  • Selection of the appropriate parents to be used in artificial crosses is one of the main decisions faced by plant breeders that will facilitate the exploitation of maximum genetic variability and production of superior recombinant genotypes. Several techniques have been used in aiding the identification of genotypes with promising and desirable agronomical traits for hybridization. In this way, the objective of the present review is to gather available information for the selection of parents based on different breeding designs and analytical tools showing their similarities and highlighting the main advantages and disadvantages of their use.

  • Le propos de la presente consideration est de deceler Ie probleme du costume au niveau de probleme de l'art pur qui, comme dit Hegel, repond a un besoin primitif qui consiste a exterioriser et a concretiser les representations et les idees nees dans I'esprit humain. II va de soi que c'est une sorte de problemes appartenants a la theorie generale du costume. Mais il nous semble que chez nous on a neglige d'analyser les elements du costume sous l'angle de cette exteriorisation de l'idee esthetique que nous avons essay de souligner. Nous avons pris cette fois, pour un modele de ce sujet, les costumes sous Justinien (527-565) de l'Empire byzantin.

  • It goes to be serious with environmental pollution cause waste rubber. That is why there are lot of studies for efficient recycle. The purpose of this study is to improve the physical properties of EPDM powder by using De-link system. We changed on the size of waste rubber powder and De-link contents. we examined the physical, rheological, mechanical properties. And also examined cross-link state at various De-link. Also we carried out morphological studies after making the weather strip's feature by optical microscope.

  • Partition chromatography의 방법(方法)으로는 우선 cellulose powder colume을 시도해 보았으나 이는 얻어진 fraction의 용매제거의 난점(難點)이 있으므로 결국(結局) paper chromatography 방법(方法)만을 사용(使用)하였다. 연구결과(硏究結果)로는 우선 갈색색소의 fraction에 있어서 발효초기(醱酵初期)에 약간의 활성(活性)을 관찰(觀察)할수 있었으며 glycine이 함유된 fraction 에서는 발효초기에 벌써 상당한 활성을 보였으며 이는 또한 발효의 진행(進行)에 따라 점차 증가되었다. 그리고 N-glycoside의 fraction에서는 발효초기에 미약(微弱)한 활성(活性)을 관찰할 수 있었다. 그러나 paper chromatography의 방법(方法)은 본실험(本實驗)에 적합하지 않다고 생각되며 그 이유(理由)는 일회(一回)에 fractionation 할수있는 시료(試料)의 양(量)이 극(極)히 제한되어 있다는 점(點)과 또 fractionation 도중에 타물질(他物質)의 오염으로 인(因)해서 시료(試料)의 정확(正確)한 발효 활성(活性)을 측정(測定)할수 없다는 것이다.

Portable multi-channel analyzer for embedded gamma radiation in an ARM Cortex-M7 MCU

  • The use of digital systems in radiation science has been increased last years in the different knowledge areas, as a detectors, spectrometry, spectroscopy, simulation, etc. This manuscript presents the design and implementation of a low-cost, fully portable multi-channel analyzer for nuclear spectrometry (in situ). The development is based on a 32-bit microcontroller with ARM Cortex-M7, this design is able to digitize and analyze pulses from a radiation detector without the need to transform the input signal with some filter, obtains the maximum height of each of the digitized pulses, segmenting the information into channels to form a histogram and visualizing the LCD screen incorporated in the system. A continuous digitization methodology was used, which is in charge of the DMA and an ADC with a resolution of 12 bits at a speed of 3.6 MSPS. The system has a compact design and can open and save spectra in an SD memory built into the system. The MCA in MCU was tested with a NaI(Tl) Scintillation radiation detector, which allowed us to determine that the spectra obtained are similar compared to commercial MCA's. The results obtained show that the MCA in MCU is efficient for nuclear spectrometry, in addition to being very economical and low power consumption.

  • We study the structure of an arbitrary graded Lie triple system $\mathfrak{T}$ with restrictions neither on the dimension nor the base field. We show that $\mathfrak{T}$ is of the form $\mathfrak{T}=U+\sum_{j}I_j$ with U a linear subspace of the 1-homogeneous component $\mathfrak{T}_1$ and any $I_j$ a well described graded ideal of $\mathfrak{T}$, satisfying $[I_j,\mathfrak{T},I_k]=0$ if $j{\neq}k$. Under mild conditions, the simplicity of $\mathfrak{T}$ is characterized and it is shown that an arbitrary graded Lie triple system $\mathfrak{T}$ is the direct sum of the family of its minimal graded ideals, each one being a simple graded Lie triple system.

Total Arch Replacement with Stented Elephant Trunk in DeBakey Type I Acute Aortic Dissection

  • A 67-year-old female patient was treated with conventional total arch replacement and insertion of a stented elephant trunk (SET) graft into the descending thoracic aorta for acute DeBakey type I aortic dissection at one time. She had been treated with right coronary artery stent insertion for acute myocardial infarct 4 days earlier, and at that time, she was diagnosed with acute DeBakey type I aortic dissection from the ascending aorta to the suprarenal artery based on trans-esophageal echocardiography and aorta computed tomography. Through a median sternotomy, we inserted the SET graft through the opened aorta to the descending aorta. We also performed anastomosis between the proximal stented graft and the distal aortic arch, and then performed total arch replacement. For acute DeBakey type I aortic dissection, we report total arch replacement with insertion of a SET graft as a combination of conventional surgery and the interventional technique.

NuDE 2.0: A Formal Method-based Software Development, Verification and Safety Analysis Environment for Digital I&Cs in NPPs

  • NuDE 2.0 (Nuclear Development Environment 2.0) is a formal-method-based software development, verification and safety analysis environment for safety-critical digital I&Cs implemented with programmable logic controller (PLC) and field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It simultaneously develops PLC/FPGA software implementations from one requirement/design specification and also helps most of the development, verification, and safety analysis to be performed mechanically and in sequence. The NuDE 2.0 now consists of 25 CASE tools and also includes an in-depth solution for indirect commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software dedication of new FPGA-based digital I&Cs. We expect that the NuDE 2.0 will be widely used as a means of diversifying software design/implementation and model-based software development methodology.

  • This article presents a field evaluation of an IP-based architecture for heterogeneous environments that has been developed under the aegis of the Moby Dick project, covering UMTS-like (universal mobile telecommunications system) TD-CDMA (time division-code division multiple access) wireless access technology, wireless and wired LANs. The architecture treats all transmission capabilities as basic physical and data-link layers, and replaces all higher-level tasks by IP-based strategies. The Moby Dick architecture incorporates mobile IPv6, fast handovers, AAA-control (authentication, authorisation, accounting), charging and quality of service (QoS) in an integrated framework. The architecture further allows for optimised control on the radio link layer resources. It has been implemented and tested by expert users, and evaluated by real users on field trials with multiple services available.

  • In this work the Multi-Domain model of an electric vehicle is developed. The electric domain model consists on the traction drive and allows including faults associated with stator winding. The thermal model is based on a spatial discretization. It receives the power dissipated in the electric domain, it interacts with the environment and provides the temperature distribution in the induction motor. The mechanical model is a half vehicle model. Given that all models are obtained using the same approach (Bond Graph) their integration becomes straightforward. This complete model allows simulating the whole system dynamics and the analysis of electrical/mechanical/thermal interaction. First, experimental results are aimed to validate the proposed model. Then, simulation results illustrate the interaction between the different domains and highlight the capability of including faults.
