Design and Analysis of Multiple Mobile Router Architecture for In-Vehicle IPv6 Networks (차량 내 IPv6 네트워크를 위한 다중 이동 라우터 구조의 설계와 분석)

  • As the demand for ubiquitous mobile wireless Internet grows, vehicles are receiving a lot of attention as new networking platforms. The demand for 4G all-IP networks encourages vehicle networks to be connected using IPv6. By means of network mobility (NEMO) support, we can connect sensors, controllers, local ,servers as well as passengers' devices of a vehicle to the Internet through a mobile router. The mobile router provides the connectivity to the Internet and mobility transparency for the rest of the mobile nodes of an in-vehicle nv6 network. So, it is .important for the mobile router to assure reliable connection and a sufficient data rate for the group of nodes behind it. To provide reliability, this paper proposes an adaptive multihoming architecture of multiple mobile routers. Proposed architecture makes use of different mobility characteristics of different vehicles. Simulation results with different configurations show that the proposed architecture increases session preservation thus increases reliability and reduces packet loss. We also show that the proposed architecture is adaptive to heterogeneous access environment which provide different access coverage areas and data rates. The result shows that our architecture achieves sufficient data rates as well as session preservation.

Explorative Study on Movement Patterns in Uljin-gun and Samcheok-si Wildfire Event (경북 울진·강원 삼척 등 산불에 따른 인구 이동 패턴에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • In 2022, wildfires broke out in Uljin-gun and Samcheok-si, which set the record for the longest forest fire in Korea, but there were no casualties. To protect local residents from wildfires, they must evacuate. Predicting the demand for evacuation in the event of wildfires is essential for the efficiency of disaster management. The purpose of this study is to analyze the human mobility patterns according to the occurrence of Uljin-gun and Samcheok-si wildfires. SKT floating population data was used in this study to analyze the human mobility patterns in Uljin-gun and Samcheok-si. The main findings are as follows. First, while the movement of the resident and visiting population decreased, the movement of the worker population was found to be similar to normal. Second, the resident population of Buk-myeon, Uljin-gun moved to the surrounding area to avoid the wildfires. Third, the region is an area judged to be safe from wildfires, and this mobility patterns are related to emergency disaster text messages. This study confirmed human mobility patterns of the population in the area where the wildfires through the floating population data, which is quantitative data. This suggests that it is important to guide residents to shelters through emergency text messages to minimize damage in the event of wildfires.

GIS Information Generation for Electric Mobility Aids Based on Object Recognition Model (객체 인식 모델 기반 전동 이동 보조기용 GIS 정보 생성)

  • In this study, an automatic information collection system and geographic information construction algorithm for the transportation disadvantaged using electric mobility aids are implemented using an object recognition model. Recognizes objects that the disabled person encounters while moving, and acquires coordinate information. It provides an improved route selection map compared to the existing geographic information for the disabled. Data collection consists of a total of four layers including the HW layer. It collects image information and location information, transmits them to the server, recognizes, and extracts data necessary for geographic information generation through the process of classification. A driving experiment is conducted in an actual barrier-free zone, and during this process, it is confirmed how efficiently the algorithm for collecting actual data and generating geographic information is generated.The geographic information processing performance was confirmed to be 70.92 EA/s in the first round, 70.69 EA/s in the second round, and 70.98 EA/s in the third round, with an average of 70.86 EA/s in three experiments, and it took about 4 seconds to be reflected in the actual geographic information. From the experimental results, it was confirmed that the walking weak using electric mobility aids can drive safely using new geographic information provided faster than now.

Design and evaluation of a dissimilarity-based anomaly detection method for mobile wireless networks (이동 무선망을 위한 비유사도 기반 비정상 행위 탐지 방법의 설계 및 평가)

  • Mobile wireless networks continue to be plagued by theft of identify and intrusion. Both problems can be addressed in two different ways, either by misuse detection or anomaly-based detection. In this paper, we propose a dissimilarity-based anomaly detection method which can effectively identify abnormal behavior such as mobility patterns of mobile wireless networks. In the proposed algorithm, a normal profile is constructed from normal mobility patterns of mobile nodes in mobile wireless networks. From the constructed normal profile, a dissimilarity is computed by a weighted dissimilarity measure. If the value of the weighted dissimilarity measure is greater than the dissimilarity threshold that is a system parameter, an alert message is occurred. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated through a simulation. From the result of the simulation, we know that the proposed method is superior to the performance of other anomaly detection methods using dissimilarity measures.

  • An important challenge in commercialization of eVTOL PAV is to reduce noise for urban air mobility (UAM) operation. Therefore, in this paper, noise priority routes were created to minimize the number of people affected by noise using aviation environmental design tool (AEDT) software and population distribution data for administrative districts, and noise analyses during operation were performed. Also, it was analyzed how much noise exposure could be reduced compared to the number of people affected by noise in the shortest route. Considering that the eVTOL PAV developers do not provide data, the analysis was conducted using a helicopter model. As a result, it was shown that the noise priority route that minimized the amount of noise exposure was more efficient than other routes.

  • The Wireless Ad Hoc network is discussed as a core technology for ubiquitous computing, and the smart tag technology is currently being actively discussed as a part of the sensor network. Thus, considering its security may advance the realization of ubiquitous computing. RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology using the smart tag technology as a part of the sensor network is currently in the limelight. In particular, when RFID is applied to a knowledge management system managing various data, data mobility and management convenience are ensured and automated knowledge service can be provided to users. Accordingly, this paper to proposed a secure scheme for mobility knowledge management systems using multi-agents differentiated from the existing knowledge management systems. Specifically, the proposed scheme designates user's authentication and privilege information in multi-agents and provides effective knowledge service through grouping based on user information. Moreover, even user's movement, the proposed scheme ensures service availability and provides continuous information through communication with multi-agent systems.

An Empirical Study on Air Force Mechanic Parka to Improve the Functionality (공군 정비파카의 기능성 개선을 위한 실태조사)

  • This study is designed to understand current wearing conditions of air force mechanic parkas and evaluate their functionality by examining the wearing conditions and wearers' subjective assessment. By doing so, it also intends to identify issues that require improvements; and to provide basic data for future development of air force mechanic parkas. A survey was conducted as a study methodology, and the collected 1,628 questionnaires were analyzed. Findings of this study are as follows. 1. In the usability assessment, it was found that visibility of body sides was needed to be enhanced since reflective tapes were attached only to the front and back of the body; pockets were too big, but not convenient to keep mechanic tools; the design of hiding hood was not suitable for water-proof clothing; and a new design of size-controllable hood was called for since the hood blocked eye sight. With respect to the fabric, dissatisfaction was identified with durability, cold-proof and fire-proof features. 2. In the mobility assessment, respondents showed low satisfaction with collar heights and neck girths. Mobility score was over moderate level on average, except the parka length that obstructs wearers' movement, and neck and collar size. 3. In the wearability assessment, respondents presented moderate satisfaction with pleasantness, weight, pressure and dampness. However, insulation was found unsatisfactory. Based on the result, this study proposed improvement plans on design, pattern and fabric; and is expected to serve as basic data for developing more effective and functional air force mechanic parkas.

Industry-specific skills and Wage (산업특수적 숙련과 임금)

  • It is expected that labor mobility and inter-industry labor turnover would rise due to the rapid changes in the industrial structure and legal institutions of layoffs after the 1997 economic crisis in Korea. One aspect of economic costs of labor mobility is demise of accumulated skills of workers. Workers' skills could be decomposed into three parts, general skills, firm-specific skills, and industry-specific skills. Using data from the panal data of Korea Labor Institute(KLIPS), I show that the net return to seniority is markedly reduced once industry-experience are controlled for. The returns to industry-specific experience are relatively high. Particularly, the experience in one-digit industry is more important for the white-collar workers, while the experience in three-digit industry is also important for the blue-collar workers. Therefore, it seems that the economic cost of labor mobility would be diverse between the skills and between the working classes.

The Effect of Exercise to Deep Abdominal Muscle and Thoracic Mobility on Pulmonary Function (복부근 강화운동과 흉추가동성 운동이 폐기능에 미치는 효과)

  • Background: This study was aimed to determine the effects of deep abdominal muscle exercises (DAME) and thoracic mobility exercises (TME) on pulmonary function. Methods: This study was conducted with 22 college students who are in their 20s and have no problem carrying out activities of daily living. All subjects were randomly assigned to either the DAME group (11) or the TME group (11) to undertake the exercises for 2 weeks. To measure pulmonary function of subjects, forced vital capacity (FVC), forced exploratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) and peak expiratory flow (PEF) were measured using chest graph. Chest expansion of subjects was also measured with tape ruler. These measurements were performed on the first day before the exercise program started and on the next day after the 2-week exercise program was completed. A paired-t test was performed to compare the differences in pulmonary function before and after the exercise program, and an independent t-test was performed to compare the two groups. Results: The results of this study were as follows: 1) In comparison of pre- and post-exercise changes in the DAME and TME groups, both groups showed significant increase in chest expansion and PEF after the exercise program, compared with the baseline data (p<.05). Both groups also demonstrated improvements in FVC and FEV1 after the exercise program, compared with the baseline data. However, the differences were not statistically significant (p>.05). 2) The comparison of the DAME and TME groups revealed no significant differences in chest expansion, FVC, FEV1 and PEF (p>.05). Conclusion: It is therefore concluded that both DAME and TME were effective in improving pulmonary function.

  • Mobile Ad-hoc networks have recently attracted a lot of attention in the research community as well as in industry. Although the previous research mainly focused on various of Ad-hoc in routing we consider, in this paper, how to efficiently support applications such as variable Geocasting basd on Ad-hoc networks. The goal of a geocasting protocol is deliver data packets to a group of nodes that are located within a specified geocasting region. Previous research that support geocast service in mobilie computing based on Ad-hoc have the non-optimization problem of data delivery path, overhead by frequent reconstruction of the geocast tree, and service disruption problem. In this paper, we propose the mobility pattern based geocast technique using variable service range according to the mobility of destination node and resource reservation to solve this problem. The experimental results show that our proposed mechanism has improved performance than previous research.
