The Algorithm of Brightness Control Disparity Matching in Stereoscopic (스테레오 스코픽에서 밝기 조정 정합 알고리즘)

  • This paper presents an efficient disparity matching, using sum of absolute difference (SAD) and dynamic programming (DP) algorithm. This algorithm makes use of one of area-based algorithm which is the absolute sum of the pixel difference corresponding to the window size. We use the information of the right eye brightness (B) and the left eye brightness to get an best matching results and apply the results to the left eye image using the window go by the brightness of the right eye image. This is that we can control the brightness. The major feature of this algorithm called SAD+DP+B is that although Root Mean Square (RMS) performance is slightly less than SAD+DP, due to comparing original image, its visual performance is increased drastically for matching the disparity map on account of its matching compared to SAD+DP. The simulation results demonstrate that the visual performance can be increased and the RMS is competitive with or slightly higher than SAD+DP.

  • This paper describes a new phase-difference detection method and the associate process algorithm for calculating the mean value of phase difference detected and OVCXO control value and for monitoring and controlling the DP-PLL operation status to be used in the design of a high-frequency DP-PLL. Through the experiments of DP-PLL implemented with 16-bit processor, memories, pheriperals and OVCXO to eraluate the suggested method and algorithm, it is shown that a remarkable improvement in PLL function such as phase detection, and reference clock tracing capability, jitter absorbability and frequency stability compared with other existing DP-PLL synchronization device is achieved.

  • In this study, a sliding mode (SM) controller for dynamic positioning (DP) was specifically designed for a turret connection operation of a ship or an offshore structure in which an arbitrary point on the structure could be controlled as the motion center instead of the center of mass. The SM controller allows control of the arbitrary point and provides capability to manage uncertainties in the dynamics of ships and offshore structures, external forces caused by unknown changing marine environments, and transient performance of DP systems. The Jacobian matrix included in kinematic equations of the controlled object was modified to design the SM controller to control based on an arbitrary point of ships or offshore structures. To ensure robustness of the controller, the Lyapunov stability theory was applied in the design of the SM controller. In general, for robustness in DP control, gain scheduling based on a proportional-derivative (PD) control algorithm is employed. However, finding appropriate gains for gain scheduling complicates the application of DP systems. Therefore, in this study, the SM control algorithm was considered to mitigate the complexity of the DP controller for ships and offshore structures. To validate the proposed SM control algorithm, time-domain simulations were conducted and utilized to evaluate the performance of the control algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed SM controller was assessed by comparing simulation results with results of a conventional PD control algorithm applied in DP control.

A Frequency Model of OCXO for Holdover Mode of DP-PLL (DP-PLL의 Holdover 모드에 대한 OCXO의 주파수 모델)

  • A frequency model of an OCXO (Oven Controlled X-tal Oscillator) is suggested to implement a holdover algorithm in a DP-PLL (Digital Processing-Phase Locked Loop) system. This model is presented simply with second order polynomials with respect to temperature and aging of the OCXO. The model parameters are obtained from experimental data by applying the LSM (Least Squared Method). A holdover algorithm is also suggest using the frequency model. The obtained model is verified to simulate the holdover algorithm with experimental phase data due to variation of temperature.

Dynamic Programming-based Stereo Matching Using Image Segmentation (영상 분할을 이용한 다이내믹 프로그래밍 기반의 스테레오 정합)

  • In this paper, we present a dynamic programming(DP)-based stereo matching method using image segmentation algorithm. DP has been a classical and popular optimization method for various computer vision problems including stereo matching. However, the performance of conventional DP has not been satisfactory when it is applied to the stereo matching since the vertical correlation between scanned lines has not been properly considered. In the proposed algorithm, accurate edge information is first obtained from segmented image information then we considers the discontinuity of disparity and occlusions region based on the obtained edge information. The experimental results applied to the Middlebury stereo images demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has better performances in stereo matching than the previous DP based algorithms.

  • This paper presents the target object search algorithm under dynamic programming (DP) in the Tree-type maze. We organized an experimental environment with the concatenation Y-shape diverged way, small mobile robot, and a target object. By the principle of optimality, the backbone of DP, an agent recognizes that a given whole problem can be solved if the values of the best solution of certain ancillary problem can be determined according to the principle of optimality. In experiment, we used two different control algorithms: a left-handed method and DP. Finally we verified the efficiency of DP in the practical application using a real robot.

  • As many sensors and actuators are used in many automated system, various industrial networks are adopted for digital control system. In order to take advantages of the networking, however, the network implementation should be carefully designed to satisfy real-time requirements considering network delays. This paper presents the implementation scheme of a networked control system via Profibus-DP network. More specifically, the effect of the network delay on the control performance was evaluated on a Profibus-DP testbed, and a GA based PID tuning algorithm is proposed to demonstrate the fesibility of the networked control system.

Novel Partitioning Algorithm for a Gaussian Inverse Wishart PHD Filter for Extended Target Tracking

  • Use of the Gaussian inverse Wishart PHD (GIW-PHD) filter has demonstrated promise as an approach to track an unknown number of extended targets. However, the partitioning approaches used in the GIW-PHD filter, such as distance partition with sub-partition (DP-SP), prediction partition (PP) and expectation maximization partition (EMP), fails to provided accurate partition results when targets are spaced closely together and performing maneuvers. In order to improve the performance of a GIW-PHD filter, this paper presents a cooperation partitioning (CP) algorithm to solve the partitioning issue when targets are spaced closely together. In the GIW-PHD filter, the DP-SP is insensitive to target maneuvers but sensitive to the differences in target sizes, while EMP is the opposite. The proposed CP algorithm is a fusion approach of DP-SP and EMP, which employs EMP as a sub-partition approach after DP. Therefore, the CP algorithm will be sensitive to neither target maneuvers nor differences in target sizes. The simulation results show that the use of the proposed CP algorithm will improve the performance of the GIW-PHD filter when targets are spaced closely together.

Dynamic Slot Allocation Algorithm for Efficient Transmission of VBR Services in Wireless ATM Networks (무선 ATM 망에서 VBR 서비스의 효율적인 전송을 위한 동적 슬롯 할당 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic slot allocation algorithm for efficient transmission of VBR services in wireless ATM networks. The proposed algorithm is based on a hybrid dynamic parameter(DP) control which combines the strength of in-band control and out-of-band control by considering the variation characteristics of buffer length in distributed mobile terminals. This algorithm consists of four sub-algorithms: dynamic parameter determination algorithm, dynamic parameter transmission algorithm, estimation algorithm of the number of request slots, and prorated-allocation algorithm. As the proposed allocation algorithm based on the hybrid DP control scheme can offer nearly precise MAC level estimations of the requirements for each VBR, the algorithm makes it possible to obtain ideal allocation efficiency. The allocation efficiency of the algorithm is shown by numerical analysis. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than conventional schemes in terms of allocation efficiency, delay and cell loss ratio under VBR traffic.
