A Recommender System Model Using a Neural Network Based on the Self-Product Image Congruence

  • This study predicts consumer preference for social clothing at work, excluding uniforms using the self-product congruence theory that also establishes a model to predict the preference for recommended products that match the consumer's own image. A total of 490 Korean male office workers participated in this study. Participants' self-image and the product images of 20 apparel items were measured using nine adjective semantic scales (namely elegant, stable, sincere, refined, intense, luxury, bold, conspicuous, and polite). A model was then constructed to predict the consumer preferences using a neural network with Python and TensorFlow. The resulting Predict Preference Model using Product Image (PPMPI) was trained using product image and the preference of each product. Current research confirms that product preference can be predicted by the self-image instead of by entering the product image. The prediction accuracy rate of the PPMPI was over 80%. We used 490 items of test data consisting of self-images to predict the consumer preferences for using the PPMPI. The test of the PPMPI showed that the prediction rate differed depending on product attributes. The prediction rate of work apparel with normative images was over 70% and higher than for other forms of apparel.

베트남 출신 결혼이주여성들의 이중민족사회화: 위계의 교차가 만들어내는 다섯 가지 실천 유형 (Bi-ethnic Socialization of Marriage Migrant Women from Vietnam: The Five Practices at the Intersection of Hierarchies)

  • This paper explored the marriage migrant mothers' experiences of parenting bi-ethnic children in South Korea based on the concepts of ethnic socialization and intersectionality. We analyzed in-depth interviews of 22 marriage migrant women from Vietnam residing in the capital region of South Korea. They had at least one child whose biological father is Korean. Children were 5 years old or older, attending preschool or elementary school. Five types of bi-ethnic socialization strategies were identified, which provide portraits of different situations in which marriage migrant women were placed. The five strategies that emerged from the data were 1) "Natural practice of bi-ethnic socialization" including two heterogeneous groups, "Coexistence of two cultures" and "Mixture of two cultures", 2) "Active practice of bi-ethnic socialization", 3) "Struggling practice of bi-ethnic socialization", 4) "Silence on bi-ethnic socialization", and 5) "Suppressed bi-ethnic socialization". The strategies of bi-ethnic socialization that marriage migrant women chose to raise their children reflected personal perceptions of Korean society and individual ethnic identity formed within Korean society. This study complements existing research on ethnic socialization by examining how ethnic socialization practices are shaped by multiple contexts marriage migrant women embedded in Korean society.

From Possession to Relationship -An Investigation of the Consumer-driven Anthropomorphism of Fashion Goods-

  • This qualitative study delves into consumers' meanings, perceptions, and behaviors toward the anthropomorphism of fashion goods based on personal experiences. Previous studies focused on consumer responses to the marketer-driven anthropomorphism of products, messages, and brands; however, the present study examines consumers' spontaneous anthropomorphism focusing on personal meanings as a possessor and meanings in their social relationships. A qualitative methodology is adopted that involves in-depth interviews with eleven males and females in their 20s and 30s. Participants stated that were engaged in the anthropomorphic practice of fashion goods on a daily basis. Data analysis was based on grounded theory. Findings on consumer-driven anthropomorphism are discussed at personal and interpersonal levels. At the personal level, anthropomorphic objects are their companions that are often called "baby." Interestingly, anthropomorphism reduces the stigmas of materialism from the participants' side. At the interpersonal level, anthropomorphic practice is a ritual of sharing a common interest and assuring intimacy. Implications and suggestions for future research are also discussed.

환경미학의 이해와 경험적 접근방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Understanding of Environmental Aesthetics and the Method of Empirical Approach)

  • This thesis focuses on a study of design science, which is of a disciplinary character. And the purpose of such a study is to suggest a new direction to develop aesthetics through an empirical research into environmental psychol-ogy, human behavior, design thought, and the visual qual-ity of environment. The author of this study, since recognizing the necessi-ty of understanding environmental aesthetics as well as the necessity of aesthetics, has done an elementary study of empirical aesthetes, and then obtained some facts as follows: First, it is possible to analyse the visual characteristics immanent in the interrelations between human and envi-ronment by means of applying both the information the-ory of formal perception and expressional value and the perceptual theory of ecology to environmental aesthetics. Second, formal aesthetics is a science about the form and structure and in the meantime, symbolic aesthetics is a science about the environmental patterns giving pleas-ure to mankind and its associative meanings. Accordingly it is same as providing some aesthetic value to the ob-ject of environment design to apply some empirical data of visual quality to environmental design. Through such a process, users are provided or delivered with diverse, visual effect. In conclusion, environmental aesthetics is worthwhile to study, and its purpose is that it, as a framework of use-ful knowledge to the creation of the environment superi-or in quality, be applied to design.

A New Growth Strategy of Entrepreneurial Designer Fashion Enterprise (DFE) in Korea

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the dynamics of the newly emerging designer fashion market and examine how startup designers reacted to the tension between creativity and business, and how they grew within such dynamics. In-depth interviews were conducted with 22 DFE entrepreneurs and 7 fashion industry experts. The grounded theory was used to analyze data and yield results. Korean new generation of DFEs, attracted by the growing online market opportunities are directly distributing through online channels, targeting the millennial consumers who are pursuing new values at new distribution channels. They show new growth pattern, start with a few key items in the middle and lower price segments, then upscale their design, quality, and price. This study further investigated designers' enterprise orientation shift, which was explored by Mills. Some creativity-oriented designers encountered difficulties in the orientation shift, while designers who demonstrated business characteristics from the startup stage restored the balance by trying to improve both creativity and business. This study discovered a new way for the designer to enter the growth stage. This growth approach is one of the success strategies applicable to designers launching a brand on online platforms in the global market.

한국 시민단체의 성장에 대한 양적 연구 (Growth of Civic Organizations in South Korea)

  • 본 논문은 1997년과 2000년 이차에 걸쳐서 출간된 $\ll$한국 민간단체 총람\gg$ 자료를 소개하고, 이 자료의 분석을 통해 한국 시민단체의 성장에 대한 양적 연구를 수행한다. 시민단체 성장에 대한 주요 지표가 될 수 있는 회원수 정보와 설립연도 정보의 질을 데이터에 나타난 결측율을 중심으로 검토한다. 회원수 정보를 통해서 1996년에서 1999년 사이의 회원수 변화를 활동 분야에 따라 알아보고 그 결과를 시민단체의 성장이라는 측면에서 논의한다. 분석 결과 우리나라 시민단체 성장의 주축이라고 여겨지고 있는 시민사회 분야에서, 특히 전국적 규모의 단체들을 중심으로 많은 회원 감소가 있었던 것으로 보인다. 설립되는 단체 수의 지속적인 증가 추세와 맞물려, 이 결과는 계속적으로 그 숫자가 증가하고 있는 시민단체들 사이에 제한된 자원을 둘러싼 경쟁이 있음을 반영한다고 본다. 이러한 경향을 생태학적 조직이론에 근거해서 논의하고, 1945년부터 1996년까지 시민단체의 수적 성장 패턴을 설립연도 정보를 이용하여 간접적으로 확인한다. 이 의사 성장 곡선(pseudo-growth curve)을 생태학적 조직 이론에 근거해서 로지스틱 성장 곡선 모형으로서 제시하고, 비선형적 회귀분석을 통해 활동 범위와 분야별로 단체들의 수적 증가 추이를 비교해 본다.

한반도 도서지역의 식물사회네트워크 분석 (Analysis of Plants Social Network on Island Area in the Korean Peninsula)

  • 본 연구는 난온대림에 속한 도서지역에서 조사한 대량의 식생 데이터로 식물사회네트워크 분석을 통해 식물군락의 수종간 상호관계를 파악하고자 했다. 상록활엽수 성숙림에 출현하는 교목성 후박나무·구실잣밤나무·생달나무·광나무, 관목성 돈나무·자금우, 덩굴성 마삭줄·멀꿀이 서로 강한 양성결합(+)을 보였다. 이 수종들은 낙엽활엽수종과는 음성결합(-)하거나 친소관계가 없었는데 이는 입지환경 차이가 크기 때문이다. 식물사회네트워크 소시오그램에서 4개의 그룹으로 묶어 상록활엽수종인 그룹I과 낙활엽수종인 그룹II의 수종간에는 중심성과 연결성이 높게 나타났다. 소시오그램의 수종(노드) 배치와 연결정도(그룹화)는 DCA분석와 같이 환경요인과 식물군집의 특성을 간접적으로 추정 가능한 것으로 분석됐다. 식물사회네트워크상 중심성과 영향력이 큰 수종은 마삭줄·사스레피나무·생강나무·때죽나무 등이었다. 이 수종은 생태적 지위의 범위가 넓은 일반종이면서 숲틈과 훼손지 등에 흔히 출현하는 기회종의 특성과 생존전략을 갖는 것으로 보인다. 이 수종들이 식물군집의 종간 상호작용과 군집의 구조와 기능 변화에 그 역할이 클 것이다. 하지만 실제 식물사회에서 어떤 상호작용을 통해 식물군집 변화에 영향을 미치는지는 장기적인 연구와 심도 있는 논의가 필요하다.

재가 노인의 죽음불안에 영향을 미치는 요인: 생태학 이론을 바탕으로 (Factors Influencing Death Anxiety in Community-Dwelling Elderly: Based on the Ecology Theory)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 선행연구와 문헌고찰을 토대로 노인의 죽음불안을 결정짓는 요인들을 Belsky(1980)의 생태학적 이론에 근거하여 우울, 자아통합감, 영적안녕감의 개인유기체 요인과 미시체계 요인으로는 가족지지, 그리고 외체계 요인으로는 사회적연락망, 노인차별경험, 가족주의가치관의 요인들로 가설적 모형을 구축하여 죽음불안에 영향을 미치는 경로를 분석하고자 시행되었다. 방법: 연구대상자는 B광역시의 16개 구(區) 중 10개 구에 소재한 경로당을 이용하는 65세에서 85세 미만의 재가노인이었다. 연구 참여가 가능한 노인은 설문지의 내용을 읽고 이해하며 그에 응답할 수 있는 능력을 가진 자로서 본 연구의 목적을 이해하여 연구 참여에 동의한 후 설문에 참여하였다. 총 189부를 최종 자료 분석에 사용하였다. 자료는 SPSS-WIN 20.0과 AMOS 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 통계처리에 대한 유의 수준은 P<0.05로 설정하였다. 결과: 개인유기체 요인 중 우울은 죽음불안에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다(${\beta}=0.32$, P<0.001). 미시체계 요인인 가족지지는 죽음불안에 대한 직접(${\beta}=-0.15$, P=0.026), 간접효과(${\beta}=-0.06$, P=0.022) 및 총 효과(${\beta}=-0.21$, P=0.006) 모두 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 외체계 요인들 중 사회적연락망(${\beta}=0.21$, P=0.003)과 가족주의가치관(${\beta}=0.23$, P=0.009)은 죽음불안에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 노인의 죽음 불안에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 개인유기체 요인 중 우울, 미시체계 요인인 가족지지, 그리고 외체계 요인인 사회적 연락망 및 가족주위 가치관이 확인되었다. 비록 자아통합감, 영적 안녕감 및 노인차별경험이 죽음불안에 직접적인 영향이 없는 것으로 확인되었으나 노인의 개인유기체, 미시체계 및 외체계 요인들과 상호작용하는 것이 확인되어 노인의 죽음불안에 대한 중재개발에 있어서 개인과 가정 그리고 사회적 환경을 고려한 생태학적 접근이 필요한 것으로 여겨진다.

한국 보건의료 환경의 변천 : 제도적 로직, 행위자, 거버넌스를 중심으로 (An Institutional and Ecological Analysis of the Healthcare Environment in Korea: Focus on Institutional Logics, Actors, and Governance structures)

  • The primary goal of our study was to investigate the vast transformations of the healthcare sector in Korea during the past half century. Official data reported in the Korean statistical yearbooks and secondary data suggested by previous studies were used for institutional analysis of healthcare environment. Information on hospital released by the Korean Hospital Association was also used for ecological analysis. Institutional analysis: We identified three distinctive eras based primarily on changes in institutional logics, institutional actors, and governance structures : 'professional dominance (1952-1976)', 'government involvement (1977-1999)', and 'coexistence of competing institutional logics (2000-present)'. During the first era, physician association supported by Korean government comprised the primary governance regime. During the second era, the government became a major actor as a regulator and purchaser in health care sector, introducing of the 'mandatory national health insurance'. During the third era, making healthcare system sustainable and providing health care efficiently was overarching goals although it was hard to find a single central logic dominating this period. Ecological analysis: Evidence from the analysis of hospital population suggested that the expansion of the bed capacity was made from different processes, shifting from the ecological process in 1980s to the adaptive process in 1990s. And Korean hospitals had changed following both 'directional process' and 'stabilizing process' over time. Based on our results, we concluded that more studies to compare more organizational populations other than hospitals and to empirically test the effects of institutional changes on organizational changes and vice-versa, need to be conducted.

패션 제품 광고 모델이 여대생의 구매의도, 자존심 및 신체 만족에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Models in Ads on Buying Intention, Self-Esteem and Body Satisfaction of College Women)

  • It can be said that the ultimate goal of advertising is creating consumers' buying intention and buying behavior toward advertised goods. But literature suggests that ads have both intended and unintended consequences, and one of the unintended consequences is that the idealized images of physical attractiveness found in advertising have negative impact on girls' and womens' self-perceptions. Thus, this study, using social comparison theory as a framework, was designed to investigate the influences of the images of models in ads portrayed in TV and fashion magazines on the purchasing intention, self-esteem and body satisfaction of college women. Using an experimental stimulus, a moving picture representing thin and attractive models in the context of advertising fashion goods, two conditions were manipulated and the subjects were placed into one of two groups randomly, the experiment group and the control group. The experiment group only was exposed to the ads portraying highly attractive models. Data were collected from two groups using same questionnaire. The data were analyzed using t-test, two-way ANOVA, and descriptive statistics. The findings were as follows: 1. The thin and attractive image of models in ads on buying intention had significant positive influence on buying intention(p<.05). 2. The thin and attractive image of models in ads had significant negative influences on self-esteem(p<.05). 3. The thin and attractive image of models in ads had significant negative influence on body satisfaction(p<.05). 4. The ideal body internalization had significant negative influences on body satisfaction(p<.05), but interaction effect of model's image and ideal body internalization on body satisfaction was not significant.
