In this Paper, new data matrix structure and respective processing algorithm for digital holographic storage are Proposed. Data matrix consists of user data and reference grid which is used to compensate geometrical errors such as magnification, shift and rotation of stored information. Processing algorithm identifies the location of reference grid and extracts user data. As a result of experiment, raw BER in case of shit, rotation and magnification are 3.09${\times}$10$^{-18}$ , 6.14${\times}$10$^{-12}$ , 1.2${\times}$10$^{-7}$ , respectively.

In this study, a simple principal component analysis using Lasso is proposed. This method consists of two steps. The first step is to compute principal components by the principal component analysis. The second step is to regress each principal component on the original data matrix by Lasso regression method. Each of new principal components is computed as the linear combination of original data matrix using the scaled estimated Lasso regression coefficient as the coefficients of the combination. This method leads to easily interpretable principal components with more 0 coefficients by the properties of Lasso regression models. This is because the estimator of the regression of each principal component on the original data matrix is the corresponding eigenvector. This method is applied to real and simulated data sets with the help of an R package for Lasso regression and its usefulness is demonstrated.

Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to improve image classification by the unsupervised classification techniques, the K-means. To do this, I selected a Landsat TM scene of Jeju Island, Korea and proposed two methods for PCA: unstandardized PCA (UPCA) and standardized PCA (SPCA). The estimated accuracy of the image classification of Jeju area was computed by error matrix. The error matrix was derived from three unsupervised classification methods. Error matrices indicated that classifications done on the first three principal components for UPCA and SPCA of the scene were more accurate than those done on the seven bands of TM data and that also the results of UPCA and SPCA were better than those of the raw Landsat TM data. The classification of TM data by the K-means algorithm was particularly poor at distinguishing different land covers on the island. From the classification results, we also found that the principal component based classifications had characteristics independent of the unsupervised techniques (numerical algorithms) while the TM data based classifications were very dependent upon the techniques. This means that PCA data has uniform characteristics for image classification that are less affected by choice of classification scheme. In the results, we also found that UPCA results are better than SPCA since UPCA has wider range of digital number of an image.

Speech homomorphic encryption has become one of the key components in secure speech storing in the public cloud computing. The major problem of speech homomorphic encryption is the huge data expansion of speech cipher-text. To address the issue, this paper presents a speech homomorphic encryption scheme with less data expansion, which is a probabilistic statistics and addition homomorphic cryptosystem. In the proposed scheme, the original digital speech with some random numbers selected is firstly grouped to form a series of speech matrix. Then, a proposed matrix encryption method is employed to encrypt that speech matrix. After that, mutual information in sample speech cipher-texts is reduced to limit the data expansion. Performance analysis and experimental results show that the proposed scheme is addition homomorphic, and it not only resists statistical analysis attacks but also eliminates some signal characteristics of original speech. In addition, comparing with Paillier homomorphic cryptosystem, the proposed scheme has less data expansion and lower computational complexity. Furthermore, the time consumption of the proposed scheme is almost the same on the smartphone and the PC. Thus, the proposed scheme is extremely suitable for secure speech storing in public cloud computing.

Operating excitation forces of the linear vibratory system are normally determined by direct measurement techniques using load cells, strain gauges, etc. But, hydraulic forces of the rotating turbomachinery such as centrifugal pumps are exerted on an impeller due to asymmety of the flow by the interaction between pump impeller and volute. So, investigations of wide range of hydraulic designs and geometric deviations are difficult by direct method. This paper presents a hybrid approach for fourier transformed operational excitation forces, which uses pseudo-inverse matrix of the transfer matrix for the system and the measured vibrational data with standard installed pump. The determination of the transfer function matrix is based on a linear rotor/stationary system and steady state harmonic response in finite element analysis. And, vibrational data is collected in both vertical and horizontal directions at inboard and outboard bearing housings. The results of the process may be enhanced by making acceleration measurements at many more locations than there are forces to be determined.
The paper summarizes the irradiation test and post-irradiation examination (PIE) data for the U-Mo low-enriched fuel that was irradiated in the MIR reactor under the RERTR Program. The PIE data were analyzed for both full-size fuel rods and mini-rods with atomized powder dispersed in Al matrix as well as with additions of 2%, 5% and 13% of silicon in the matrix and ZrN protective coating on the fuel particles. The full-size fuel rods were irradiated up to an average burnup of ${\sim}60%^{235}U$; the mini-rods were irradiated to an average burnup of ${\sim}85%^{235}U$. The presented data show a significant increase of the void fraction in the U-Mo alloy as the U-235 burnup rises from ~ 40% up to ~ 85%. The effect of irradiation test conditions and U-235 burnup were analyzed with regard to the formation of an interaction layer between the matrix and fuel particles as well as generation of porosity in the U-Mo alloy. Shown here are changes in distribution of U fission products as the U-235 burnup increases from ~ 40% up to ~ 85%.
This paper proposes a new query-based document summarization method using the semantic feature matrix and the semantic variable matrix. The proposed method doesn't need the training phase using training data comprising queries and query specific documents. And it exactly summarizes documents for the given query by using semantic features and semantic variables that is better at identifying sub-topics of document. Because the NMF have a great power to naturally extract semantic features representing the inherent structure of a document. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better performance than other methods.

Since the Matrix Pencil (MP) method can be performed to estimate multiple DOAs by using only single snapshot, this method is suitable for short data length or when the environment is dynamic. As the number of array increases, the computational load increases due to complex number computation. This paper presents an approach based on a unitary matrix pencil (MP) algorithm to reduce the computational load. Unitary transformation for the MP method has been suggested and formulated successfully. The computer simulation shows that the error rate of proposed method agree with that of MP for different SNR values.

We present a matrix-based inference algorithm suitable for electronic commerce applications. For this purpose, an Extended AND-OR Graph (EAOG) was developed with the intention that fast inference process is enabled within the electronic commerce situations. The proposed EAOG inference mechanism has the following three characteristics. 1. Real-time inference: The EAOG inference mechanism is suitable for the real-time inference because its computational mechanism is based on matrix computation. 2. Matrix operation: All the subjective knowledge is delineated in a matrix form. so that inference process can proceed based on the matrix operation which is computationally efficient. 3. Bi-directional inference: Traditional inference method of expert systems is based on either forward chaining or backward chaining which is mutually exclusive in terms of logical process and computational efficiency. However, the proposed EAOG inference mechanism is generically bi-directional without loss of both speed and efficiency. We have proved the validity of our approach with several propositions and an illustrative EC example.

The present study proposes a theoretical model for predicting the matrix crack density growth of each layer in composite laminates subjected to thermo-mechanical loads. Each layer with matrix cracks is treated as an equivalent continuum of degraded elastic stiffnesses which are functions of the matrix crack density in each slyer. The energy release rate as a function of the degraded elastic stiffnesses is then calculated for each layer as functions of thermo-mechanical loads externally applied to the laminate. The matrix crack densities of each layer in general laminates are predicted as functions of the thermo-mechanical loads applied to a number of laminates. Comparisons of the present study with experimental data in the open literatures are also provided.
