The Internet has gained popularity because it provides various information in digital format. However, it is very difficult to provide methods which make it possible to search adequate information resource from bulk of Internet information. In this paper, we define a SGML metadata DTD, named SeriCore, and design and implement a metadata retrieval and management system which can store, retrieve and manage the Internet metadata efficiently.

Recently, an integrated electronic publishing format that can be used by disabled people and the general public is expected. If applied to national alternative material production strategy, it is expected that not only the problem of alternative material production strategy using existing DTD(Document Type Definition) but also various alternative material corresponding to the demand of consumer can be supplied. In order to cope with changes in the production and management strategy of the substitute materials for the rapidly changing persons with disabilities, it is necessary to develop the substitute materials related to the substitute materials, such as 'production of alternative materials', 'research and education of alternative material', and 'operation of alternative material network' The organization of the National Library for the Disabled should be expanded and reorganized so that a constructed center can be established and demonstrated its expertise.

HyTime(Hypermedia/Time-based Structuring Language), an international standard language to describe hypermedia electronic documents, is used to support the synchronization between various multimedia data for hypermedia applications. To manage the HyTime documents efficiently for shared environment, the logical structure information of them should be managed by database in a systematic way. In this Paper, we design a meta-database schema of HyTime DTDs(Document Type Definition) which define the logical structure of hypermedia documents and show how to manage the meta-database schema for storing the HyTime DTDs in the object-oriented database.

XML is emerging as a standard data format to exchange and to present data on the Web. There are increasing needs to efficiently store and to query XML data. In this paper. we propose a new schema transformation algorithm based on a common structure extracting technique from XML documents. The common structure is shared by all XML documents referenced by DTD and the uncommon structure is ununiformly appeared on all XML documents referenced by DTD. Based on the extracted common and uncommon structures, we transform XML DTD into relational database schema. We conduct a performance evaluation based on the number of the generated tables, the size of the record, query processing time and the number of joins on the query. The performance of our algorithm is compared with the existing algorithms, then in most cates, our algorithm is better than the existing ones with respect to the number of the generated tables and appearance of NULL values in the tables.

This paper is for the design and implementation of SGML document presentation system to format SGML document based on DSSSL. ISO/lEC proposed DSSSL as the technological standard for formatting and transforming SGML document. This paper shows the design of this system in accordance with the model defined in DSSSL. This system, which is able to provide Korean, has parsing function of arbitrary DTDs, SGML documents and DSSSL style sheets, and contains a formatter that can manage various specifications, such as graphs, lists, pictures, as well as text. This will satisfy a user's intent for exchange of SGML documents that involve format information between different types, greatly contribute to make up SGML document processing environment.

The Call Processing Language (CPL, in short), recommended in RFC 2824 of IETF, is a service description language for the Internet Telephony. The CPL allows users to define their own services, which dramatically improves the choice and flexibility of the users. The syntax of the CPL is strictly defined by DTD (Document Type Definition). However, compliance with the DTD is not a sufficient condition for correctness of a CPL script. There are enough rooms for non-expert users to make semantical mistakes in the service logic, which could lead to serious system down. In this paper, we present six classes of semantic warnings for the CPL service description: MF, IS, CR, AS, US, OS. For each class, we give the definition and its effects with an example script. These warnings are not necessarily errors. However, these warnings will help users to find ambiguity, redundancy and inconsistency in their own service description.

본 논문은 인터넷상에서 사용이 가능하며 확장성이 뛰어난 XML을 이용하여 B2B (Business to Business) 사이에 사용되는 EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) 문서를 표현함으로써 이기종 시스템과 응용 프로그램간의 원활한 문서 유통을 이룰 수 있는 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해 기존 EDI 표준인 UN/EDIFACT 메시지 전송 항목에 기반하여 문서형 정의부(Document Type Definition, DTD)를 개발했으며 메시지 수행 지침서(Message Implementation Guide, MIG)를 이용하여 템플리트를 구성하였다. 동적인 XML/EDI 문서를 생성하기 위하여 트랜잭션 처리기 및 생성된 XML 문서의 표현을 위하여 XML 스타일 언어(eXtensible Stylesheet Laguage, XSL)를 자동으로 생성, 변경할 수 있는 XSL 편집기를 개발하였다. 또한 변환 처리기를 두어 기존 EDI 시스템과 원활하게 문서를 교환할 수 있도록 설계 구현하였다.

본 논문에서는 XML 문서를 관계형 데이터베이스에 저장하는 XML 문서 저장 시스템을 제안한다. 제안 시스템은 XML 문서 구조인 DTD(Document Type Definition)를 보완한 XML Schema를 XML 문서의 기반 구조로 사용하며, 또한 XML 문서의 저장과 색인의 효율성 밀 유효성 검사를 위해 XML 문서에 대한 저장구조를 XML Schema와 XML Instance 문서간의 통함 정적 테이블과 필드들을 가지는 형태로 생성, 처리토록 하였으며, 그 결과 XML 문서와 XML Schema간의 구조상의 유효성을 증대시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

웹 기반의 교육의 활성화로 이를 학습에 응용하기 위한 노력으로 GVA(Global Virtual Academy) 등과 같은 학습 보조 도구가 많이 발표하고 있는 설정이다. 대부분의 학습 보조 도구들은 각각의 특성들만 제시할 뿐 통합된 표준호가 되어 있지 않다. 최근 가상교육에서 학습기술이 상호운용성에 기반한 표준화의 일반적인 필요성을 인식하게 됨에 다라 가상교육의 국제표준을 소개하고 체계적으로 AICC(Aviation Industry CBT Committee), IMS Global Learning Consortium, ADL(Advanced Distributed Learning)을 중심으로 진행되어 오고 있다. 웹 기반의 교육을 통한 질의 응답의 학습방법을 고려한 도구가 없으므로 질의 응답 학습 도구(QALT)지원을 위한 표준화된 LTSA(Learning Technology Standard Architecture) 기반 시스템을 학습 객체에 대한 질의 응답과 개방형 단순 질의 응답 측면으로 구현한다. 그러므로 개방형 단순 질의 응답 측면을 구현하기 위해 학습 기술의 표준화로 제시되어 있는 LOM(Learning Object Metadata)을 통해 설계 자체를 체계화하고 전체적으로 명세 작업을 가능하게 하여 일관성을 유지하는 정련화된 문서로 질의 응답할 수 있도록 한다. 또한, Web 상에서의 Network delivery와 DTD(Document Type Definition)와 Stylesheet를 사용자가 쉽게 수정 가능하며 다양한 Linking Type을 제공하므로 단순 질의 응답 문서의 형식을 XML로 한다

As XML has become and emerging standard for information exchange on the World Wide Web it has gained attention in database communities of extract information from XML seen as a database model. Data in XML can be mapped to semistructured dta model based on edge-labeled graph and queries can be processed against it Here we propose new query optimization techniques using DTDs(Document Type Definitions) which have the schema information about XML data. Our techniques reduce traditional index techniques Also, as they preserve source database structure, they can process many kinds of complex queries. we implemented our techniques and provided preliminary performance results.
