Efficiency Characteristic of Three-Level Converter (Three-Level 컨버터의 효율특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the Efficiency Characteristic of Three-Level Converter. Three-Level DC/DC Converter Presented in this paper is used a phase shift control with a flying capacitor in the primary side to achieve ZVS for the outer switch. This converter reduces the voltage stress across the main switch to half of input voltage. This paper analyses the loss of each component and the various losses for efficiency variation. The result of the analysis are verified using 3kW prototype.

  • In this paper, a novel multi voltage inverter system is proposed for reductions of harmonics, which can compensate reactive power. At first, we remove capacitor at input side for reactive power compensation. Secondly, by adding DC voltage to the filter capacitor, it can control power factors as lead-phase according to alterations of loads at power reception. Thirdly, if winding and single phase-bridge inverter(auxiliary circuit) is installed to DC power for reduction of harmonic, waveform of output voltages become to 36-steps. Thus, SVC(static var compensator) systems which can reduce harmonics are designed.

  • This paper presents an isolated bidirectional dc/dc converter based on primary parallel isolated boost converter (PPIBC). This topology is an efficient solution in low voltage high power applications due to its ability to handle high currents in the low voltage side. In this paper, the converter has been modeled using non-ideal components and operated without any additional circuitry for startup using a digital soft-start procedure. Simulated and measured loop gains have been compared for the validity of the model. On-the-fly current direction change has been achieved with a prototype interconnecting two battery banks. A second prototype has been constructed and tested for supercapacitor operation in constant power charge mode.

  • This paper presents the loss analysis of Three Level Converter.   • In this paper, a novel on-line do capacitance estimation method for the PWM converter is proposed. At no load, Input current at a low frequency is injected, which causes do voltage ripple. With the ac voltage and current ripple components of the dc side, the capacitance can be calculated. Experimental result shows that the estimation error is less than $2\%$.

  • In this paper, lithium-ion-polymer battery based standalone photovoltaic energy storage is presented. conventional system was difficult to choose hi-directional DC-DC converter because of unbalanced voltage of batteries. The other side, lithium-ion-polymer battery hardly contains unbalanced voltage between each batteries. And Lithium Polymer Battery is clean battery because is doesn't contain heavy metals such as Nickel, Cadmium. We analyzed validity of algorithms according to load pattern for the system through the simulation and experimental results.

  • 최근 대용량 전력 전송 시스템에서 모듈형 다단 컨버터(Modular Multilevel Converter; MMC)를 이용한 고압 직류(high voltage DC; HVDC) 송전 시스템이 각광받고 있다. 일반적으로, 전압형 컨버터는 AC 단출력전압 합성 방법에 따라 AC 단 전압 사용률이 달라지며, MMC 시스템에 있어서도 마찬가지이다. 따라서, HVDC 송전시스템의 DC 단의 용량이 정해져 있는 경우에도 출력전압 합성 방법에 따라 AC 단으로 공급 가능한 최대 무효전력의 크기를 변화시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 전압 변조 방식에 따른 암 에너지 맥동을 수학적으로 분석하였으며, 이를 MMC의 실제 스케일의 시뮬레이션으로 검증하였다.

  • This paper represented constant voltage power source equipment using voltage fed inverter. This system drived syncronizing power source, charged battery connected to DC side, and constantly maintained regardless of power source voltage variation and load variation. Output made good wave with PWM method and we proved stabile constant voltage output when AC power source is failure.

  • This paper describes characteristics of transient voltage waveforms caused by human electrostatic discharges(ESDs). For purpose of achieving the statistics on the meaningful amplitude and initial slope for transient ESD voltage waveforms, transient voltages due to human ESDs in various conditions were observed. A voltage measuring system with a wide bandwidth from DC to 400[MHz] was employed. ESD voltage waveforms are approximately the same as ESD current waveforms. Also the simulated results, which are calculated by the reposed equivalent circuit, are closely similar to the measured voltage waveforms. ESD voltage waveforms are strongly dependent on the approach speed and material of intruder, a fast approach causes ESD voltage waveform with a steep rise time than for a slow approach. The voltage waveforms from dialect finger ESDs have a relatively long rise time of 10∼30[ns], but their peaks are low. On the other side ESD voltage waveforms causer by screwdriver with insulating handle have a steep slope with a very short, less than 1[ns] rise time, but their initial spikes are extremely high The obtained results in this work would be applied to solve ESD problems for low voltage and small current electronic devices.

  • This paper deals with a bidirectional ac-dc converter used in ups system application. We propose a Voltage-Source-Charge-Pump-Power-Factor-Correction(VS-CPPFC) ac-dc converters. First of all, we propose a charge pump power-factor-correction converter. Secondly, we derive and analyse a unity power factor condition. The proposed topology is based on a half-bridge for the primary and a current-fed push pull for the secondary side of a high frequency isolation transformer. The advantage of bidirectional flow of power achieved by using the same power components is that the circuit is simple and efficient. And the galvanically isolated topology is specially attractive in battery charge/discharge circuits in ups system. We design equivalent model for the steady-state circuit and analyse operation waveforms for each mode. We show that the proposed model can be applied to ups system by simulation processes.
