트랠리스 부호화된 MDPSK의 흐름 다중심볼 차동검파 (Sliding Multiple Symbol Differential Detection of Trellis-coded MDPSK)

  • In this paper, the idea of using a multiple symbol obervation interval to improve error probability performance is applied to differential detection of MTCM(multiple trellis code modulation) with ${\Pi}$/4 shift QPSK, 8DPSK and 16DPSK. We propose two types of sliding multiple symbol differential detection algorithm, type 1 and type 2. The two types of sliding detection scheme are examined and compared with conventional(symbol-by-symbol) detection and bolck detection with these modulation formats in an additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) using the Monte Carlo simulation. We show that the amount of improvement over conventional and block detection depends on the number of phases and the number of additional symbol intervals added to the observation. Computer simulagtion results are presented for 2,4,8 states in AWGN channel.

New Evaluation on the Selective Diversity Systems for the Detection of M-ary PSK & DPSK Signals over Rayleigh Fading Channels

  • When the M-ary signal experiences the Rayleigh fading, the diversity schemes can reduce the effect of fading since the probability that all the signals components will fade simultaneously is reduced considerably. The symbol error probabilities for various M-ary signals, such as MDPSK(M-ary DPSK) and MPSK(M-ary PSK), are mathematically derived for the Selection Combining 2(SC-2) and Selection Combining 3(SC-3) demodulation system which requires a less complex receiver than maximum ratio combining(MRC). The propagation model used in this paper is the frequency-nonselective slow Rayleigh fading channel corrupted by the additive white gaussian noise(AWGN). The numerical results presented in this paper are expected to provide information for the design of radio system using M-ary modulation method for above mentioned channel environment.

  • 이 논문에서는 나카가미 감쇄가 존재하는 채널환경에서 대역 여파기를 통과한 수신 신호의 위상 오류와 포락선에 대한 확률 밀도 함수를 유도한다. 유도된 확률 밀도 함수를 이용하여 나카가미 감쇄 환경에서 동기 BPSK, 비동기 FSK, DPSK 그리고 비동기 ASK의 오류 확률을 새로운 방법으로 유도한다.

Evaluation on the Selective Combining for the Detection of M-ary DPSK Signals over Nakagami Fading Channels

  • The performances of M-ary DPSK(MDPSK) for diversity reception theoretically are derived, using an L-branch selection combining(SC) in frequency-nonselective slow Nakagami fading channels. For integer values of the Nakagami fading parameter m, An exact closed-form symbol error rate(SER) multichannel performance that can be easily evaluated via numerical integration is presented. Finally, we compare these analyses with numerical analyses with integral-form expressions for the performance of MDPSK signals under the effect of two-branch SC diversity over slow and nonselective Rician fading channels with additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN).

A VLSI Architecture for Novel Decision Feedback Differential Phase Detection with an Accumulator

  • This paper proposes a novel decision feedback differential phase detection (DF-DPD) for M-ary DPSK. A conventional differential phase detection method for M-ary Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) can simplify the receiver architecture. However, it possesses a poorer bit error rate (BER) performance than coherent detection because of the prior noisy phase sample. Multiple-symbol differential detection methods, such as maximum likelihood differential phase detection, Viterbi-DPD, and DF-DPD using L-1 previous detected symbols, have attempted to improve BER performance. As the detection length, L, increases, the BER performance of the DF-DPD improves but the complexity of the architecture increases dramatically. This paper proposes a simplified DF-DPD architecture replacing the conventional delay and additional architecture with an accumulator. The proposed architecture also improves BER performance by minimizing the current differential phase noise through the accumulation of previous differential phase noise samples. The simulation results show that the BER performance of the proposed architecture approaches that of a coherent detection with differential decoding.

  • Recently, there a lot of activities on the researches that implement many kinds of control system using power lines. To implement that, it is desirable to use hybrid PSK model because it takes advantage of PSK and DPSK which has a low-bit-error rate. In this parer, we implement the transmitter of this model. Because the power line is not designed for the data communication, we separated the signal generator circuit and the signal loading circuit so that minimized noises from outside. Also, to make it easy on the experiments, most of process are performed by software. As a result, transmitting a high frequency signal on the power line made no effects on the electrical devices.

  • Up today, nationally published research results on the methods used in HA modems have studied and shown the major methods; the ASK method and the DS/SS method. In this paper, we applied the DPSK reception method on the PSK method so that solved the acquisition and tracking problem of the signal synchronization which is the defect of PSK. Also, it has been designed to fit in the CISRP and CENELEC specification so that make sure of no effects on other part of the system.

  • 본 논문에서는 주파수 비선택적 느린 Nakagami M-분포 페이딩 채널에서 비동기 M진 FSK 시스템의 비트 오류 확률을 수신 신호의 포락선 분포에 대한 확률 분포 함수로부터 구한다. 또한 동기 M 진 FSK 시스템의 성능은 동일한 페이딩 채널에서 결합 한계(union bound)를 사용하여 이론적으로 해석된다. 그런 다음 M진 FSK신호에 대한 비트 오류 확률을 DPSK에 대한 오류 확률과 비교하여 시스템의 성능을 비교한다.

  • DS-CDMA 시스템에서 제한된 대역내에 최소의 MAI(Multiple-Access Interference) 값을 갖는 chip waveform design과 그에 대한 성능 평가는 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 참고문헌 [1]에서 제안된 최적화된 칩 파형 4가지를 근사화하여 해석적 형태로 제시하였고, rectangular, half.sine, raised-cosine 등의 세 가지 기존 파형과 MAI 특성을 비교하여 제안한 칩 파형이 우수함을 확인하였다. 그리고 DPSK 변조방식을 사용한 DS-CDMA 시스템이 Rayleigh와 Nakagami-m 페이딩 채널에서 각 칩 파형의 BER과throughput을 분석하였다. $10^{-3}$ 의 요구 BER에서 수용 가능한 사용자 수를 비교해 보면 제안한 4가지 칩 파형 중 waveform 1의 칩 파형이 기존의 우수한 성능을 는 raised-cosine 파형보다 약 20 % 성능 개선된다. 또한 offered traffic이 30이고 패킷당 비트 수 N$_{d}$가 14인 경우, 최대 throughput을 비교하면 raised-cosine.파형에 비해 최적 waveform 1이 약 18 % 더 우수한 성능을 갖는다.
