Data Backup System Exploiting De-duplication TAR Scheme (중복제거 TAR 기법을 적용한 백업 시스템)

  • TAR와 같은 아카이브 포맷에는 파일 중복을 제거하는 기능이 포함되어 있지 않아서 리눅스 배포 미러와 같이 버전단위로 저장되는 시스템에서 디스크 공간의 낭비가 발생하였다. 본 연구에서는 파일 중복 제거 기능을 추가한 TAR형태의 압축 포맷인 DTAR와 이를 제어하는 DTM 유틸리티를 제안하였다. 주요 아이디어는 클라이언트에서 DTAR 생성 시, 헤더에 SHA1 해시 정보를 추가하여 DTM 유틸리티를 통해 SHA1 해시를 노드로 하는 R-B Tree를 생성하고 이를 서버에 저장된 해시 정보와 비교하여 DTAR내에서 중복이 없는 파일을 선택적으로 파일을 압축하고 서버로 백업하고 관리하는 것이다. 실험 결과 DTM을 통한 백업은 중복 데이터가 누적될수록 DTAR가 tar.gz보다 공간적인 측면이나 백업을 위한 데이터 패킷 전송 시간에서 크게 향상된 성능을 보였다.

  • This paper is for a reasonable selection of design response spectra for the seismic design of specific types of soil-structure interaction systems, e.g., underground structure within flexible soil profiles of structures on the shallow soil layers on the stiff bed rock. the existing backup data used for determining the design response spectra of the Code have been investigated and evaluated. For this purpose, various types of free field analyses have been performed using one-dimensional wave propagation theory considering the nonlinear properties of the soil profile. As a result, a reasonable approach of determining input response spectra for specific soil profiles has been proposed to be compatible to the design response spectra of the Code.

  • We propose an off-line methodology for detecting a faulty backup roll that generates eccentricity components, under the condition that the feeding velocity, equivalently the angular velocity of roll, is not constant. From a newly devised speed angle conversion algorithm, we transform all process data into those of a virtual process under a constant feeding speed. This indirectly way, we can apply a spectral analysis to the original process. In addition, we develop an online detection method of roll eccentricity based on newly designed PLG sensor. This PLG sensor is robust because of applying magnetic proximity sensnors and non-contact measurement method.

  • In this paper, a method for implementing software for the control system with dual structure in processor module is proposed and implemented to enhance its reliability. In this implementation the multi-tasking function which is provided by a real-time operating system is applied. The overall softwre is divided into five tasks and is performed in each of the dual processor module, independently. By this, the processor module with dual structure can achieve a control objective and fault diagnostics effectively. An experimental result shows that the backup processor module can be substituted for the primary processor module immediately when it happens to fail, because data relating the failure information are exchanged continuously done via shared memories.

  • Display Unit(DU) of TCMS is very useful device display many data for operation and maintenance graphically. At This Time, rolling stock is reducing the wiring and size of desk for cutting down on their cost and making light weight. Dual Du(Display Unit) of TCMS could make the desk of cab simply by integrating cab's switches and gauges. Dual DU is not only can reduce the wiring and simplify desk of cab but also can making system of TCMS reliable by including backup function each other. For this reason. In this paper, advantages, application and example analysis of Dual DU of TCMS for rolling stock are described through the ongoing projects.

An Implementatin of a Multi-Channel Speech Surveillance System Over Telephone Lines

  • This paper presents an implementation of a multi-channel speech surveillance system over telephone lines using TMS320C31 DSP chips. The incoming speech into each telephone line are first compressed simultaneously in real-time by the popular vector-sum excited linear predictive (VSELP) speech coding algorithm at the rate of 8 Kbps. The compressed steech bit streams are then multiplexed with those of other users. The multiplexed speech bit streams are transferred to the system storage equipments with some other required information so that a system operator can later monitor the stored speech data whenever it is necessary. The host program runs under Microsoft Windows95 for an efficient man-machine interface and a future upgrade-ability. We have confirmed that the overall 64-channel system operates satisfactorily in realtime. We also have checked approximately up to 2,880 total hours of recording capability of the system on a playback module and two removable backup drives.

  • The COMS ground segment will operate the geostationary satellite continuously 24h/7days and deliver processed data to end-users with respect to the predefined schedule without delay. For reliable operation, each COMS ground center has internally dual-configuration for critical systems but impossible to every components. Any unexpected failure or regular maintenance to the single configured antenna system may lead the interruption of COMS service and operation. The natural disaster or external attack can destroy one ground center and the operation will be stopped. Therefore COMS program implements backup system remotely located in other centers. Even considering foreign geostationary systems, it's the best solution guaranteeing consistent system operation against internal failure or external disaster.

  • Uninterruptible power supplies are extensively used as backup power in various applications such as telecommunication systems, Internet data centers, hospitals, and military technologies. Some of these applications require a considerable number of batteries, and the maintenance of such batteries is critical for the reliability of a system. However, batteries are chemical energy storage devices that deteriorate over time and frequently inspecting their performance and suitability is difficult. A real-time remote battery inspection system that applies electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is proposed and implemented in this study. The proposed system consists of a small inspection circuit and software for control. The former is developed to monitor the impedance variation of the battery and to diagnose its state. The validity and feasibility of the proposed system is proven by experimental results.

  • 최근 악의적인 해킹이나 산업 스파이에 의한 정보유출 등이 날로 늘어남에 따라 정부 차원에서의 관련 법제도 강화나 적극적인 대응에 대한 방법론 등이 크게 대두되고 있다. 이에 컴퓨터 내에 남아있는 전자적 증거들을 실제 법적인 효력을 가지도록 하는 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 전자적 증거로서 가장 많이 사용되어지는 것이 로그 정보라 할 것이다. 기존의 로그정보는 분산된 호스트에 따른 관리의 문제와 무결성과 인증의 문제를 지니고 있다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 분산된 로그 정보를 실시간으로 암호화하여 중앙의 특정 서버에 저장하는 방법을 사용한다. 이를 통해 무결성과 출처의 인증이 보장된 실시간 정보에 의한 법적 신빙성을 획득할 수 있다.

  • This paper deals with the surge measurement system for low voltage power line of industrial plants. It consists of a capacitive divider, A/D conversion part, signal processing and control part. A FPGA and a DSP board were designed to fast signal processing and control. Also, in order to measure lightning surge and switching surge for a long time, data backup device was applied by using SD memory. A performance of the measurement system was verified through evaluation test using impulse calibration generator.
