AHP와 DEA 결합모델을 이용한 상장 건설기업의 효율성 분석 (Efficiency Analysis of Construction Firms Using a Combined AHP and DEA Model)

  • 최근 건설경기의 난국 속에서 많은 건설기업들이 경영상의 어려움에 처해 있다. 본 연구에서는 코스피 코스닥 상장 건설기업들을 대상으로 AHP와 DEA 결합 모델을 이용하여 기업의 경영 효율성 분석을 실시한다. DEA 모형에 쓰이는 투입 및 산출 요소의 결정은 AHP 모형의 중요도 분석을 통하여 결정함으로써 기존의 방법보다 결과의 신뢰도를 제고하기 위해 노력하였으며, 실험 결과로 나온 비효율적 그룹에 대해서는 효율적 그룹으로의 이동을 위한 벤치마킹 대상과 개선율을 제공한다. 또한 연구의 결과로 나온 기업별 효율성지수와 주가간의 상관관계를 분석한다. 본 논문에서는 2009년 말 코스피 상장 건설기업 36곳과 코스닥에 상장된 건설기업 21곳인 총57개 기업을 대상으로 기업의 효율성을 평가하였는데, 분석결과 CCR 효율성이 1인 기업은 11개 기업, BCC 효율성이 1인 기업은 14개 기업, 규모의 효율성이 1인 기업은 11개 기업 이었으며 각각의 효율적 그룹으로 분류된 기업과 주가와의 상관관계에서는 CCR모형에서만 0.7로 강한 양의 상관관계를 나타냈다.

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 컨테이너 전용 터미널(부산항 8개 터미널, 광양항 6개 터미널)을 대상으로 DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) 모형을 통해 효율성을 분석하였다. 일정 시점을 대상으로 한 분석이 아니라, 1998년$\sim$2005년 동안의 효율성 분석을 실시하였으며, 이를 통해 각 터미널의 효율성 변화를 살펴보았다. 본 논문의 분석 결과는 우리나라 터미널의 상대적인 효율성 값을 제시해 줄 뿐만 아니라 신규 터미널 생성, 운영사의 변화, 터미널의 통합 운영 등에 따른 터미널 생산성의 변화 등을 제시하여 줌으로써 터미널 운영사의 향후 운영전략에 시사점을 제공하고 있다.

이질적 목적을 지닌 R&D 사업들을 위한 달성지수 기반의 상대적 평가기법 (Attainment Index-based Relative Evaluation Method for R&D Programs with Heterogeneous Objectives)

  • National R&D programs play an important role in the development of a country in this age of the knowledge economy. Since many numbers of R&D programs compete for limited resources such as national R&D budget, the R&D program evaluation problem is a challenging decision-making problem faced by decision makers that deal with R&D management. In this sense, DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) has been regarded as one of the most widely accepted methods to measure the relative efficiency of productivity of R&D programs. DEA is a methodology to measure and to evaluate the relative efficiency of a homogeneous set of decision-making units(DMUs) in a process which uses multiple inputs to produce multiple outputs. However, the sample of the R&D programs could consist of two or more naturally occurring subsets, thus exhibiting clear signs of heterogeneity such as different objectives. In such situations, the fairness of DEA is limited, for the nature of the relative efficiency of a DMU is likely to be influenced by its membership in a particular subset of the sample. In this study, we propose a methodology AI-DEA(attainment index DEA) allowing for reflecting decision maker's subjective judgement on difference among different subsets of R&D programs which have heterogeneous objectives. This methodology combines AHP and Delphi in order to decide the attainmnet index of each DMU for each outputs, and apply them to DEA model. We illustrate the proposed approach with a pilot evaluation of 13 programs involving 6 different subsets of Korean National R&D programs and compares the results of the original DEA model and AI-DEA model.

  • This article is to analyze the service efficiency of public sector using Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA). We tried to measure the public service quality and overall satisfaction by using several DEA models, degree of combination and top2box which is a little bit different methodology from traditional ones. We used CCR, Super-efficiency and Slack based measure(SBM) model in DEA to measure public service efficiency of the 16 public institutions(7 City Halls and 9 Provincial offices). Since the traditional method based on the measurement model(CCR, BCC) has the fundamental problems without taking account of the existence of slacks inputs and outputs in several efficient units, we suggest to measure the exact amount of efficiency and inefficiency of the public sector and rank analysis many efficient units exactly through the slacks-based measure model(SBM)

DEA-마코위츠 결합 모형을 이용한 건설업종 투자 전략 (An Investment Strategy for Construction Companies using DEA-Markowitz's Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 KOSPI와 KOSDAQ에 상장된 건설 기업을 대상으로 효율적인 포트폴리오를 구성방안을 제시한다. 이를 위해 한국거래소(KRX)에서 구분하는 건설 업종을 DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) 기법을 이용하여 기업효율성 분석을 실시하고 효율성이 우수한 기업들을 대상으로 마코위츠 모형을 통해 포트폴리오를 구성한다. 본 연구에서 제안한 포트폴리오 구성 방안의 성능 실험을 위해 KOSPI와 KOSDAQ에 상장된 53개의 기업의 주식을 대상으로 5년 (2007~2011) 동안 매해 포트폴리오를 구성하였고 각각의 포트폴리오 수익률을 경영 효율성을 고려하지 않고 구성한 포트폴리오 및 벤치마크 수익률과 비교 분석을 통해 그 우수성을 입증하였다.

유입량의 변동성을 고려한 Fuzzy DEA 기반의 댐 군 연계운영 가중치 대안 평가 (An Evaluation of Multi-Reservoir Operation Weighting Coefficients Using Fuzzy DEA taking into account Inflow Variability)

  • The multi-reservoir operation problem for efficient utilization of water resources involves conflicting objectives, and the problem can be solved by varying weight coefficient on objective functions. Accordingly, decision makers need to choose appropriate weight coefficients balancing the trade-offs among multiple objectives. Although the appropriateness of the weight coefficients may depend on the total amount of water inflow, reservoir operating policy may not be changed to a certain degree for different hydrological conditions on inflow. Therefore, we propose to use fuzzy Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to rank the weight coefficients in consideration of the inflow variation. In this approach, we generate a set of Paretooptimal solutions by applying different weight coefficients on Coordinated Multi-reservoir Operating Model. Then, we rank the Pareto-optimal solutions or the corresponding weight coefficients by using Fuzzy DEA model. With the proposed approach, we can suggest the best weight coefficients that can produce the appropriate Pareto-optimal solution considering the uncertainty of inflow, whereas the general DEA model cannot pinpoint the best weight coefficients.

DEA를 이용한 보건의료기술 R&D 사업의 효율성 분석과 전략적 포트폴리오 모형 : 중개연구를 중심으로 (Efficiency Analysis and Strategic Portfolio Model of National Health Technology R&D Program Using DEA : Focused on Translational Research)

  • This paper measures and compares the efficiency of national health technology R&D programs focused on translational research program increasing importance using data envelopment analysis (DEA). Three input variables and three output variables are selected for DEA. Inputs are funds, researchers, and project period and outputs are SCI (E) papers, applied and granted patents, and impact factor. This study uses a three-stage approach. In the first stage, output-based DEA model is applied to evaluate the efficiency of decision making unit (DMU). In the second stage, based on efficiency scores of target diseases high-efficiency group and low-efficiency group are classified. And then strategic portfolio matrix of translational research program is composed of four dimensions combining research types. Mann-Whitney U test is then run to compare average efficiency scores among four groups. In the final stage, Tobit regression model is used to estimate factors likely to influence the efficiency. The results are expected to provide policy implications for effectively establishing investment strategy and managing performance of R&D program.

  • It has been pointed out as a limitation that the rank of some efficient DMUs(decision making units) cannot be discriminated due to the relativity nature of efficiency measured by DEA(data envelopment analysis), comparing the production structure. Recently, to solve this problem, a DEA-SNA(social network analysis) model that combines SNA techniques with data envelopment analysis has been studied intensively. Several models have been proposed using techniques such as eigenvector centrality, pagerank centrality, and hypertext induced topic selection(HITS) algorithm, but DMUs that cannot be ranked still remain. Moreover, in the process of extracting latent information within the DMU group to build effective network, a problem that violates the basic assumptions of the DEA also arises. This study is meaningful in finding the cause of the limitations by comparing and analyzing the characteristics of the DEA-SNA model proposed so far, and based on this, suggesting the direction and possibility to develop more advanced model. Through the results of this study, it will be enable to further expand the field of research related to DEA.

DEA모형에 의한 지역수협의 경영평가 (Management Evaluation on the Regional Fisheries Cooperatives using Data Envelopment Analysis Model)

  • This study is designed to measure the relative efficiency of regional fishery cooperatives based on Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) methods. Selecting 40 regional fishery cooperatives in Busan as Decision Making Units (DMUs), the study uses their panel data from 2007 to 2008 to rank the relative efficiency of the DMUs. First, the efficiency score of the DMUs are calculated using CCR, SBM, and super-SMB model. Within the model, input variables are the number of employees and area of fishery cooperatives. Output variables are the amount of deposit money, loan and profit. Based on the efficiency scores calculated from super-SMB model, the efficiency ranking of the DMUs is determined. Second, the differences in average efficiency calculated from the three DEA models are tested using a pair-wise mean comparison test. The results based on the efficiency scores evaluated from super-SMB model show that seven out of the forty DMUs are efficient; among the efficient DMUs, the DMUs that can be benchmarked for inefficient DMUs through the frequency analysis of reference set being identified. Third, the differences in average efficiency of the three DEA models between 2007 and 2008 are tested using pair-wise mean comparison test and the study estimates the efficiency change of the DMUs between 2007 and 2008 using Malmquist productivity index(MPI). Finally, the paper suggests an improved composite DMU superior to the inefficient DMUs evaluated by Super-SBM model.

  • Data envelopment analysis (DEA) estimators have been widely used in productivity analysis. The asymptotic distribution of DEA estimator derived by Kneip et al. (2003) is too complicated and abstract for analysts to use in practice, though it should be appreciated in its own right. This paper provides another way to express the limit distribution of the DEA estimator in a tractable way.
