Development of Instructional Design Model for Smart Education (스마트교육 수업 설계 모형 개발)

  • The smart education recognized new educational paradigm is going to be introduced in earnest in the field from 2015. We develop the instructional design model for smart education to be able to provide a guide to design the instruction which has a speciality compared to current instruction. Furthermore, we did an expert assessment to recognize the validation and applicability of developed instructional design model and then apply this model to the field. As a result, we drew a positive conclusion for this instructional design model, which provides a base of systemic instructional design in smart education environment and focuses on expanding the ability of students living on 21st century. We expect that this study will be useful for teachers in the field who perform the smart education.

Estimating China Long-run Energy Demand Functions with Cointegration Approaches (중국의 중장기 에너지 수요함수 추정 및 비교분석)

  • This paper uses Dynamic OLS(DOLS) approach to estimate the long-run energy demand functions. The results are compared with those of standard cointegration approach. Cointegration tests verify that there is a cointegration among energy consumption, real GDP, and energy price in China. Johansen approach and DOLS approach are more appropriate to estimate for the long-run energy demand function than Engle-Granger Cointegration approach. DOLS provided significant negative sign of price while Engle-Granger did not. Based on the DOLS results, the elasticities of real GDP and energy price on energy consumption are 0.83 and -0.45 respectively, and their statistical significances are high.

Design and Effect of Development-Oriented Model for Developing Computing Thinking in SW Education (SW 교육에서의 컴퓨팅 사고력 신장을 위한 개발 중심 모형의 설계 및 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effectiveness of the Development-oriented model (Discovery-Design-Development: DDD) for developing students' Computational Thinking skills in software education. DDD is a class model that learns the process of developing SW to solve real-life problems through three stages of Discovery, Design, and Development. In order to verify the effectiveness of the DDD, first grade students at G university who did not have SW education class were tested. As a result, the students who experienced SW development through DDD maintained the learning motivation of SW education before and after, especially the confidence area increased significantly. In addition, students also noted that the Design phase was particularly helpful in improving CT abilities and the DDD was a significant help in understanding of decomposition and algorithms.

Long-term runoff characteristics on HRU variations of PRMS (PRMS의 HRU크기에 따른 장기유출특성)

  • In this study, the PRMS(Precipitation and Runoff Modeling System), developed by USGS(United States Geological Survey), was applied to the Yongdam dam watershed in the Geum River basin. The efficiency for runoff simulation and spatial characteristics of PRMS were evaluated. The runoff changes with the changes of subcatchments and HRUs were estimated. As results, the size of the subcatchment and HRV did not significantly affect the runoff at the exit of watershed. Consequently, the spatial characteristic of PRMS was shown as lumped type rather than semi-distributed. The geographical input data for Yongdam dam watershed were converted to the USGS Input type, and the parameters were calibrated using Rosenbrock optimization method, validated with the observed runoff data. The PRMS showed resonable agreements in the long-term continuous runoff simulation, if the accuracy of observed data is ensured.

A Structural Equation Model on Sexual Function in Women with Gynecologic Cancer (부인암 여성의 성기능 구조모형)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to construct and test a structural equation model on sexual function in women with gynecologic cancer. Methods: The model was constructed and tested under the hypotheses that women's physical changes in sexual function after gynecologic cancer treatment did not automatically lead to sexual dysfunctions. Women's psychosocial factors were considered to be mediating variables. Two hundred twelve women with cervical, ovarian, and endometrial cancer were recruited and asked to complete a survey on their physical factors, psychosocial factors and sexual function. Data was analyzed using SPSS WIN 12.0 and Amos WIN 5.0. Results: Predictors of sexual function in the final model were sexual attitude affected by physical distress and couple's age, sexual information affected by physical distress and couple's age, depression affected by physical distress, and marital intimacy affected by physical distress. Tumor stage and time since last treatment directly affected women's sexual function without any mediating psychosocial variables. However, body image did not affect women's sexual function. Conclusion: Nursing professionals should develop a tailored educational program integrating both physical and psychosocial aspects, and apply it to women and their spouses in order to promote sexual function in women with gynecologic cancer.

Measurements of absorption coefficients of open-type ceilings using 1:25 scale model reverberation chamber (축척모형을 활용한 개방형 천장의 흡음률 측정)

  • This paper investigates acoustical characteristics of open-type ceilings using 1:25 scale model. The field survey in the existing 15 halls was carried out to figure out the ceiling structure. The components of the open-type ceiling were mainly steel truss structures, duct, catwalk and finishing surfaces. In order to investigate the absorption characteristics of the equipped ceiling, the absorption coefficient measurements were made using 1:25 reverberation chamber based on ISO 354. Results showed that the absorption coefficient of the empty ceiling structure (6m-height) with 50%-perforated covering plate was 0.2-0.3 at above 500 Hz. When steel structure was added inside the empty ceiling, absorption coefficient increased by 0.16 at 250-1kHz. Adding catwalk did not increase the absorption, but adding duct increased the absorption at 1-2kHz. NRC of the equipped ceiling was 0.39, and the absorption characteristics were mainly found at high frequencies. In addition, the opening size of the covering plate did not change the absorption coefficient of the equipped ceiling meaningfully.

A meta analysis for anti-hyperlipidemia effect of soybeans (메타분석을 이용한 대두의 항-고지혈 효과)

  • In this paper, using a meta analysis of anti-hyperlipidemia effect of soybeans were studied. Studied the effects of soybeans using Hedges' standardized mean difference looked at the effect. Applying the fixed-effects model analysis of fecal cholesterol and total cholesterol and triglycerides showed a statistically significant reduction in HDL cholesterol increase was statistically significant at. In addition, the homogeneity of all variables by running the test did not meet the homogeneity of the kidney weight, between weight, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, and triglycerides in the random effects model against the results of the analysis conducted by a statistically significant variable that did not.

A Traffic Assignment With Intersection Delay for Large Scale Urban Network (대규모 도시부 교통망에서의 이동류별 회전 지체를 고려한 통행배정연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a traffic assignment model where the variable of signal intersection delay is taken into account in assigning traffic in large-scale network settings. Indeed, despite the fact that the majority of the increase in travel time or cost involving congested urban network or interrupted flow are accounted for by stop delays or congested delays at signal intersections, the existing traffic assignment models did not reflect this. The traffic assignment model considering intersection delays presented in this study was built based on the existing traffic assignment models, which were added to by the analysis technique for the computation of intersection delay provided in Korea Highway Capacity Manual. We can conclude that a multiple variety of simulation tests prove that this model can be applied to real network settings. Accordingly, this model shows the possibility of utilizing a model considering intersection delay for traffic policy decisions through analysis of effects of changes in traffic facilities on large urban areas.

A Comparison Study for Mortality Forecasting Models by Average Life Expectancy (평균수명을 이용한 사망률 예측모형 비교연구)

  • By use of a mortality forecasting model and a life table, forecasting the average life expectancy is an effective way to evaluate the future mortality level. There are differences between the actual values of average life expectancy at present and the forecasted values of average life expectancy in population projection 2006 from Statistics Korea. The reason is that the average life expectancy forecasts did not reflect the increasing speed of the actual ones. The main causes of the problem may be errors from judgment for projection, from choice, or use of a mortality forecasting model. In this paper, we focus on the choice of the mortality forecasting model to inspect this problem. Statistics Korea should take a mortality forecasting model with considerable investigation to proceed population projection 2011 without the errors observed in population projection 2006. We compare the five mortality forecasting models that are the LC(Lee and Carter) model used widely and its variants, and the HP8(Heligman and Pollard 8 parameter) model for handling death probability. We make average life expectancy forecasts by sex using modeling results from 2010 to 2030 and compare with that of the population projection 2006 during the same period. The average life expectancy from all five models are forecasted higher than that of the population projection 2006. Therefore, we show that the new average life expectancy forecasts are relatively suitable to the future mortality level.

Analysis of Middle School Student's Characteristics of Each Educational Achievement Level in the National Assessment of Educational Achievement: Focused on Chemistry (국가수준 학업성취도 평가에서 중학생의 성취수준별 특징 분석: 화학 영역을 중심으로)

  • We investigated student's characteristics in each educational achievement level using the results of the NAEA (National Assessment of Educational Achievement) in 2009 and 2010 for Grade 9 students. The analysis of representative items of each educational achievement level revealed that (a) advanced level students could explain the change in phenomena with both the characteristics of matter and the model, (b) proficient level students could explain only simple phenomena with the model, and (c) basic level students did not understand the model and were therefore unable to use it to explain phenomena.
