  • DC23, a triazolothione resorcinol analogue, is known to inhibit heat shock protein 90 and pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase which are up-regulated in cancer and diabetes, respectively. This study was performed to elucidate the metabolism of DC23 in human liver microsomes (HLMs). HLMs incubated with DC23 in the presence of uridine 5'-diphosphoglucuronic acid (UDPGA) and/or ${\beta}$-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) resulted in the formation of four metabolites, M1-M4. M1 was identified as DC23-N-Oxide, on the basis of LC-MS/MS analysis. DC23 was further metabolized to its glucuronide conjugates (M2, M3, and M4). In vitro metabolic stability studies conducted with DC23 in HLMs revealed significant glucuronide conjugation with a $t_{1/2}$ value of 1.3 min. The inhibitory potency of DC23 on five human cytochrome P450s was also investigated in HLMs. In these experiments, DC23 inhibited CYP2C9-mediated tolbutamide hydroxylase activity with an $IC_{50}$ value of $8.7{\mu}M$, which could have implications for drug interactions.

  • We have studied the breaking system that combines a resistive superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) and a DC circuit breaker for DC fault current. To verify the design of the 15 kV DC SFCL, which was driven from the previous work, a 500 V DC system was built and a scale-down SFCL were manufactured. The manufactured SFCL module was designed as a bifilar coil which is a structure that minimizes inductive reactance. The manufactured SFCL module has been experiment to verify characteristics of the current-limiting performance in the DC 500 V system. Also, the manufactured FCL module was combined with the DC circuit breaker to be experimented to analyze the breaking performance. As a result of the experiment, when SFCL was combined to the DC circuit breaker, the energy dissipation received by the DC circuit breaker was reduced by up to 84% compared to when the DC circuit breaker operates alone. We are preparing methods and experiments for the optimal method for much higher performance as a future work.

In this work a negative charge pump DC-DC converter(-5V), a positive charge pump DC-DC converter(15V), a switching Type Boost DC-DC converter(23V) and a buck DC-DC converter(3.3V). And a oscillator, a thermal shut down circuit, level shift circuits, a bandgap reference circuits are designed. This device has been designed in a 0.35[${\mu}m$] triple-well, double poly, double metal 30[V] CMOS process. The designed circuit is simulated and this one chip product could be applicable for flat panel displays.

  • The single phase buck-boost DC-AC inverter generates an alternating output voltage as the differential voltage of two DC-DC individual buck-boost converters. Two converters are driven with DC-biased and $180[^{\circ}]$ phase-shifted sinusoidal references. The peak value of the inverter alternating output voltage does not depend on the direct input voltage. In this paper, single phase buck-boost DC-AC inverter is designed and implemented on a prototype with digital controller using a microcontroller.

  • This study proposes a new voltage balancer with bidirectional DC-DC converter function. The proposed balancer can serve as a voltage balancer and a bidirectional DC-DC converter. Thus, the balancer can be applied to battery management systems or fast chargers in electric vehicles (EVs) charging stations while balancing bipolar DC bus voltages. The proposed system has unlimited voltage balancing range unlike the conventional voltage balancing control using a three-level DC-DC converter. A comparison of the voltage balancing range between the proposed and conventional scheme is explored to confirm this superiority. Simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • This paper presents an Neural Network(NN) controller for Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) of PV supplied DC motor. A variation of solar irradiation is most important factor in the MPPT of PV system. That is nonlinear, aperiodic and complicated. NN was widely used due to easily solving a complex math problem. Proposed photovoltaic system consists of NN, DC-DC converter, DC motor and load(cf, pump). NN algorithm apply to DC-DC converter through an Adaptive control of Neural Network, calculates Converter-Chopping ratio using an Adaptive control of NN. The results of an Adaptive control of NN compared with the results of Converter-Chopping ratio which are calculated mathematical modeling and evaluate the proposed algorithm. The experimental data show that an adequacy of the algorithm was established through the compared data.

  • Three-port dual-active bridge (DAB) converter in a DC microgrid was studied due to its high power density and cost-effectiveness. The other advantages of DAB include galvanic isolation and bidirectional power conversion capability using simple control modulation. The three-port DAB converter consists of a three winding transformer and three bridges. The transformer has three phases, which means that the ports are coupled. Thus, the three-port DAB converter causes unwanted power flows when the load connected to each port changes. The basic operational principles of the three-port DAB converter are presented in this study. The decoupling control strategy of the independent port power transfer is presented with a mathematical power model to overcome the unexpected power flow problem. The validity of the proposed analysis and control strategy is verified with PSIM simulation and experiments using a 1-kW prototype power converter.

  • A stand-alone Photovoltaic (PV) system is one of the most important energy system for Mongolian nomadic herders. Basically, a stand-alone PV system uses two DC-DC converters. This makes the system costly, size bigger and difficult to move from one place to another place for the nomadic herders. A combined control algorithm for charging the battery using Stage of Charge (SOC) and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is proposed in this paper. The batteries are charged by the three stage method; bulk, absorption and float charge. In the bulk stage used the MPPT function in this study. The performance of the proposed control algorithm is evaluated in both steady and changing weather conditions. The results are obtained using PSIM software. The results obtained in this paper are useful in designing a stand-alone PV system in the rural life like Mongolian nomadic herders.

  • This paper presents the design of zero current switching ZCS pulse frequency modulation type DC-DC converter for magnetron power supply. A magnetron serving as the microwave source in a microwave oven is driven by a switch mode power supply (SMPS). SMPSs have the advantages of improved efficiency, reduced size and weight, regulation and the ability to operate directly from the converter DC bus. The demands of the load system and the design of the power supply required to produce constant power at 4[kV]. A magnetron power supply requires the ability to limit the load current under short circuit conditions. The current source series resonant converter is a circuit configuration which can achieve this. The main features of the proposed converter are an inherent protection against a short circuit at the output, a high voltage gain and zero current switching over a large range of output power. These characteristics make it a viable choice for the implementation of a high voltage magnetron power supply.

  • This paper proposes the selective voltage balancing scheme of a modular multilevel DC-DC converter for solid-state transformers. In general, the sub-module capacitor voltage can be controlled uniformly by individual feedback controllers, however computation time increases according to the number of modules. The voltage balance control scheme in this paper can reduce the computation time by selecting and controlling sub-module of maximum/minimum voltage momentarily. The performance of the proposed selective voltage balancing scheme is verified by simulation.
