Detection of Equipment Faults at Sequencing Batch Reactor Using Dynamic Time Warping (동적시간와핑을 이용한 연속회분식 반응기의 장비고장 감지)

  • The biological wastewater treatment plant, which uses microbial community to remove organic matter and nutrients in wastewater, is known as its nonlinear behavior and uncertainty to operate. Therefore, operation of the biological wastewater treatment process much depends on observation and knowledge of operators. The manual inspection of human operators is essential to manage the process properly, however, it is impossible to detect a fault promptly so that the process can be exposed to improper condition not securing safe effluent quality. Among various process faults, equipment malfunction is critical to maintain normal operational state. To detect equipment faults automatically, the dynamic time warping was tested using on-line oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) and dissolved oxygen (DO) profiles in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR), which is a type of wastewater treatment process. After one cycle profiles of ORP and DO were measured and stored, they were warped to the template profiles which were prepared already and the distance result, accumulated distance (D) values were calculated. If the D values were increased significantly, some kinds of faults could be detected and an alarm could be sent to the operator. By this way, it seems to be possible to make an early detecting of process faults.

  • Dynamic Programming Matching (DPM) is a mathematical optimization technique for sequentially structured problems, which has, over the years, played a major role in providing primary algorithms in pattern recognition fields. Most practical applications of this method in signature verification have been based on the practical implementational version proposed by Sakoe and Chiba [9], and il usually applied as a case of slope constraint p = 0. We found, in this case, a modified version of DPM by applying a heuristic (forward seeking) implementation is more efficient, offering significantly reduced processing complexity as well as slightly improved verification performance.

  • In this study, dynamic time warping(DTW) is utilized especially for automatically segmenting ECG(Electrocardiogram) signal to extract a periodic time information. For the possible medical application for diagnosing the abnormalities of ECG, the relative metric distance of the warped ECG signals are computed to decide whether the abrupt variations of ECG signal occur or not.

  • 본 연구는 우리나라의 지역별 미세먼지 발생 데이터에 대한 수집과 그에 대한 분석, 처리 방법에 대한 연구로 수집된 미세먼지 데이터에 대한 클러스터링 메소드를 설계하고 구현하는 것을 목표로한다. 본 연구에서는 기상청 산하의 30여개의 관측소에서 측정된 미세먼지 데이터를 기반으로 클러스터링 작업에 대한 전처리를 실시한다. 이러한 전 처리에는 각 관측소의 미세먼지 데이터의 시계열 그래프의 유사도를 비교하기 위하여 Dynamic Time Warping알고리즘을 활용하였으며 이를 통해 산출되는 DTW값을 통하여 유사도가 높은 미세먼지 측정 지역별 클러스터링을 수행해 클러스터링 군별 미세먼지 발생 원인에 대한 분석과 대비, 피해저감 방안등의 대책 마련을 위한 자료로서 활용됨을 목적으로 한다.

  • 본 논문은 DTW(Dynamic Time Warping)을 이용한 음성인식에서 표준패턴(reference patterns)으로 사용되는 벡터열을 GA(Genetic Algorithm)을 이용하여 보다 적응된 패턴의 벡터열로 생성하는 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문의 필요성은 다음과 같다. 음성인식의 주요한 엔진들 중에 하나로 DTW가 사용된다[1]. DTW는 표준패턴과 시험패턴(test patterns)간의 최적 경로(optimal path)를 찾아내어 가장 유사한 패턴을 찾아내는 방법을 말한다. 그러나 음성은 같은 발음에 대해서도 사람의 발성 길이와 목의 상태 등에 따라 다양한 패턴으로 나타나며 동일 화자의 같은 어휘도 시간과 환경에 따라 변한다. 따라서 이러한 음성의 동적 특성에 적응하는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제에 대한 해결 방법으로 GA를 이용하여 보다 적합하고 적응적인 표준 패턴을 생성시켜 적응하는 방법을 개발하였다.

  • 이 논문에서는 쿼리-바이-싱잉/허밍 (Query-by-singing/humming, QbSH) 시스템에서의 거리 함수를 다양화하면서 그 성능 변화를 살펴본다. QbSH는 디지털 음악의 사용이 보편화되면서 음악 검색의 방법으로 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔으며, 많은 경우, dynamic time warping (DTW) 방법으로 사용해서 정합하고 있다. 그러나, DTW에서 사용하는 거리에 대해서는 특별한 관심을 가지지 않았으며, 일반적으로 절대적 차이값이나 그것의 제곱값을 많이 사용해 왔다. 이 논문에서는 여러 가지 거리에 대해서 성능을 측정하였다. 성능측정은 특정한 시스템에서 이루어진 것이기 때문에 일반성을 가지지 않을 수 있으나, DTW에서 사용하는 거리를 기존의 것과 다른 것으로 변화시켜서 성능을 향상시킬 가능성이 있음을 이 논문에서는 밝힌다. 본 논문에서는 10-12초 길이의 1000번의 쿼리 (Query)에 대해서 28시간 정도의 데이터베이스에서 실험한 결과, 논문에서 제안하는 거리가 기존의 절대적 차이값을 사용한 것보다 제1후보 검출 정확도가 10% 가량 상승함을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper intends to provide convenience to the disabled, losing the use of their limbs, through voice recognition technology. The voice recognition part of this system recognizes voice by DTW (Dynamic Time Warping) Which is most Widely used in Speaker dependent system. Specially, S/N rate was improved through Wiener filter in the pre-treatment phase while considering real environmental conditions; the result values of 12th order feature pattern per frame are extracted by DTW algorithm using LPC and Cepsturm in feature extraction process. Furthermore, miniaturization is pursued using TMS320C32, 71's the floating-point DSP, for the hardware part. Currently, 90% of hardware porting has been completed, but we can confirm that the recognition rate was 96% as a result of performing the DTW algorithm in PC.

Effective Handwriting Verification through DTW and PCA (DTW와 PCA에 기반한 효과적인 필적 검증)

  • In this paper, we propose a new handwriting verification method using pattern analysis in off-line environments. The proposed method first segments character regions in a document and extracts effective features from the segmented regions. It then estimates the similarity between the extracted non-linear features and reference ones by using dynamic time warping and principal component analysis. Our handwriting verification method extracts handwriting features effectively and enables the verification of handwriting with various lengths of features as well as ones of short patterns. The experimental results show that our method outperforms others in terms as accuracy. We expect that the proposed method will automate the manual handwriting verification tasks and provide much objectivity on handwriting identification.

Binary Tree Architecture Design for Support Vector Machine Using Dynamic Time Warping (DTW를 이용한 SVM 기반 이진트리 구조 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose the classifier structure design algorithm using DTW. Proposed algorithm uses DTW result to design the binary tree architecture based on the SVM which classify the multi-class data. Design the binary tree architecture for Support Vector Machine(SVM-BTA) using the threshold criterion calculated by the sum columns in square matrix which components are the reference data from each class. For comparison the performance of the proposed algorithm, compare the results of classifiers which binary tree structure are designed based on database and k-means algorithm. The data used for classification is 333 signals from 18 classes of underwater transient noise. The proposed classifier has been improved classification performance compared with classifier designed by database system, and probability of detection for non-biological transient signal has improved compare with classifiers using k-means algorithm. The proposed SVM-BTA classified 68.77% of biological sound(BO), 92.86% chain(CHAN) the mechanical sound, and 100% of the 6 kinds of the other classes.

  • The speech includes various kinds of information : language information, speaker's information, affectivity, hygienic condition, utterance environment etc. when a person communicates with others. All technologies to utilize in real life processing this speech are called the speech technology. The speech technology contains speaker's information that among them and it includes a speech which is known as a speaker recognition. DTW(Dynamic Time Warping) is the speaker recognition technology that seeks the pattern of standard speech signal and the similarity degree in an inputted speech signal using dynamic programming. ln this study, using TMS320C32 DSP processor, we are to embody this DTW and to construct a security system.
