  • High-frequency is sound produced in non-audible area, which couldn't be heard in daily life. The frequency range above 22Khz is called 'high-frequency' and its components are called 'HFC(High-Frequency Components)'. It is known that ocean wave sound is rich in HFC, because it brings serenity and causes ${\alpha}$-waves in human mind. When this natural sound is combined with high-frequency, it seems to give a pleasurable feeling, indicated by an ${\alpha}$-wave increase and a ${\beta}$-wave decrease. We call this phenomena "the hypersonic effects". In this experiment, subjects listened to the ocean wave sound simultaneously with corresponding frequencies similar to ocean wave frequency components created artificially in a electric circuit. Brain waves were measured by an EEG system with 8 channels using 8 electrodes on Fp1, Fp2, F3, F4, T3, T4, O1, and O2. The results showed that ${\alpha}$-wave increase and ${\beta}$-wave decrease were statistically significant while subjects were listening to the ocean wave sound along with the high frequency components, reflecting the hypersonic effect.

  • Now in order to overcome the weakest points of the rural areas of the city of Kimje and, transform them into rural cultural villages which have local governing systems suitable to new localization age and activate this plan, we selected Daesan Village as a model village which had shown a lot of potentials in the basic research and studied it dividing it into the former part and the latter part. We studied Daesan village in the former part focusing on state analysis and basic ideas and in the latter part focusing on master plan and detail planning. We can summarize the conclusion like the followings. 1. Daesan Village located 8 kilometer away from the downtown Kimje and the city of Iksan respectably has comparatively good environment of good sunny place as an open field whose surrounding configuration of the ground consists of farming lands and low hills in front and rear. It has 38 farming households in all. 2. Human environment(인문환경); the village road whose width is about 4 meters is forming a flow system forking off into three. There is a route bus which operates three times a day even into the inside of the village. The main sources of revenue are vegetables in facilities, fruits and floriculture. Their average revenue is about 10.5 million won. 3. Here in DaeSan Village a legend dealing with Teasan literally meaning a big mountain consist of th village's tradition and you can see the tombs of a very faithful son and Anwi an army general in the age of the Japanese Invasion of Korea of 1592 to 1598 inside the village. 4. 85 out of the eitire population 141 whose age are over 20 showed very positive attitudes in a questionnaire about, making the village a cultural one and its development. 5. The basic of planned ideas is to increase the revenue of the farming household by making the village a professional farming one which has a state-of the-art production facility and agricultural technique. It is to make the village the one where people can enjoy the sense of the rural life and the farmer can enjoy their lives through consumptive and consistant leisure and resting activities. 6. We are planning to make entrance space, life space, rest and sport space, and cultural space considering the characteristics of the village and the demand of the resident. We are also planning to make tile entire city of Kimje an information transmitting base in short and long term perspectives. 7. DaeSan Village was planned as a place where tradition and the future exist together. On the basis of this concept we planned future programs for Daesan Village and in the latter part of the study master plans and detail plans will be continued.the regional agricultural condition. The development permissions were only during the period of restricted to use ($1979.12{\sim}1993.11$). We propose that the authority of development permission should be given to the local autonomy government, because the local government has the knowledge of its individual agricultural conditions.

  • Tissue distribution of RHDV in rabbits were examined by immunofluorescence and ABC methods. Tissues including liver, spleen, kidneys, lungs and brain were frozen, cut in a crycut, and fixed in 10% buffered formalin, embedded in paraplast, and cut $5{\sim}7{\mu}m$ thickness. Sections were immunostained Tissue distribution of RHDV in rabbits were examined by immunofluorescence and ABC methods. Tissues including liver, spleen, kidneys, lungs and brain were frozen, cut in a crycut, and fixed in 10% buffered formalin, embedded in paraplast, and cut $5{\sim}7{\mu}m$ thickness. Sections were immunostained with primary antiserum and conjugated second antibodies as recommended by manufacturer. None of the cultures tested showed virus-induced phenomena. Immunoreactive products were commonly found in the liver, in some cases there were also positive staining in the spleen and kidneys. Other organs showed weak or insignificant immunoreactions. By ABC method on the formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded liver tissues, strong immunoreactivity was found in the periportal triad lesions and peripheral lesions of the hepatic lobules. Immunoreactive products showed diffuse fine granular in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes and sinusoidal cells. In some cells, immunoproducts marginate at the periphery of the cells. The intensive staining of the cytoplasm of infected cells allowed their exact differentiation from surrounding uninfected cells. The positive area involved coincided with histopathological lesion on serial liver sections. In conclusion, liver was proved to be a consistent target organ in RHD, and the immunoperoxidase method in the section of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded hepatic tissue could be broadly used for the routine diagnosis of the disease.

  • Organizational factors and personal traits are two elements of widely acknowledged relevance in employees' organizational outcomes in hotel industry. Personal traits especially need to be further examined as a consideration for employment. As one of the personal traits that provide capability to manage emotions, emotional intelligence is selected. The empirical objective of this study is to investigate the effects of emotional intelligence on job satisfaction and organizational commitment in a structural model. To conduct research questions, five star deluxe hotel employees in Korea are targeted to be surveyed. Descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance, and structural equation modeling(SEM) are utilized employing SPSS and AMOS 4.0 to analyze the survey results. It was found that the components of perceiving emotions and understanding emotions predicted job satisfaction. Relatively perceiving emotions presented a higher impact on each dimension of job satisfaction. Satisfaction with co-workers and communication can also explain the level of hotel employees' organizational commitment. Broadly speaking, the results suggest that effective psychotherapeutic or reciprocative programs should be integrated into hotel training contents for emotional intelligence development.

  • The aim of this study is to examine the Korean journalists in Busan during the Japanese colonial period. For this purpose this study analyze the managers of Busan branch of the Dong-A Daily News and Chosun Daily News. The personal history and ideological background of them show that the majority have the career of socialist or nationalist movement. In case of the Dong-A Daily News, at least five managers out of nine came from socialist movement. An Heeje and Kim Jongbeom of the Dong-A Daily News were a nationwide figure in nationalist and socialist movement. The ideological background of the managers of the Dong-A Daily News were more progressive than those of the Chosun Daily News. This difference of two newspapers seem to be resulted from the characteristic and social reputation of them. The activists of that time viewed the newspapers as the most effective instrument to approach to mass. And the executives of two newspaper companies also viewed these activists have advantages to the sales promotion of the newspapers.

  • Bathymetry, side scan sonar, and magnetic survey data for the summit area of Dokdo obtained by Korea Ocean Research & Development Institute in 1999, 2004, and 2007 were analyzed to investigate the geophysical characteristics of the summit. Bathymetry and topographic data for the summit of Dokdo show uneven seabed and irregular undulations from costal line to -90 m in water depth, indicating the effects of partial erosions and taluses. The stepped slope in the bathymetry is supposed to be a coastal terrace suggesting repetition of transgressions and regressions in the Quaternary. The bathymetry and the side scan sonar data show a small crater, assumed to be formed by post volcanisms, at depth of $-100\;{\sim}\;-120\;m$ in the northeastern and the northwestern parts of the survey area. Except some areas with shallow sand sedimentary deposits, there are rocky seafloor and lack of sediments in the side scan sonar images of the survey area, dominantly. The analytic signal of the magnetic anomaly coincides with other geophysical results regarding to the location of the residual crater. The geophysical constraints of the summit of Dokdo propose that the islets and the rocky seabed elongated northeastward and northwestward from the islets might be the southern crater of the Dokdo volcano.

  • Electro-electrodialysis of hydriodic acid with HI molality of ca. 9.5 $mol/kg-H_2O$ was examined in the presence of iodine using a commercial cation exchange membrane, CMB, as a separator. For the increase of the selectivity of proton permeation, the membrane was radiation-treated by accelerated electron radiation. The membrane properties (area resistance, ion exchange capacity, water content) of the radiation-treated membranes were measured. The area resistance in 2 $mol/dm^3$ KCl solution, ion exchange capacity and water content of the radiation-treated membranes at each dose rate dad almost the same value as that of the non-treated membrane (original of CMB membrane). Electro-electrodialysis of hydriodic acid with HI molality of ca. 9.5 $mol/kg-H_2O$ was examined at $75^{\circ}C$ with 9.6 $A/dm^2$. The radiation-treated cation exchange membrane by accelerated electron radiation had higher selectivity of the proton permeation by cross-linking structure of polymer than that of the non-treated membrane.
