It has become important to evaluate the qualitive reliability and condition assessment of existing structural systems in order to establish a rational program for repair and maintenance. Since most of if existing structural system may suffer from defect corrosion and damage, it is necessary to account for their effects in fuzzy reliability analysis, In this paper, an attempt is made to develope a reliability analysis for damaged structural systems using failure possibility theory. Damage state is specified in terms of linguistic valiables using natural language information and numerical information, which are defined by fuzzy sets. Using a subjective condition index of failure possibility and information of the damage state is introduced into the calculation of failure probability. The subjective condition index of quantitative and qualitative analysis method is newly proposed based on the fuzzy set operations, namely logical product, drastic product, logical sum and drastic sum

The rail/wheel rolling contact affects the microstructure in the surface layer of rail. Recently. continuum damage mechanics allows us to describe the microprocesses involved during the straining of materials and structures at the macroscale. Elastic and plastic strains. the corresponding hardening effects are generally accepted to be represented by global continuum variables. The purpose of continuum damage mechanics is to introduce the possibility of describing the coupling effects between damage processes and the stress-strain behavior of materials. In this study. the continuum damage mechanics caused by elastic deformation was briefly introduced and applied to the fatigue damage of the rails under the condition of cyclic loading. The material parameter for damage analysis was first determined so that it could reproduce the life span under the compressive loading in the vicinity of fatigue limit. Some numerical studies have been conducted to show the validity of the present computational mechanics analysis.
In the present work a constitutive model is developed which permits the assessment of the structural performance through a criterion based on cumulative damage. For it, a damage index is defined and is evaluated through the application of the Miner's rule in low-cycle fatigue. However, the damage index is not considered as a posteriori variable since is incorporated explicitly as an internal variable in the constitutive equations which produces a direct coupling between the damage and the structural mechanical behaviour allowing the possibility of considering as a whole different coupled phenomena. For the elaboration of this damage model, the concepts of the mechanics of continuum medium are applied on lumped dissipative models in order to obtain a coupled simplified model. As a result an elastoplastic model coupled with damage and fatigue damage is obtained.
The recovery of process of brain damage caused by an acute severe cerebral hypoxia has been reported in various literatures. And the possibility of complete recovery of such case was said to be good in younger age group than in adult''s group. We experien

The agrometeorological reference index means 'the agrometeorological damage possibility' or the possibility of the normal year climate condition to damage the crop cultivation in a certain region. It is a reference used to compare the cultivation risk of a crop by region. The global climate warming is expected to increase the winter temperature. At the same time, the frequency of extreme weather events will also increase. Therefore, people pay attention to the potential of low temperature-induced damages (e.g., frost damage and injury) to fruit trees under the future climate condition. However, simple damage projection based on climate conditions does not help the climate change adaptation in the practical aspect because the climate change affects the phenology of fruit trees as well. This study predicted the phenology of the pear, peach, and apple trees by using the climate change scenarios of major regions. Furthermore, low temperature induced agrometeorological reference indices were calculated based on the effects of temperature on each plant growth stage to predict the damage possibility. It was predicted that the breaking rest would delay more in the future while the bud-burst date and flowering date will be earlier. In Daegu, Jeonju, and Mokpo, the breaking rest delayed more as time passed. The bud-burst date and flowering date of Seoul and Incheon regions were later than other regions. Seoul and Incheon showed a similar pattern, while Daegu and Jeonju revealed a similar pattern. Busan and Mokpo also showed a similar pattern. All regions were safe from the frost damage during the dormancy period. However, plants were vulnerable to frost damage between the breaking rest and the bud-burst period. Regions showed different frost damage patterns between the bud-burst period and the flowering period. During the bud-burst and flowering period, the risk level decreased in general, although the risk of some areas tended to increase.
When it grasps a total property losses and relationship of damage factors, there is possibility of reducing the natural disaster damage which is a yearly repeated. Also, checking and supply to vulnerability should be presupposed. This study aims to find out a damage factor vulnerability using a natural disaster database by Park et al(2007). And added 2005 year data to database. Total 10 damage factors are deaths(person, including missing person) injury(person), victims(person), building(thousand), vessel(thousand), cultivated land(thousand), public facilities(thousand), others(thousand), total property losses(thousand). We analyzed of correlation analysis, ratio, population, area, regional character etc for damage factors.

In this study, 2 kinds of twist run models as exercise equipments are compared by durability analyses of fatigue and vibration. Maximum equivalent stresses are shown as 3.3 MPa and 16.6 MPa at the parts of stress concentrations at models 1 and 2. As the values becomes much lower than yield stress of this models, these models are shown to be safe designs. Model 1 becomes stronger than model 2 at natural frequency analysis. Fatigue lives become lowest at four axis parts and one axis part respectively in cases of models 1 and 2. Maximum damage probability at fatigue is shown to be 2.4% near the average stress of 0 in case of model 1 but this probability becomes 0.6 % in case of model 2. Model 1 has the maximum damage possibility 4 times more than model 2 at these states. As the result of this study is applied by the design of twist run, the prevention on fatigue damage and the durability are predicted.

This study aims at the structural analysis of vibration and fatigue according to the configuration of engine mount. Maximum equivalent stress or deformation is shown at bracket or case respectively. As harmonic vibration analysis, the maximum displacement amplitude is happened at 4,000Hz. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' or 'Saw tooth' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sample history' or 'Saw tooth' with the average stress of 4,200MPa or 0MPa and the amplitude stress of -3,000MPa or 7MPa, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 70%. This stress state can be shown with 7 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The structural result of this study can be effectively utilized with the design on engine mount by investigating prevention and durability against its damage.

This study analyzes upper arm as the part of suspension through the structural analyses of fatigue. Maximum displacement is shown at the knuckle joint connected with the bracket of automotive body. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable. Maximum life at 'Sample history' or 'SAE transmission' can be shown with 60 or 3.5 times more than 'SAE bracket history' respectively. In case of 'Sample history' with the average stress of $-4{\times}10^4$ to $4{\times}10^4$ MPa and the amplitude stress 0 to $8{\times}10^4$ MPa, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 3%. This stress state can be shown with 5 or 6 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE Bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. This study result is applied with the design of upper arm and it can be useful at predicting prevention and durability against its damage.

This study investigates structural, fatigue and modal analyses at bicycle suspension seat post. When weight is applied to the saddle, models 1 and 2 have the weakest strength at the part connected with saddle. And model 2 is greater total deformation and equivalent stress than model 1. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads at models 1 and 2, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sample history' with the average stress of 0 to $-10^4MPa$ and the amplitude stress of 0 to $10^4MPa$, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 4%. This stress state can be shown with 5 to 7times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. Model 1 has better impulse relaxation and passenger sensitivity than model 2. The structural result of this study can be effectively utilized with the design of bicycle suspension seat post by investigating prevention and durability against its damage.
