Objectives: Chemicals derived from various environment media contaminates food across the food supply chain. In Korea, levels of contaminants in food have been sporadically measured by monitoring programs of different government agencies. There is difficulty with data compilation and integrated analysis across media. Therefore, the aim of this study was to propose an overall integrated database and analytical platform design for the 'ECO-FOOD NET (Environmental COntaminant reduction platform for FOOD through an interagency collaboration NETwork)', a tool to support the reduction of environmental contaminants in food. Methods: We developed a new data structure and standardized protocols for the compilation of integrated data. In addition, we conducted subject-oriented logical and physical relational database modeling and created the architecture design of the platform. Results: We established a standardized code system related to exposure media and route, analysis method and food matrix. In addition, we designed the seven software modules of 'About the System', 'Introduction to Interagency Work', 'Media-Chemicals Profiles', 'Method Bank', 'Monitoring Data Base', 'Integrated Media Analysis', and 'Risk-Benefit Analysis'. Conclusions: This study will contribute to decision-making as a tool for executing risk management, such as sustainable reduction policies of contaminants in food.
DEEP-South Scheduling and Data reduction System (DS SDS) consists of two separate software subsystems: Headquarters (HQ) at Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI), and SDS Data Reduction (DR) at Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI). HQ runs the DS Scheduling System (DSS), DS database (DB), and Control and Monitoring (C&M) designed to monitor and manage overall SDS actions. DR hosts the Moving Object Detection Program (MODP), Asteroid Spin Analysis Package (ASAP) and Data Reduction Control & Monitor (DRCM). MODP and ASAP conduct data analysis while DRCM checks if they are working properly. The functions of SDS is three-fold: (1) DSS plans schedules for three KMTNet stations, (2) DR performs data analysis, and (3) C&M checks whether DSS and DR function properly. DSS prepares a list of targets, aids users in deciding observation priority, calculates exposure time, schedules nightly runs, and archives data using Database Management System (DBMS). MODP is designed to discover moving objects on CCD images, while ASAP performs photometry and reconstructs their lightcurves. Based on ASAP lightcurve analysis and/or MODP astrometry, DSS schedules follow-up runs to be conducted with a part of, or three KMTNet telescopes.
The failure rate model of External Environment Maintenance(EEM) for a system under severe environment is investigated. EEM, which is recently introduced concept, is a maintenance activity controlling external environment factors that potentially cause system failure such as cleaning equipment, controlling temperature (humidity) and removing dust inside of electronic appliances. EEM can not have any influence on the inherent failure rate of a system but reduce the severity of the external environment causing failure since it deals with only external environment factors. Therefore, we propose two failure rate models to express the improvement effect of EEM: The intensity reduction model and age reduction model. The intensity and age reduction models of EEM are developed assuming the quality of improvement effect is proportioned to an extra intensity or age respectively. The validation of proposed failure rate models is performed in order of data generation, parameter estimation and test for goodness-of-fit.

Drag reduction in polymer solutions is the phenomenon where by extremely dilute solutions of high molecular weight polymers exhibit frictional resistance to flow much lower than the pure solvent. This effect, largely unexplained as yet, has attracted the attention of polymer scientists and fluid flow specialists. Although applications are beginning to appear, the principle interest to data has been in attempting to relate the effect to the fluid mechanics of turbulent flow. Drag reduction in two phase flow can be applied to the transport of crude oil, phase change system such as chemical reactor, and pool and boiling flow. But the research on drag reduction in two phase flow is not intensively investigated. Therefore, experimental investigations have been carried out to analyze the drag reduction produced by polymer addition in the single phase and two phase flow system. The objectives of the proposed investigation are primarily in identifying and developing high performance polymer additives for fluid transportations with the benefits of turbulent drag. Also we want to is to evaluate the drag reduction in horizontal flow by measuring pressure drop and mean velocity. Experimental results show higher drag reduction using co - polymer(A611P) then using polyacrylamide (PAAM) and faster degradation using PAAM than using A611P under the same superficial velocity.

In general many engineers can diagnose the fault condition using the abnormal ones among data monitored from a diesel engine, but they don't need the system modelling or identification for the work. They check the abnormal data and the relationship and then catch the fault condition of the engine. This paper proposes the construction of a fault diagnosis engine through malfunction data gained from the data fault detection system of neural networks for diesel generator engine, and the rule inference method to induce the rule for fuzzy inference from the malfunction data of diesel engine like a site engineer with a fuzzy system. The proposed fault diagnosis system is constructed in the sense of the Malfunction Diagnosis Engine(MDE) and Hierarchy of Malfunction Hypotheses(HMH). The system is concerned with the rule reduction method of knowledge base for related data among the various interactive data.

Component Cost Analysis considers any given system driven by a white noise process as an interconnection of different components, and assigns a metric called "component cost" to each component. These component costs measure the contribution of each component to a predefined quadratic cost function. One possible use of component costs is for model reduction by deleting those components that have the smallest component cost. The theory of Component Cost Analysis is extended to include finite-bandwidth colored noises. The results also apply when actuators have dynamics of their own. When the dynamics of this input are added to the plant, which is to be reduced by CCA, the algorithm for model reduction process will be called Weighted Component Cost Analysis (WCCA). Closed-form analytical expressions of component costs for continuous time case, are also derived for a mechanical system described by its modal data. This is very useful to compute the modal costs of very high order systems beyond Lyapunov solvable dimension. A numerical example for NASA's MINIMAST system is presented.presented.
Thesedays, the reduction of hand-transmitted vibration of hand-held power tools is important issue for operators' welfare, In the study, frequency response function is measured and vibration total value is evaluated for solving the principle and effect of the BOSCH's vibration-proof handle. This handle functions as a dynamic damper and has the effect, 22% vibration total value reduction under idling condition using a system that consists of a PC with data acquisition system and LabVIEW program. The program in the system makes it possible to evaluate vibration total value according to ISO 5349. This handle offers a good example for figuring out the physical contradiction between the work efficiency and operators' health.

Objectives: This systematic review evaluated the efficacy of the supplementary use of the XP-endo Finisher on bacteria content reduction in the root canal system. Materials and Methods: In-vitro studies evaluating the use of the XP-endo Finisher on bacteria content were searched in four databases in July 2020. Two authors independently screened the studies for eligibility. Data were extracted, and risk of bias was assessed. Data were meta-analyzed by using random-effects model to compare the effect of the supplementary use (experimental) or not (control) of the XP-endo Finisher on bacteria counting reduction, and results from different endodontic protocols were combined. Four studies met the inclusion criteria while 1 study was excluded from the meta-analysis due to its high risk of bias and outlier data. The 3 studies that made it to the meta-analysis had an unclear risk of bias for at least one criterion. Results: No heterogeneity was observed among the results of the studies included in the meta-analysis. The study excluded from the meta-analysis assessing the bacteria counting deep in the dentin demonstrated further bacteria reduction upon the use of the XP-endo Finisher. Conclusions: This systematic review found no evidence supporting the supplementary use of the XP-endo Finisher on further bacteria counting the reduction in the root canal.
Since most Green House Gases (GHGs) and air pollutants are generated from the same sources, it will be cost-effective to develop a GHGs reduction plan in combination with simultaneous removal of air pollutants. However, effects on air pollutants reduction according to implementing any GHG abatement plans have been rarely studied. Reflecting simultaneous removal of air pollutants along with the GHGs emission reduction, this study investigated relative cost effectiveness among GHGs reduction action plans in Busan Metropolitan City. We employed the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), a methodology that evaluates relative efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs) producing multiple outputs with multiple inputs, for the investigation. Assigning each GHGs reduction action plan to a DMU, implementation cost of each GHGs reduction action plan to an input, and reduction potential of GHGs and air pollutants by each GHGs reduction action plan to an output, we calculated efficiency scores for each GHGs reduction action plan. When the simultaneous removal of air pollutants with the GHGs reduction were considered, green house supply-insulation improvement and intelligent transportation system (ITS) projects had high efficiency scores for cost-positive action plans. For cost-negative action plans, green start network formation and running, and daily car use control program had high efficiency scores. When only the GHGs reduction was considered, project priority orders based on efficiency scores were somewhat different from those when both the removal of air pollutants and GHGs reduction were considered at the same time. The expected action plan priority difference is attributed to great difference of air pollutants reduction potential according to types of energy sources to be reduced.

Considering time-lag in the performance evaluation of information system (IS) investment is important because its effect reveals after certain period of time passed. Particularly it is more in the systems of e-government informatization projects which the amount of investment and the scale of business are huge. Many methods to solve this issue have been proposed such as system dynamics methods, simulations, structural equations etc. However, it is still difficult and unsolved problem because collecting practical data for time-lag analysis is very hard. In this paper, we analyze IS time-lag effect through factor analysis using the accumulated practical operational DB data. For the performance evaluation of the G4C system, the representative e-government web portal, we selected eleven factors reflecting time passing in G4C DB data. With these factors this paper conduct time-lag analysis in four view points. First, we conducted 'Stabilizing of G4C system' and got a result that IS is needed about three years for the stabilization. Second, we conducted 'Utilization of G4C system' and got a result that the utilization reaches appropriate level after in three years later after the introduction of G4C system. Third, we conducted 'Cost reduction effect' and got a result that cost reduction is stable in the third year after the introduction of G4C system. Lastly, we conducted 'System maturity effect' and got a result that the system reaches to the quality level that users expect after third to fourth years. According to the results of this research, we found that performance of IS improv continuously not immediately, and it needs three or four years of time-lag.
