan, Design ${\rightarrow}$ Mesh ${\rightarrow}$ Simulation performance ${\rightarrow}$ Result ${\rightarrow}$ Report." Users can understand a problem solving method through a computer simulation by searching the simulation performance information with Search/Share API of the store. Besides, this opened simulation information can reduce the waste of calculation resource to process same simulation jobs.
As the green transportation mode, revitalization of bike usage attracts remarkable public attention. For the acquirement of effective outcome, however, the concrete and close analysis about bike utilization characteristics should be arranged first. One result by MLTM(2009) is support this opinion; the bike mode share has been decreased whereas 9,170km of the bicycle path was improved(1995~2007). This study analyzed the bike mode share classified by trip types by using the 303,308 data of Household Travel Survey of Seoul Metropolitan Area, 2006. The highest mode share rate was induced by the institute attendee and Officetel resident as 3.75% and 3.13%, respectively. Also this study established the bike mode share estimation model of Seoul by logistic regression, and analyzed related factors and level of effectiveness related bike demand by calculation of odds ratio in terms of logistic regression coefficients. In conclusion, short trips, institutes district, parks, and Officetel residential area oriented policy should be effective on the revitalization of bike usage.

The paper describes the quantitative and qualitative dimensions of artificial neural networks (ANN) in India in the global context. The study is based on research publications data (8260) as covered in the Scopus database during 1999-2018. ANN research in India registered 24.52% growth, averaged 11.95 citations per paper, and contributed 9.77% share to the global ANN research. ANN research is skewed as the top 10 countries account for 75.15% of global output. India ranks as the third most productive country in the world. The distribution of research by type of ANN networks reveals that Feed Forward Neural Network type accounted for the highest share (10.18% share), followed by Adaptive Weight Neural Network (5.38% share), Feed Backward Neural Network (2.54% share), etc. ANN research applications across subjects were the largest in medical science and environmental science (11.82% and 10.84% share respectively), followed by materials science, energy, chemical engineering and water resources (from 6.36% to 9.12%), etc. The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee lead the country as the most productive organizations (with 289 and 264 papers). Besides, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (33.04 and 2.76) and Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (24.26 and 2.03) lead the country as the most impactful organizations in terms of citation per paper and relative citation index. P. Samui and T.N. Singh have been the most productive authors and G.P.S.Raghava (86.21 and 7.21) and K.P. Sudheer (84.88 and 7.1) have been the most impactful authors. Neurocomputing, International Journal of Applied Engineering Research and Applied Soft Computing topped the list of most productive journals.

Since multimedia data such as video and audio data are displayed within a certain time constraint, their computation and manipulation should be handled under limited condition. Traditional real-time scheduling algorithms could not be directly applicable, because they are not suitable for multimedia scheduling applications which support many clients at the same time. Rate Regulating Proportional Share Scheduling Algorithm is a scheduling algorithm considered the time constraint of the multimedia data. This scheduling algorithm uses a rate regulator which prevents tasks from receiving more resource than its share in a given period. But this algorithm loses fairness, and does not show graceful degradation of performance under overloaded situation. This paper proposes a new modified algorithm, namely Modified Proportional Share Scheduling Algorithm considering the characteristics of multimedia data such as its continuity and time dependency. Proposed scheduling algorithm shows graceful degradation of performance in overloaded situation and the reduction in the number of context switching. Furthermore, a new evaluation method is proposed which can evaluate the flexibility of scheduling algorithm.
This study examines difference in expenditure patterns between working-wife families and nonworking-wife families. The data used in the study is 4,506 husband-wife families take National Survey of family Income and Expenditure in 1996. Of the sample, 42.3% are working-wife families. Consumption expenditure patterns are analyzed in two ways. One is the budget share of each given expenditure and the other is elasticity of those expenditure. The main results of this study are as follows: First, there are the differences between working-wife families and nonworking-wife families in the budget share of each given expenditure. In the budget shares of each given expenditure, nonworking-wife families share more than working wife families for food and medicine. And working-wife families allocated more on public transportation than their counterparts. Second, there are also differences between working-wife families and nonworking-wife families in income elasticities.
Purpose: This study examines the market segmentation and strategy of PT INKA, a rolling stock manufacturer in Indonesia. Research design, data and methodology: The study used the MCDM (Multiple Criteria Decision Making) method specifically the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process). The AHP method was applied to identify the target market. This method or approach considers the market attractiveness and competitive strength criteria with quantified parameters. Results: a) Australia, Kenya, Tanzania, New Zealand, and India emerge as the top five target markets; b) There is justification for rolling stock manufacturers to allocate their resources in winning the market share. Conclusion: The main challenge confronting the rolling stock manufacturer is limited resources to acquire a particular market share despite abundant opportunities in this sector. Despite the mastery of technology and long experience in the industry, selecting a target market with multiple criteria could be difficult for an emerging rolling stock manufacturer in South East Asia.

This study was carried out to obtain basic data for architectural plans about factors on the facilities relocation needed in management of variation type. For this, floor plans of thirteen middle schools located in Korea and Japan were compared. The results showed a successful conversion to block system according to each subject after remodeling in the schools of our country, however, a monotonous spacial composition excluded other spaces such as media space, teachers' station and preparation room was also shown. These mentioned spaces were important factors in the investigated schools of Japan. By the results of the spacial composition about each space required to the management of variation type, a space share of supplemental areas for learning activities and movement, had shown comparatively low share before remodeling, was improved to 6% and 11.6%, respectively. However, the spacial share of two areas were 16.8% and 12.9%, respectively, in the schools of Japan and it meant the distribution of area was more even than the cases of our country.
