  • I had come at the conclusion of the development history of Disease Bi(痞病) reflected in Yi Cheon (李梴)'s work, "Euhakibmun(醫學入門)" in the respects of the causes, mechanism, symptoms, differential diagnosis and treatments. The causes of Disease Bi(痞病) mentioned at "Euhakibmun(醫學入門)" followed the Ju Dan-Gyeo(朱丹溪)'s theory. The mechanism of it went after the viewpoints of "Nae-Gyeong(內經)", Jang Jung-Gyeong(張仲景), Yi Dong-Won(李東垣) and Wang Ho-Go(王好古). The symptoms of it kept the Ju Dan-Gyeo(朱丹溪)'s theory. Yi Cheon distinguished Disease Bi(痞病) from Gyeol-Hyung(結胸) according to Jang Jung-Gyeong's theory. He knew it from abdominal dropsy(脹滿) according to Ju Dan-Gyeo's theory. He also divided it into two respects of deficiency(虛) and excessive(實) from Yi Dong-Won's viewpoint. Jang Jung-Gyeong first suggested that treatments of it could be selected according to the difference of deficiency, excessive(實), cold(寒), hot(熱), sputum(痰), fluid(飮), blood(血) and food(食). Yi Dong-Won insisted many doctors could make a mistake because they only used herbs for Gi(氣藥) instead of herbs for blood(血藥) together. Wang Ho-Go(王好古) maintained his opinion that treatments of both digestion(消導) and assistance(補益), remedies of bitter and hot herbs can recover patients from Disease Bi(痞病). Yi Cheon followed their theories properly.

  • Pleurotus eryngii is one of the most widely cultivated and important edible mushrooms. However, the shelf life of the fruiting body is short, which. To solve this problem, a new cultivar, DanBi 5Ho, of Pleurotus eryngii was developed by mono-mono crossing between monokaryotic strains derived from KNR2598 and KNR2610. The optimum temperature formycelial growth was 25 and that forfruiting body development was 15-16. The quality did not change after a period of 40.0 d at 4. This result was significantly different compared to that ofthe control strain Knneuari 2 Ho. Analysis of genetic characteristics of the new hybrid strain DanBi 5Ho revealeda different profile thanthat of the parental and control strains when random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) primers we used. The results obtained from this study show that DanBi 5Ho is a new hybrid strain, characterized by improved storability after harvesting.

  • Elemental carbon (EC) and organic carbon (OC) mass concentrations in PM2.5 were measured from March through October 2015 in Taehwa Research Forest (TRF). The concentration of carbon in the TRF was $3.4{\mu}g/m^3$ and the concentration of EC was $1.4{\mu}g/m^3$. Also the concentration of $OC_{sec}$ was the highest at $2.84{\mu}g/m^3$ in the summer and the lowest at 1.66 in the spring. The ratio of the secondary generation OC in the total OC was the highest at 62% in the summer. Monthly OC concentration was the lowest at $2.38{\mu}g/m^3$ in April and the highest at $6.60{\mu}g/m^3$ in July. In case of EC concentration was the lowest in April ($0.98{\mu}g/m^3$) and the highest in July ($3.41{\mu}g/m^3$). The OC/EC ratio showed the lowest ratio in March and the highest rate in September. It is suggested that the secondary generation reaction of OC component was active due to sufficient irradiation amount in summer.

  • Although omega-3 fatty acids including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contain various health-promoting effects, their poor aqueous solubility and stability make them difficult to be induced in dairy foods. The aims of this research were to manufacture casein derivative-based delivery system using acid-induced gelation method with glucono-σ-lactone and to investigate the effects of production variables, such as pH and charged amount of linoleic acid, on the physicochemical properties of delivery systems and oxidative stability of DHA during storage in model milk. Covalent modification with linoleic acid resulted in the production of casein derivatives with varying degrees of modification. As pH was reduced from 5.0 to 4.8 and the charged amount of linoleic acid was increased from 0% to 30%, an increase in particle size of casein derivative-based delivery systems was observed. The encapsulation efficiency of DHA was increased with decreased pH and increased charged amount of linoleic acid. The use of delivery system for DHA resulted in a decrease in the development of primary and secondary oxidation products. An increase in the degree of modification of casein derivatives with linoleic acid resulted in a decrease in the formation of primary and secondary oxidation products than of free DHA indicating that delivery systems could enhance the oxidative stability of DHA during storage in model milk. In conclusions, casein derivatives can be an effective delivery system for DHA and charged amount of linoleic acid played a key role determining the physicochemical characteristics of delivery system and oxidative stability of DHA.
