위탁견에서 스트레스에 의한 혈중 Cortisol의 농도 변화 (Changes in Serum Cortisol Concentration Due to Boarding Stress in Dogs)

  • Among the dogs boarding at an animal hospital, 10 dogs each were selected as a free boarding group and a kennel boarding group. Each group was further divided into 5 puppies and 5 mature dogs to examine the changes in their serum cortisol concentrations during boarding (5 days). We collected blood at day 8 and then analyzed the blood corpuscles, ran a biochemical serum test, and an additional urine test before boarding to check their health status. After collecting the dog's blood at 9:00 am, 3:00 pm, and 9:00 pm, we analyzed the cortisol concentration by the radioimmunoassay (RIA) method. The daily serum cortisol concentration at 9:00 am, 3:00 pm, and 9:00 pm, had a circadian rhythm during both the free and kennel boarding periods in both puppies and adults. Furthermore, the average daily serum cortisol concentration was significantly increased during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd day after free boarding in the puppy group (P < 0.01). In adults from the free boarding group, the serum cortisol concentration dramatically increased on the 1st day (P < 0.01), as well as on the 2nd and 3rd day (P < 0.05). Interestingly, the average daily serum cortisol concentration was significantly increased on the 1st day after kennel boarding as well as during the entire period of kennel boarding in the puppy group (P < 0.05). In the adult kennel boarding group, serum cortisol concentration was significantly increased during the whole kennel boarding period (P < 0.01). An interesting result was that circadian rhythmicity in the sum of the daily serum cortisol concentrations was present in the free boarding group, but not in the kennel boarding group in both puppies and adults. In summary, cortisol was released depending on the degree of stress in free and kennel boarded dogs. Taken together, these results suggest that cortisol, a stress hormone, should be maintained at physiological concentrations in a circadian rhythm when the animals are hospitalized.

온라인 판매 농산물 잔류농약 실태 및 안전성 평가 (Monitoring and Safety Assessment of Pesticide Residues on Agricultural Products Sold via Online Websites)

  • 본 연구는 2014년도 온라인으로 판매되고 있는 농산물의 잔류농약 실태와 안전성 평가를 시행하였다. 총 124건의 농산물(엽채류 98건, 엽경채류 26건)을 2014년도 3월부터 8월까지 6차례 20곳의 온라인 쇼핑몰을 통해 무작위로 수거 및 전처리 후 GC-ECD/NPD와 LC-MS/MS를 사용하여 208종의 농약을 분석하였다. 실험 결과 깻잎, 깻순, 부추, 쑥, 열무, 대파, 취나물 7종 11건(8.9%)의 농산물에서 11종의 농약 19건이 검출되었다. 농산물 중 2건(깻순, 쑥)에서는 잔류허용기준치 이상의 농약이 검출되었다. 검출된 농약의 EDI(Estimated daily intake)와 ADI(Acceptable daily intake)를 비교하여 안전성 평가를 시행한 결과 %ADI가 100%를 넘는 대상은 없었으나 클로로타로닐이 잔류허용기준치 이상 검출된 깻순에서는 95.7%의 결과를 보이는 등 안전성 관리가 필요한 실정이었다. 본 연구결과는 앞으로 국가 농산물 잔류농약 안전성 검사 정책 결정의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 생각한다.

위생용지 생산 제지공장 폐수슬러지의 처리 현황 (Sludge Disposal Analysis of Sanitary Paper Manufacturing Wastewater Treatment Plant)

  • 위생용지 제조 폐수처리장에서 발생하는 슬러지를 3년간의 일일 운전일지를 토대로 분석하였다. 발생 폐기물은 79% 슬러지, 14% 재, 5%의 합성폐기물 및 기타 2%로 구성되었다. 일일 최대 슬러지 생산량은 233톤, 평균 슬러지 생산량은 113톤으로 분석되었는데, 일차 슬러지가 85% 및 이차슬러지는 15%를 차지하였다. 슬러지 탈수용 응집제의 농도는 과량 주입되고 있어 적정 응집제 주입을 위해 주기적으로 쟈테스트와 같은 부가적인 실험에 의한 주입농도의 설정이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 현재 발생되는 폐슬러지의 일부는 위탁처리되고 있고, 일부는 자체 처리되고 있지만, 장기적으로는 대부분의 폐슬러지가 제철소 슬러거의 진정재로 재활용될 계획이다.

개인화된 신호 해석을 위한 맥락 기반 생체 신호의 모델링 기법 (Physiological signal Modeling for personalized analysis)

  • 일상생활에서 활용 가능한 다양한 종류의 생체 신호 획득 및 분석 방법이 연구되고 있다. 기존의 생체 신호 분석 방법은 표준화된 임계치를 사용하여 해석한 결과를 제공하며 신호 측정 당시의 상황이 고려되지 않아 잡음 혹은 외부 환경의 영향을 받기 쉬운 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 생체 신호뿐만 아니라 기타 정황정보를 기반으로 하여 개인화된 신호를 분석하기 위한 모델(Personalized Decision Making method, PDM)을 제안한다. 개인화된 신호 해석 모델은 사용자의 맥락 정보, 사용자의 맥락 정보, 사용자의 나이, 성별, 현재의 몸 및 정신 상태, 음식 및 카페인의 섭취 여부, 측정 시간 및 측정 요일 등을 기반으로 각 맥락 간의 연관 관계를 나타내고, 이상적인 사용자의 생체 신호 예측치를 베이즈 정리를 기반으로 획득한다. 개인화된 해석 모델(ACM)을 통해 표준 임계치를 적용한 해석에 비해 인식의 정확도를 높일 수 있으며, 다양한 측정시의 조건을 알면 현재 사용자의 건강상태를 개인화된 분석과 유사한 정확도로 예측이 가능하다. 제안한 방법은 현재 관측된 관측치의 분포를 모르더라도, 현재 사용자의 상태를 맥락정보를 기반으로 하여 예측할 수 있으므로, 일반적인 데이터 모델을 기반으로 개개인에 맞는 얼굴 표정을 인식하는 연구 등에 활용이 가능하다.

서울시 보육교사의 구강보건인식도 및 구강건강관리 행태 (Recognition and performance of preschool teachers on children's oral health in Seoul)

  • Objectives : This study was performed to investigate the recognition of the educators in preschool education institutions on children's oral health promotion. Methods : The subjects of this study included 918 preschool teachers who have been performing an oral health education program for children at preschool centers in Seoul. For this study, the survey was conducted from September 2008 to November 2008 through a questionnaire. Results : It has been found that 58.5% of the given preschool institutions have implemented an oral health promotion program and 99.1% of the respondents recognized the importance of the oral health. 53.9% of the respondents used sweets as a reward for good deeds. Regarding the behaviors of oral health promotion, the daily tooth-brushing and the implementation of a regular oral check-up accounted for 69.0% and 59.5% respectively. The subjects recognized that they have responsibility for the tooth-brushing instruction(91.6%) and provision of an oral inspection(78.3%). It has been also found that the case of performing the oral health program with older age and higher work experiences was significantly high(p<0.05). Conclusions : The recognition and performance of kindergarten teachers on children's oral health affects daily life and healthful living habits of children. Therefore oral health education program for the teachers has to be developed.

치과위생사의 근골격계 자각증상과 근무환경의 관련성 (Relationship between musculoskeletal subjective symptoms and work environment in dental hygienists)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that affect working environment related musculoskeletal subjective symptoms among dental hygienists. Methods : The subjects in this study were 232 dental hygienists working at dental clinics and general hospitals in Daegu. The data has collected through the self-questionnaire survey from July 9th 2012 to July 31th. Results : 1. Musculoskeletal subjective symptoms were 85.3% in shoulder(right), 81.9% in neck, 74.6% in shoulder(left), 65.5% in wrist(right), 56.5% in lower leg(right). 2. Pain frequency of musculoskeletal subjective symptoms were the highest 24.7% in neck. Seeing the severity pain was the highest 9.0% in foot(left). The investigation of work interference related to substantially pain showed the highest 18.5% in wrist(right). 3. Musculoskeletal subjective symptoms correlated with general characteristics such as age, marital status, regular exercise and medical check-up(p<.05). 4. Musculoskeletal subjective symptoms correlated with working environments such as working career, the night treatment, the average daily number of patients handled, the average daily standing work hours, the regular rest, the major job in work place and physical burden(p<.05). Conclusions : The education or program on wrong working habits and bad postures of dental hygienists is needed to prevent musculoskeletal disorder.

초등학생의 비례적 추론 지도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Proportional Reasoning Instruction for Elementary School Children)

  • 본 연구에서는 학생들이 비례적 추론 문제에서 어떠한 어려움을 겪고 있는지, 어떠한 문제해결전략을 사용하는지를 구체적으로 살펴보고, 현행 교과서의 문제점은 무엇인지 등을 조사하여 이를 바탕으로 6-가 단계 '비례식' 단원에 관한 지도 프로그램을 개발하여 학생들의 비례적 추론에 대한 개념변화를 알아보고자 하였다. 먼저 학생들 대상의 검사지를 분석해 본 결과, 학생들은 비례적 상황 문제에서 취약함을 보였다. 이에 따라 연구자가 제작한 프로그램을 초등학교 6학년 학생들에게 적용해보고 상중하 수준에 따른 학생들의 변화를 알아보았다. 또한 실험반과 비교반의 학생들의 상중하 수준에 따른 비례추론의 특성을 비교하였다.

Wearable Intelligent Systems for E-Health

  • Due to the increasingly aging population, there is a rising demand for assistive living technologies for the elderly to ensure their health and well-being. The elderly are mostly chronic patients who require frequent check-ups of multiple vital signs, some of which (e.g., blood pressure and blood glucose) vary greatly according to the daily activities that the elderly are involved in. Therefore, the development of novel wearable intelligent systems to effectively monitor the vital signs continuously over a 24 hour period is in some cases crucial for understanding the progression of chronic symptoms in the elderly. In this paper, recent development of Wearable Intelligent Systems for e-Health (WISEs) is reviewed, including breakthrough technologies and technical challenges that remain to be solved. A novel application of wearable technologies for transient cardiovascular monitoring during water drinking is also reported. In particular, our latest results found that heart rate increased by 9 bpm (P < 0.001) and pulse transit time was reduced by 5 ms (P < 0.001), indicating a possible rise in blood pressure, during swallowing. In addition to monitoring physiological conditions during daily activities, it is anticipated that WISEs will have a number of other potentially viable applications, including the real-time risk prediction of sudden cardiovascular events and deaths.

학교건강증진사업의 실천정도, 중요성 인지도 및 개선방안 (A Study on the Performance Level, the Awareness of the Importance, and Improvement of School Health Promotion Programs)

  • Purpose: This study was carried out to suggest methods for improving school health promotion programs by investigating the daily activities and the performance level of environment management, the awareness of importance, and opinions on the revision of and knowledge about laws and regulations related to school health promotion programs. Method: The subjects of this study were 289 school nurses in Gyeongsangbuk-do. The survey used a questionnaire containing 90 questions developed by the present researcher. Data were collected from July 5 to July 21, 2006 and analyzed using SPSS 12.0 for Windows. Result: 1. Regular check-up and drinking water management got the highest score in performance level. Sexual health and drinking water management got the highest score in the awareness of importance. 2. School nurses were aware of laws and regulations related to their clients (0.93), and the revision opinion was high on the whole (3.58). 3. According to general characteristics, the more educated school nurse were (F=6.80, p=.001) and the fewer students their school had (F=4.66, p=.010), the higher their performance level in daily activities was. The shorter their career in their work was (F=4.86, p=.008), the fewer classes their school had (F=5.04, p=.007) and the fewer students their school had (F=3.83, p=.023), the higher their awareness of importance was. 4. There was not any difference in the performance level of environment management according to general characteristics. The awareness of importance was highest in school nurses with experience less then ten years (F=3.66, p=.027). 5. There was not any difference in knowledge about laws and regulations according to general characteristics. The revision opinion was high in school nurses at schools with less than 18 classrooms (F=6.04, p=.003) and less than 500 students (F=4.24, p=.015). Conclusion: When school nurses perform school health promotion programs actively and vigorously, the students can be healthy and national health promotion can be actualized fundamentally.

서울지역 PM10 농도 예측모형 개발 (Development of statistical forecast model for PM10 concentration over Seoul)

  • 본 연구는 PM10 농도에 대한 계량치 예측모형 개발을 목적으로 한다. 세 종류의 자료 (기상관측 자료, 세계기상통신망 중국 관측자료, 대기질 화학수치모델자료)를 예측인자로 사용하였으며, 일일 단기예보 시스템에 쉽게 적용할 수 있도록 시간자료를 일자료로 변환하였고 시차변환을 수행하였다. 상관분석과 다중공선성 진단을 통하여 예측인자를 선택하고 두 종류의 모형 (중회귀모형, 문턱치 회귀모형)을 각각 적합하였다. 모형 안정성 검사를 위하여 모형검증을 수행하였으며, 전체자료를 사용하여 모형을 재추정한 후 예측치와 관측치 사이의 산점도와 시계열그림, RMSE, 예측성 평가측도를 작성 및 산출하여 두 모형을 비교하였다. 문턱치 회귀모형의 예측력이 고농도 PM10예측에서 다소 우수한 결과를 보였다.
