In this paper, we present DTD-dependent object database schema design methods to efficiently store XML data and process path expression. The similarity between DTD graph model and the object database model, and the characteristics of object database, object references and set-valued attributes, are very profitable to store XML documents into object databases. We propose two kinds of schema design methods. We then compare and anayze space and time complexity for the methods.

최근 사용이 증가하고 있는 SGML 전자 문서들은 객체 지향 데이터베이스를 통해 보다 효과적으로 관리할 수 있다. 이를 위해서는 SGML DTD를 체계적으로 다룰 수 있는 객체 지향 방법론이 요구되는데, 이에 따라 새로운 객체 지향 다이아그래밍 방법으로 XOMT도[3]가 제안된 바 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 XOMT도로 설계한 SGML DTD 문서를 객체 지향 데이터베이스에 체계적으로 관리할 수 있도록 XOMT도-DB 상호 변환 시스템(TSXD)을 개발한 내용을 기술한다. TSXD는 크게 XOMT도 관리 부시스템(XDMS), XOMT도-DTD 변환 부시스템(XDTS), DTD-XOMT도 변환 부시스템(DXTS)으로 구성되어 있다.

In this paper, we propose a technique to represent a sheet music effectively on the Internet. For representing the Internet sheet music, this paper proposes the ScoreML(Score Markup Language) which is a new markup language based on XML, and describes the design of the XML DTD which defines the ScoreML. XML DTD constructing the ScoreML is designed to be able to represent various features of a sheet music in order to retrieve the real sheet music on the Internet. The sheet music built by the ScoreML is directly displayed on the Internet by ScoreML browser which is implemented in the form of Java applet.

An equivalent schema matching among several different source schemas is very important for information integration or mining on the XML based World Wide Web. Finding most similar source schema corresponding mediated schema is a major bottleneck because of the arbitrary nesting property and hierarchical structures of XML DTD schemas. It is complex and both very labor intensive and error prune job. In this paper, we present the first complex matching of XML schema, i.e. XML DTD, inlining two dimensional DTD graph into flat feature values. The proposed method captures not only schematic information but also integrity constraints information of DTD to match different structured DTD. We show the integrity constraints based hierarchical schema matching is more semantic than the schema matching only to use schematic information and stored data.

정보추출 기법을 논의할 때 핵심 역할을 차지하는 것이 추출 패턴(규칙)을 표현하는 종류와 규칙을 만들어 내는 기계학습의 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 mDTD(modified Document Type Definition)라는 새로운 추출패턴을 제안한다. mDTD는 SGML에서 사용되는 DTD를 구문과 해석 방식을 변형하여 일반적인 HTML에서의 정보추출에 활용되도록 설계하였다. 이러한 개념은 DTD가 문서에 나타나는 객체를 지정하는 역할을 하는 것을 역으로 mDTD를 이용하여 문서에 나타는 객체를 식별하는데 사용하는 것이다. mDTD 규칙을 순차기계학습으로 확장시켜서 한국어와 영어로된 인터넷 쇼핑몰 중에서 AV(Audio and Visual product) 도메인에 적용하여 실험하였다 실험 결과로 정보추출의 평균 정확도은 한국어와 영어에 대해서 각각 91.3%와 81.9%를 얻었다.

XML is a markup language which has been accepted in various fields such as digital libraries, electronic commerce, and web applications. Research for creation, storage, management, and retrieval of XML documents is essential to develope XML application systems. This paper presents design and implementation details of powerful and convenient DTD authoring tools for XML documents. The design principles are authoring convenience, semi-automatic creation of valid and reliable document DTD by systematic guidance to reduce the possibility of syntax errors, and visualization of document structures.

기존의 데이터를 인터넷상에서 XML 데이터 형태로 전송 시 부하를 줄이기 위해 DTD가 없는 형태로 전송하지만, 전송 받은 XML 데이터에 대한 저장 및 질의처리를 최적화하기 위해서는 DTD 추출이 필요하다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 반구조적 데이터의 특징을 갖는 XML 데이터에 대한 DTD를 추출하기 위해 기존의 데이터로그(DataLog)를 이용하여 반구조적 데이터의 최소 경계 스키마를 추출하는 방법보다 향상된 방법인 시뮬레이션을 이용한 최소 경계 스키마 추출 방법을 제시함으로써 보다 효율적인 DTD 추출을 가능하게 하는 방범을 제시한다.

인터넷에 산재해 있는 분산 이질의 대규모 정보들을 통합, 관리하기 위한 기본 모델로서 최근 정보교환 표준으로 인정받고 있는 XML을 사용할 수 있다. HMS(Hallym Mediator System)는 XML을 기본 데이터 모델로 하는 미디에이터 시스템으로서 뷰(View) DTD의 정의, 추론 기능을 이용하여 웹 상의 분산, 이질 정보의 통합 기능을 제공한다. 뷰 DTD는 관리자에 의하여 정의되어, 추론 및 보완 과정을 거쳐 생성되며, 웹 상의 통합된 가상 정보 구조를 표현한다. 웹 상의 사용자는 이와 같이 생성된 뷰 DTD를 근거로 분산이질 정보에 대한 구조정보 및 내용정보에 대한 질의를 수행할 수 있다. HMS에서는 DTD 구동형 비주얼 사용자 인터페이스를 제공하여, 관리자와 일반 사용자에게 직관적이고 간편한 웹 정보 브라우징 및 질의검색 환경을 제공한다.

본 논문에서 다루는 SGML 문서편집기는 파서를 내포하는 구조로서, 문서편집을 위하여 DTD 가 입력되고, 입력된 DTD 는 DTD 파서에 의해 적합성을 점검하게 된다. DTD 파서는 표준규칙에 따라 DTD를 파싱하고, 결과를 편집처리에 적합한 BNF-스타일 형태로 변환된 문법 테이블을 생성한다. SGML 문서 편집은 문법테이블 정보에 따라 처리된다. 문법 테이블의 크기는 엘리먼트 선언내용 중 컨텐트 모델의 표현에 따라 결정된다. 그 중 and(&) 접속자는 엘리먼트 개수에 따라 문법수가 기하급수적으로 증가하므로 DTD 파서에 의해 처리된다면 속도나 비용면에서 비효율적이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 고정된 문법테이블을 이용하는 SGML 편집기에 and 접속자로 표현된 엘리먼트 문법을 동적으로 확정 처리할 수 있는 기능이 추가 향상된 구문지향적 SGML 문서편집기를 제시한다. 그러므로 향상된 구문지향 SGML 문서편집기는 고정된 문법을 이용한 문서편집 뿐 아니라 편집처리에 따른 변환에 능동적으로 처리할 수 있다는 특징을 갖게된다.
