A series of coupled-hemicyanine dyes with alkylene spacer were successfully synthesized by a reaction of coupled aldehydes with corresponding salts, respectively. These coupled dyes had more excellent thermal properties (high decomposition temperature, stiff decomposition behavior) and higher molar absorption properties than an uncoupled dye. The coupled dyes with perchlorate anions showed the strongest exothermic decomposition while those with hexafluorophosphorate anions showed endothermic decomposition. As the coupling length (n=3, 4, 5, 6) increased, thermal properties decreased and dyes with even spacer was more thermally stable than dyes with odd spacer. Among several coupled dyes, C4-NP-ClO4 and C4-Cl-ClO4 exhibited the best recording properties with the lowest jitter value of 7.5∼9.5% in authoring disc.

CD(Compact Disc) 호환성을 가지는 고밀도 재생전용 및 기록재생용 DVD(Digital Video Disc) 기기의 광학픽업 2중 엑츄에이터 구조를 콤팩트하게 할 수 있는 단일 엑츄에이터 설계법을 제시한다. 설계된 엑츄에이터는 가동부에 CD용 대물렌즈와 DVD용 대물렌즈를 함께 장착하고, 사용 디스크에 따라 가동부를 축주위로 회전시켜서 대물렌즈를 전환하는 축습동형 구조를 하고, 자기 스프링에 의하여 부동된다. 감쇠방식으로서는 가동부와 축사이의 쿨롱마찰을 이용하고, 가동부는 유한요소법(FEM)을 통해, 서보대역내에서 2차 진동모드가 발생하지 않도록 한다. 본 논문의 설계법을 검증하기 위하여 시제품을 제작하고, 동특성을 측정, 평가한다.

본 논문에서는 변형된 유클리드(Modified Euclid) 알고리즘을 이용한 {{{{ { GF}_{ } }}}}(2\sup 8\)의 Reed-Solomon(RS) 복호기에 대하여 VLSI로 설계하였다. 면적의 관점에서 효율적인 설계를 위하여 레지스터와 유클리드 ALU를 최대로 공유하는 여러 가지의 새로운 구조를 제안하였다. 에러 위치 다양식 (σ(χ))과 에러 평가 다항식 (ω(χ))을 계산하기 위하여 16개의 ALU 대신에 1개의 ALU를 사용하였으며, 이들 다항식의 계수를 저장하기 위한 레지스터를 24개 대신에 18개를 사용하였다. VHDL을 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 행하고 FLEX\sup TM\ FPGAF를 이용하여 구현을 행함으로써 제안한 구조에 대한 정확성을 검증하였으며 DVD(Digital Versatile Disc)시스템을 위하여(208,192,17) RS 부호와 (182,172,11) RS 부호에 대한 복호 기능을 갖는 RS 복호기를 0.6㎛의 CMOS TLM Compass\sup TM 라이브러리를 사용하여 게이트 숫자가 약 17,000 이고, 코어 면적이 2.299×2.284(5.25㎟)인 VLSI로 설계함으로써 효용성을 검증하였다. 한편, 설계한 칩은20MHz로 동작함을 확인하여 DVD의 요구조건인 3.74MHz를 만족함을 확인하였다.

최근 들어, 광 기록 저장 시스템을 위한 다양한 기록 방식들이 연구되고 있다. BD (Blu-ray Disc)나 HD-DVD (High-Definition Digital Versatile Disc) 기록 방식의 표준화가 진행된 후에 차세대 광 기록 방식에 대한 관련 업계의 초점이 모아지고 있다. 이러한 차세대 광 기록 저장 시스템 가운데 기술의 호환성이 장점인 Super-RENS (Super-Resolution Near Field Structure) 기술이 유력한 후보 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 Super-RENS 디스크를 위한 신경망 기반의 비선형 등화기 (NNEQ)를 제안하였다. 비선형 심볼간 간섭 (Inter-Symbol Interference : ISI)을 제거하기 위해 신경망의 한 종류인 NARX (Nonlinear AutoRegressive eXogenous) 모델을 적용하였다. Super-RENS 디스크로부터 획득한 RF 신호 샘플들을 사용하여 모의실험을 수행한 결과, 제안된 비선형 등화기의 성능은 비트오율 측면에서 등화기가 없는 경우나 기존의 Limit-EQ 보다 우수한 성능을 나타내었다.

본 논문에서는 고밀도 DVD(Digital Versatile Disc) 시스템(4.7GB～l5GB)을 위한 신호 검출기법을 제안하고 FPGA로 구현한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 FDTrS/DF (Fixed Delay Trellis Search with Decision Feedback)는 트렐리스 구조를 사용하므로 FDTS/DF나 SSD/DF(Signal Space Detection with Decision Feedback)와 같이 이진 가지 구조를 사용하는 신호검출방식에 비해 더 나은 성능을 얻을 수 있다. 또한 FDTrS/DF는 한 단의 트렐리스 구조를 사용해 역추적을 하지 않으므로 하드웨어의 복잡도와 속도면에서 향상된 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 또한 본 논문에서는 하드웨어 구현 시 동작 속도의 향상을 위해 파이프라인 기법과, 계산량 감소를 위해 절대값 분기거리를 사용한다.

In optical disc system, lens actuator of 4-wire has unwanted moment which occurs tilt. The moment around the axis pallet to the tangential direction of the disk occurs to the moving part. when the moving part is moved in tracking direction and focus driving force is applied. This paper analyzed coupled effect due to the moment based on structural analysis and magnetic field analysis, both using finite element method.

In optical disc system, 4-wire actuator has undesired tilt which degenerates the performance of RF signal. This tilt occurs from moment around the axis parallel to the tangential direction of the disk. The main reason of the moment is the coupling effect between focus driving system and tracking driving system. This paper constructed tilt mechanism and analyzed tilt quantity due to the moment based on structural analysis and magnetic field analysis. And the experiment about tilt was executed. The results were compared and discussed about the difference. Then, the design method for reducing tilt angle was suggested.

We have developed an optical pickup head for blu-ray disc. We have adopted a liquid crystal panel to compensate thickness difference of cover layer. By disposing DVD/CD compatible objective inside the BD objective in disc radial direction, we could realize a backward compatibility. Furthermore we have inserted a polarization diffractive optical element to reduce the influence from the other layer in BD dual layer.

In order to measure signal quality of optical disc such as CD or DVD, jitter is used traditionally. The signal attained from a disc by optical pick-up is processed by analog circuits. And then, binary signal can be obtained by using proper silcer. After the signal is changed into binary format, jitter is calculated as a time difference between the binary signal and the reference time. Jitter is used to express the signal quality. In this paper, a new method that is able to offer more precise measurement of the signal quality fur high density optical disc than the jitter is proposed. We named it LPSNR (Level Peak Signal to Noise Ratio). The relationship between bER (bit error rate) and LPSNR is shown in the paper.

최근 들어, 광 기록 저장 시스템을 위한 다양한 기록 방식들이 연구되고 있다. BD (Blue-ray Disc)나 HD-DVD (High-Definition Digital Versatile Disc) 기록 방식의 표준화가 진행된 후에 차세대 광 기록 방식에 대한 관련 업계의 초점이 모아지고 있다. 이러한 차세대 광 기록 저장 시스템 가운데 기술의 호환성이 장점인 Super-RENS (Super-Resolution Near field Structure) 기술이 유력한 후보 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 HOS (Higher-Order Statistics)에서 사용되는 bicoherence 테스트를 통해 Super-RENS read-out 신호의 비선형성을 분석하고, Super-RENS 시스템의 비선형 모델링을 위해 신경망을 적용하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 고려하는 모델 구조는 NARX (Nonlinear AutoRegressive eXogenous) 모델이다. 모의실험 결과, Super-RENS read-out 신호의 비선형성이 존재함을 알 수 있었고, Super-RENS 시스템의 비선형 모델링을 위해 신경망이 유용하게 활용될 수 있다는 가능성을 확인하였다.
