  • System engineering(SE) management techniques applied for space launch system development are introduced to assess the current status and address the effwctiveness of these techniques. Management plans and guides are prepared for the work breakdown structure , data, comfiguration, interface control, Quality assurance, procurement, reliability, risk and verification/validation . Further improvement is required for the system engineering management plan(SEMP) to merge the international cooperation into current engineering managment system.

Criticality benchmarking of ENDF/B-VIII.0 and JEFF-3.3 neutron data libraries with RMC code

  • New versions of ENDF/B and JEFF data libraries have been released during the past two years with significant updates in the neutron reaction sublibrary and the thermal neutron scattering sublibrary. In order to get a more comprehensive impression of the criticality quality of these two latest neutron data libraries, and to provide reference for the selection of the evaluated nuclear data libraries for the science and engineering applications of the Reactor Monte Carlo code RMC, the criticality benchmarking of the two latest neutron data libraries has been performed. RMC was employed as the computational tools, whose processing capability for the continuous representation ENDF/B-VIII.0 thermal neutron scattering laws was developed. The RMC criticality validation suite consisting of 116 benchmarks was established for the benchmarking work. The latest ACE format data libraries of the neutron reaction and the thermal neutron scattering laws for ENDF/B-VIII.0, ENDF/B-VII.1, and JEFF-3.3 were downloaded from the corresponding official sites. The ENDF/B-VII.0 data library was also employed to provide code-to-code validation for RMC. All the calculations for the four different data libraries were performed by using a parallel version of RMC, and all the calculated standard deviations are lower than 30pcm. Comprehensive analyses including the C/E values with uncertainties, the δk/σ values, and the metrics of χ2 and < |Δ| >, were conducted and presented. The calculated keff eigenvalues based on the four data libraries generally agree well with the benchmark evaluations for most cases. Among the 116 criticality benchmarks, the numbers of the calculated keff eigenvalues which agree with the benchmark evaluations within 3σ interval (with a confidence level of 99.6%) are 107, 109, 112, and 113 for ENDF/B-VII.0, ENDF/B-VII.1, ENDF/B-VIII.0 and JEFF-3.3, respectively. The present results indicate that the ENDF/B-VIII.0 neutron data library has a better performance on average.

HSPF 모형을 이용한 축산계 비점오염 저감에 따른 합천댐 유역 수질 영향 분석 (Estimation of Livestock Pollutant Sources Reduction Effect on Water Quality in Hapcheon Dam Watershed Using HSPF Model)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate water quality in Hapcheon dam via using the Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran (HSPF) model and applied livestock reduction scenarios. Hapcheon dam watershed input data for the HSPF model were established using the stream, land use, digital elevation map and meteorological data and others. The HSPF model was calibrated and validated using the observed water quality data from 2000 to 2016. For water quality simulation, we calculated the generated and discharge loads of the population, livestock, industry and land use following the guideline provided by the Ministry of Environment. The pollutant data were obtained from National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER). The monthly discharge load were estimated by applying the delivery rate. The calibration and validation results showed that the annual mean BOD had a difference of 0.22 mg/L and an error of ±13 %, T-N had a difference of 0.66 mg/L and an error of ±16 % and T-P had a difference of 0.027 mg/L and an error of ±13 %. In order to evaluate the nonpoint pollutants management effects, we applied livestock reduction scenarios because livestock consists of the largest portion of pollutants. As a result of the 20 % of livestock reduction, BOD, T-N and T-P decreased by 3 %, 1 % and 3 %, respectively. When 40 % of livestock reduction was applied, BOD, T-N and T-P decreased by 5 %, 3 % and 4 %, respectively. Based on the results of this study, effective pollutant management methods can be applied to improve the water quality and achieve the target water quality of Hapcheon dam watershed.

산모가 인지한 분만간호의 질 측정도구 개발 (Development of an Instrument to Assess the Quality of Childbirth Care from the Mother's Perspective)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop an instrument to assess the quality of childbirth care from the perspective of a mother after delivery. Methods: The instrument was developed from a literature review, interviews, and item validation. Thirty-eight items were compiled for the instrument. The data for validity and reliability testing were collected using a questionnaire survey conducted on 270 women who had undergone normal vaginal delivery in Korea and analyzed with descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, and reliability coefficients. Results: The exploratory factor analysis reduced the number of items in the instrument to 28 items that were factored into four subscales: family-centered care, personal care, emotional empowerment, and information provision. With respect to convergence validation, there was positive correlation between this instrument and birth satisfaction scale (r=.34, p<.001). The internal consistency reliability was acceptable (Cronbach's alpha =.96). Conclusion: This instrument could be used as a measure of the quality of nursing care for women who have a normal vaginal delivery.

고해상도 위성 영상자료 표준화 동향 (Standardization of High-resolution Satellite Image data)

  • 본 논문에서는, 위성 영상자료 표준화에 대한 정의 및 표준화에 따른 일반 사용자들의 요구사항들을 설명한다. 위성을 개발하고 운영하더라도 일반 사용자가 사용하지 않는다면 그 위성은 무용지물일 수밖에 없다. 일반 사용자가 위성 영상자료를 원활하게 사용하기 위해서는 위성 영상자료에 대한 표준화가 이루어져야하고 한국항공우주연구원은 아리랑 위성의 개발 기관으로서 위성 영상자료의 표준화를 완수해야한다. 위성 영상 자료의 표준화를 위해서는 위성 개발 요구사항, 국제 영상자료 표준화, 일반 사용자 요구사항들을 반영해야 하고, 일반 사용자들에게 제공되는 영상자료도 표준 형식을 수용해야한다. 또한 위성 영상자료 품질을 확보하기 위한 검보정 작업이 필수적으로 수행되어야 한다. 한국항공우주연구원은 이미 운영 중인 아리랑 위성 2호를 포함하여 다목적 실용위성5호와 3호의 표준화를 위한 작업을 단계별로 수행 중이다.

대기오염 모델의 정합도에 대한 연구: (서울특별시 대기오염추계에 있어 Hanna - Gifford Model과 Air Quality Display Model의 적용에 대하여) (The Validation of Air Pollution Simulation Models(comparisons between Hanna-Gifford Model and Air Quality Display Model in the Application to Air Pollution of Seoul))

  • Hanna - Gifford Model and Air Quality Display Model(AQDM) were validated in the simulation of $SO_2$ and TSP concentrations of Seoul City. The observed data which were measured at 16 sites of air monitoring system conducted by Seoul metropolitan city in 1984 were compared with the simulated data and the results were obtained as follows; 1. Several different meteorological data were examined: The particularities of meteorological data was not an influencing factor in the validity of simulation. The simulations of $SO_2$ by Hanna - Gifford model and by AQDM showed close correlation coefficients between the observed data and the simulated data (r = 0.71 - 0.78). 2. The simulation models showed different validities with the seasonal variation: The correlation coefficients (r) between the observed and the simulated by Hanna - Gifford Model for $SO_2$ and TSP were 0.86 and 0.80 in Spring, 0.63 and 0.66 in Summer, 0.76 in Autumn and 0.81 and 0.93 in Winter respectively. Those by AQDM were 0.73 and 0.68 in Spring, 0.56 and 0.79 in Summer, 0.77 and 0.76 in Autumn and 0.64 and 0.68 in Winter respectively. 3. The simulated data by two models had a close relationships: The correlation coefficients between them were 0.96 for $SO_2$, and 0.93 for TSP. With the above results, the application of models was discussed; Hanna - Gifford model was less valid in the simulation for the air quality of $SO_2$ and TSP in Seoul in Summer and AQDM also was not valid for $SO_2$ in Summer and in Winter and for TSP in Spring.

농림위성 산림분야 식생지수 검보정 사이트 설계 (Design of Calibration and Validation Area for Forestry Vegetation Index from CAS500-4)

  • 우리나라 산림의 효율적인 관리와 산림 모니터링을 위해 산림청은 농림위성을 개발 중이며 2025년 발사 예정이다. 농림위성을 효율적으로 활용하기 위해 산림청 국립산림과학원은 36종의 농림위성 산림분야 활용산출물 개발을 진행 중이다. 원격탐사 기법을 활용하여 도출된 산출물들은 지상검증이 요구되며 해당 산출물들에 대한 품질 모니터링 결과를 지속적으로 보고해야 한다. 국내 최초로 산림분야 활용 위성이 개발되는 상황이라 국내에는 공식적인 산림분야 활용 산출물 검보정 사이트가 부재하다. 이에 저자들은 국제기준에 맞춰 농림위성 산림분야 활용산출물 검보정을 위한 검보정 사이트를 설계하였다. 또한 전국적으로 검보정 사이트를 설치하기 위해 적정 센서를 선택하여 해당 센서의 활용 가능성을 평가하였다. 평가 결과 지상 관측데이터와 Sentinel-2 영상과의 산림 산출물에 대한 오차가 ±5% 이내로 관측되어 해당 센서를 활용하여 전국적으로 확장이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • Geostationary Ocean Color Imager-II (GOCI-II)는 2020년 2월 성공적으로 발사된 이후 본격적인 검보정 활동을 통해, 산출물 정확도 향상을 위한 다양한 연구들이 진행 중이다. 본 특별호는 GOCI-II 자료의 검보정 및 알고리즘 개선 연구가 시작된 지 2년이 되어가는 현재 시점에서의 GOCI-II 자료 품질 관리 알고리즘을 점검하고, 정확도 향상 및 활용 진행 사항과 관련 연구결과를 소개한다. GOCI-II 영상 자료의 지속적인 검보정 활동을 통해 정확도 높은 자료가 제공되고 활용되기를 기대한다.

Evaluation of Similarity Analysis of Newspaper Article Using Natural Language Processing

  • Comparing text features involves evaluating the "similarity" between texts. It is crucial to use appropriate similarity measures when comparing similarities. This study utilized various techniques to assess the similarities between newspaper articles, including deep learning and a previously proposed method: a combination of Pointwise Mutual Information (PMI) and Word Pair Matching (WPM), denoted as PMI+WPM. For performance comparison, law data from medical research in Japan were utilized as validation data in evaluating the PMI+WPM method. The distribution of similarities in text data varies depending on the evaluation technique and genre, as revealed by the comparative analysis. For newspaper data, non-deep learning methods demonstrated better similarity evaluation accuracy than deep learning methods. Additionally, evaluating similarities in law data is more challenging than in newspaper articles. Despite deep learning being the prevalent method for evaluating textual similarities, this study demonstrates that non-deep learning methods can be effective regarding Japanese-based texts.

자외선 유도 형광의 사과 성숙도 평가 적용 (UV/blue Light-induced Fluorescence for Assessing Apple Quality)

  • Chlorophyll fluorescence has been researched for assessing fruit post-harvest quality and condition. The objective of this preliminary research was to investigate the potential of fluorescence spectroscopy for measuring apple fruit quality. Ultraviolet (UV) and blue light was used as an excitation source for inducing fluorescence in apples. Fluorescence spectra were measured from 'Golden Delicious' (GD) and 'Red Delicious' (RD) apples using a visible/near-infrared spectrometer after one, three, and five minutes of continuous UV/blue light illumination. Standard destructive tests were performed to measure fruit firmness, skin and flesh color, soluble solids and acid content from the apples. Calibration models for each of the three illumination time periods were developed to predict fruit quality indexes. The results showed that fluorescence emission decreased steadily during the first three minutes of UV/blue light illumination and was stable within five minutes. The differences were minimal in the model prediction results based on fluorescence data at one, three or five minutes of illumination. Overall, better predictions were obtained for apple skin chroma and hue and flesh hue with values for the correlation coefficient of validation between 0.80 and 0.90 for both GD and RD. Relatively poor predictions were obtained for fruit firmness, soluble solids content, titrational acid, and flesh chroma. This research has demonstrated that fluorescence spectroscopy is potentially useful for assessing selected quality attributes of apple fruit and further research is needed to improve fluorescence measurements so that better predictions of fruit quality can be achieved.
