거리계전 알고리즘별 특성 비교 (Comparison of the characteristics of Distance Relaying Algorithms)

  • This paper presents some results after comparing the characteristics of 3 algorithms, which are discrete Fourier transform based algorithm, least square method, and modified differential approximation algorithm, used at most distance relays all over the world. In case of the DFT based distance relaying algorithm, the length of the algorithm data window and the cut-off frequency of an anti-aliasing low-pass filter adopted are fixed. On the other hand, the data window lengths are changed according to the corresponding low-pass filters in the rest two algorithms. In series of tests, the apparent impedance estimated by the modified differential approximation algorithm shows faster and more stable characteristics of convergence than the two others.

HF통신 시스템을 위한 ALE 신호의 동기 (Synchronization of ALE signal for HF communication systems)

  • Recently, by emerging of the ALE techniques that make it possible to providereliable communications link automatically, high frequency communiation is newly used as emergency communication and back-up for satellite communications. ALE signal is transmitted in burst, and the received signal is subject to distortions by detrimental multipath fading channels. In the case of that channel, the performance of ALE system is highly dependent upon that of synchronization techniques. In this paper, M-ary FSK signals are detected by a bank of bandpass filter, which is implemented using recusive DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform). Also an acquisition and trancking algorithm are designed uisng parallel structure and early-late-gate methods respectively. Finally, we verify the performance ofthe proposed synchronization algorithm by the computer simulation.

  • Despite many advantages, d-q theory was available only for three phase system. But recently, some papers proposed the application methods of d-a theory or similar theories for single phase systems. This paper presents the control method of the utility-connected single-phase inverter using d-q theory. The suggested method gives single-phase system instantaneous controllability and also makes the realization of APF(Active Power Filter) without DFT operation and PFC(Power Factor Controller) possible. This paper deals with utility-connected single phase inverter with PFC function. The controller was verified by simulation tool.

  • PURPOSES : This study is to predict the Sound Pressure Level(SPL) obtained from the Noble Close ProXimity(NCPX) method by using the Extended Kalman Filter Algorithm employing the taylor series and Linear Regression Analysis based on the least square method. The objective of utilizing EKF Algorithm is to consider stochastically the effect of error because the Regression analysis is not the method for the statical approach. METHODS : For measuring the friction noise between the surface and vehicle's tire, NCPX method was used. With NCPX method, SPL can be obtained using the frequency analysis such as Discrete Fourier Transform(DFT), Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) and Constant Percentage Bandwidth(CPB) Analysis. In this research, CPB analysis was only conducted for deriving A-weighted SPL from the sound power level in terms of frequencies. EKF Algorithm and Regression analysis were performed for estimating the SPL regarding the vehicle velocities. RESULTS : The study has shown that the results related to the coefficient of determination and RMSE from EKF Algorithm have been improved by comparing to Regression analysis. CONCLUSIONS : The more the vehicle is fast, the more the SPL must be high. But in the results of EKF Algorithm, SPLs are irregular. The reason of that is the EKF algorithm can be reflected by the error covariance from the measurements.

A Buck-Boost Type Charger with a Switched Capacitor Circuit

  • In this paper, a buck-boost type battery charger is developed for charging battery set with a lower voltage. This battery charger is configured by a rectifier circuit, an integrated boost/buck power converter and a switched capacitors circuit. A boost power converter and a buck power converter sharing a common power electronic switch are integrated to form the integrated boost/buck power converter. By controlling the common power electronic switch, the battery charger performs a hybrid constant-current/constant-voltage charging method and gets a high input power factor. Accordingly, both the power circuit and the control circuit of the developed battery charger are simplified. The switched capacitors circuit is applied to be the output of the boost converter and the input of the buck converter. The switched capacitors circuit can change its voltage according to the utility voltage so as to reduce the step-up voltage gain of the boost converter when the utility voltage is small. Hence, the power efficiency of a buck-boost type battery charger can be improved. Moreover, the step-down voltage gain of the buck power converter is reduced to increase the controllable range of the duty ratio for the common power electronic switch. A prototype is developed and tested to verify the performance of the proposed battery charger.

Error Feedback을 이용한 blind 알고리즘의 고속 DFE Equalizer의 설계 (Design of a high-speed DFE Equaliser of blind algorithm using Error Feedback)

  • 본 논문에서는 Blind 채널 등화를 위한 error feedback 필터를 갖는 Decision Feedback Equalizer(DFE) 구조의 등화기를 설계하였다. 제안하는 등화기는 Least Mean Square(LMS) 알고리즘과 Multi-Modulus Agorithm(MMA)을 이용하였으며 64/256 QAM을 위해 설계되었다. 기존의 MMA 등화기는 두개의 transversal 필터를 이용하거나 feedforward와 feedback 필터를 이용하는 반면에 제안하는 등화기는 feedforward와 feedback 그리고 error feedback 필터를 사용하여 채널 적응 성능을 향상시켰으며 탭 수를 감소시켰다. 제안하는 구조는 $SPW^{TM}$ 툴을 이용 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 성능을 개선시킬 수 있었다. 그리고 VHDL을 이용해 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며 논리 합성은 0.25um 셀 라이브러리를 이용하였다. 설계한 등화기는 약 19만 게이트 수와 15MHz의 동작속도를 보였다 또한 FPGA 칩을 내장한 이뮬레이션 보드를 사용하여 성능 검증을 수행하였다.

고속 컨벌루션을 위한 새로운 중첩보류기법 (A New Overlap Save Algorithm for Fast Convolution)

  • 가장 많이 사용되는 변환영역 컨벌루션 알고리즘인 중칩보류기법의 경우 데이터를 M개 단위로 처리하고자 할 때 현재 M개의 데이터를 앞의 M개의 데이터와 연결시킨 2M개의 데이터에 대하여 길이 2M FFT와 주파수 영역 곱셈을 수행하고 뒤의 M개의 데이터를 취함으로써 선형 컨벌루션 결과를 얻는다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 변환을 제시하고 이를 이용하여 M개의 데이터에 대하여 길이 M의 변환을 수행하면 되는 새로운 컨벌루션 알고리즘을 소개한다. 새로 제안된 변환은 M개의 곱셈과 고속 푸리에 변환의 계산으로 이루어지므로 기존의 FFT 라이브러리 또는 하드웨어를 그대로 사용할 수 있다. 또한 기존의 중첩보류기법에 비하여 약간의 계산량 감소가 있고 다루어야 하는 데이터의 길이가 반이므로 데이터 이동 및 기타 처리에서도 이득이 있어서 전체적인 CPU 시간이 줄어든다.
