Calibration of 6-DOF Parallel Mechanism Through the Measurement of Volumetric Error (공간오차 측정을 통한 6자유도 병렬기구의 보정)

  • This paper introduces the kinematic calibration method to improve the positioning accuracy of a parallel mechanism. Since all the actuators in the parallel mechanism are controlled simultaneously toward the target position, the volumetric errors originated from each motion element are too complicated. Therefore, the exact evaluation of the error sources of each motion element and its calibration is very important in terms of volumetric errors. In the calibration processes, the measurement of the errors between commands and trajectories is necessary in advance. To do this, a digitizer was used for the data acquisition in 3 dimensional space rather than arbitrary planar error data. After that, the optimization process that was used for reducing the motion errors were followed. Consequently, Levenberg-Marquart algorithm as well as the error data acquisition method turned out effective for the purpose of the calibration of the parallel mechanism.

Software-based Simple Lock-in Amplifier and Built-in Sound Card for Compact and Cost-effective Terahertz Time-domain Spectroscopy System

  • A typical terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system requires large, expensive, and heavy hardware such as a lock-in amplifier and a function generator. In this study, we replaced the lock-in amplifier and the function generator with a single sound card built into a typical desktop computer to significantly reduce the system size, weight, and cost. The sound card serves two purposes: 1 kHz chopping signal generation and raw data acquisition. A unique software lock-in (Python coding program to eliminate noise from raw data) method was developed and successfully extracted THz time-domain signals with a signal-to-noise ratio of ~40,000 (the intensity ratio between the peak and average noise levels). The built-in sound card with the software lock-in method exhibited sufficiently good performance compared with the hardware-based method.

  • Investigation has been carried out on the characteristics of thermally stimulated current for PVDF (polyvinylidene flouride) film, using Data Acquisition system, in the temperature range from -100[$^{\circ}C$] to 20[$^{\circ}C$]. The peaks observed, two of the diatinguished peaks such as $\delta$, $\gamma$ each of which appeared at -39[$^{\circ}C$] and -15[$^{\circ}C$] respectively. Their peaks exhibited by the depolarization in amorphous region. It proposed new numerical method for analysis of TSC spectra.

  • This paper proposes a method of a touch-based remote control and sensor information acquisition of a mobile robot using a smart phone. An application in a smart phone processes the acquired sensor information and conducts autonomous navigation. By touching the screen of the smart phone, a series of points obtained from designated curve traces are analyzed and provide control of a robot. This study develops a mobile application that acquires and handles data from a mobile robot and sends appropriate action commands through remote control using Bluetooth communication with a smart phone. The utility and performance of the proposed control scheme have been successfully verified through experimental tasks using an actual smart phone and a mobile robot.

  • SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for remote monitoring, data acquisition and control are applied to major industrial infrastructures including power, water and railroad. Recently, there are many researches on key management scheme for secure communication due to change to the open network environment. These systems are located at far distances and are connected to the main control center through various types of communication methods. Due to the nature of these systems, they are becoming the significant targets of cyber attack. We propose an efficient key management scheme which is established on ID-based cryptosystem without an expensive computation on MTU (Master Terminal Unit), Sub-MTU, and RTU (Remote Terminal Unit). The proposed method is secure and effective in key management among multiple legitimate devices.

  • This paper relates to a system for pre-processing high-definition images acquired through a camera mounted on an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) and transmitting them to a server through a mobile communication network. In the case of the existing UAV system for image acquisition service, the acquired image was stored in the external storage device of the camera mounted on the UAV, and the image was checked by directly moving the storage device after the flight was completed. In the case of this method, there is a limitation in that it is impossible to check whether image acquisition or pre-processing is properly performed before directly checking image data through an external storage device. In addition, since the data is stored only in an external storage device, there is a disadvantage that data sharing is cumbersome. In this paper, to solve the above problems, we propose a system that can remotely check images in real time. Furthermore, we propose a system and method capable of performing pre-processing such as geo-tagging and transmission through a mobile communication network in addition to image acquisition through shooting in an UAV.

A Study on Acquisition of Korean EFL College Students' Indefinite Article (한국학생들의 부정관사 습득에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to research the process of Korean students' acquiring the indefinite article. To research this , we will propose two subjects of study as below. The first subject is that we will examine whether there will be any differences of the acquisition in the indefinite article between gender, male and female. The second subject is that we will examine whether there are any differences of the acquisition by the degree of proficiency at English. The subject of a sample survey was 115 female and 80 male students, total 195 students, who take English courses as a required subject at 'C' university in Gwangju. The necessary data for this study was obtained by the Questionnaires with 19 questions about the indefinite article. The data analyzing method was ANOVA(analysis of variance between groups) through the statistics program SPSS 12.0. As a consequences of this study we found that the side of the acquisition in the indefinite article between gender, male and female is closely related in the data result of the questions and the side of the acquisition by the level of proficiency at English has the meaningful data result of 14 questions at the questionaries.

  • In this paper, we proposed image acquisition techniques that can reflect anatomical airway information lot breath change by EBCT Also, we proposed new method to detect automatically boundary of inner airway for acquired slice images using this image acquisition technology. We confirmed that new method detects boundary of inner airway effectively through computer simulation that apply image data about each slice position of airway. And, we could see change for cross section area of inner airway by time change. Therefore, we think that proposed method can utilize on quantitative analysis in clinical field.

  • This paper, UAVs of the secondary communication link that applies to the analysys of time-division communication system and communication method proposed algorithm has been developed. UAVs of the important characteristics of the data link latency and throughput, the frequency is availability, weight. The data needed to operate UAVs vehicle control data, status data, there is an acquisition. Control and data acquisition will require real-time communication. Based on the requirements being applied to the secondary communication link communication method were compared and analyzed. The results of analysis of ground-base TDD method is suitable.
