  • This paper presents general concept of DC switch gear(DCSWGR). Normally, DCSWGR consist of Digital protection unit(DPU), High Speed Circuit Breaker(HSCB), Disconnect Switch (DS), Programmable Logic Control(PLC), Auxiliary Relays and etc. Most of the components has its special characteristics and their interface between each others are various and complex. In this paper every constituent general design are preceded and interface between each component are examined. And also DCSWGR operation logic with logical diagram including interlock signal are introduced.

  • The purpose of this research is to introduce a case study on application of practical engineering. Topic of the study is a medicine vending machine which consists of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), DC motor, switch, photo sensor and so on. In order to design and manufacture of the device, a lot of subjects which have learned during school year are reviewed and practiced. Especially, not only internal process but mechanical mechanism can be understood by organizing hardware and software of all parts. Also, several ideas like user made supply or exact counting are suggested for high performance. From this case study, students can increase their originality and adaptability for related industry. Also, the technique can be initiated industry if needed.

  • Droop control schemes have been widely employed in the control strategies for Multi-Terminal Direct Current (MTDC) system for its high reliability. Under the conventional DC voltage-active power droop control, the droop slope applies a proportional relationship between DC voltage error and active power error for power sharing. Due to the existence of DC network impedance and renewable resource fluctuation, there is inevitably a DC voltage deviation from the droop characteristic, which in turn results in inaccurate control of converter's power. To tackle this issue, a piecewise droop control with DC voltage dead band or active power dead band is implemented into controller design. Besides, an advanced droop control scheme with versatile function is proposed, which enables the converter to regulate DC voltage and AC voltage, control active and reactive power, get participated into frequency control, and feed passive network. The effectiveness of the proposed control method has been verified by simulation results.

  • The current marine communication networks are usually composed of NMEA0183, NMEA2000, and MiTS protocols which are located on the physical layer based on RS-422, RS-485, CAN, and EtherNet. This paper proposes a new bridge based on the DC power line communication technique supported from the NMEA0183 to design inside marine systems.

  • 원전에서 사용되는 계측제어계통 기기들의 국산화를 위하여 수행중인 KNICS 사업의 개발내용을 요약하였다. 본 연구개발은 계측제어계통 구성의 근간이 되는 핵심 기기를 PLC와 DCS로 선정하여 국산화하고, 이를 기반으로 원전에서 요구되는 각종 보호계통, 제어계통 및 감시계통 캐비닛을 개발한다. 원전 적용시 필수적으로 거쳐야 하는 인허가 획득을 위하여 개발요건 수립에서부터 기기검증에 이르기까지 체계적인 계획하에 개발을 추진중에 있으며, 개발결과는 국내 후속원전 건설 및 기존 원전의 기기교체 시 사용가능할 것으로 기대한다.

  • In crane drives, DC motor has been most widely used due to simple control characteristic and favorable transient behavior. Nowadays, however, the squirrel cage induction motor is known as an attractive candidate due to elimination of all sliding electrical contacts, resulting in an exceedingly simple and rugged construction. Especially, in hoist application, the smooth torque control and four quadrant operation are essential. In this paper, an operation of dual inverters with common DC bus fed by vector controlled induction motor is described. Single DSP is employed as a main processor to control dual inverters and communicates each input/output signal with PLC. As well as giving a detailed expression, full simulation and experimental results are presented.

  • This paper is purposed to develop hardware for controlling abnormal temperature that can occur environment and component itself in PCS. In order to be purpose, the hardware which is four part(sensing, PLC, monitoring and output) keep detecting temperature for critical components of PCS and can control the abnormal temperature. Apply to the hardware, it is selected to PV power generation facilities of 20 kW in Cheong-ju city and measured the data for one year in 2017. Through the temperature data, it is found critical components of four(discharge resistance, DC capacitor, IGBT, DSP board) and entered the setting value for operating the fan. The setting values for operating the fan are up to $130^{\circ}C$ in discharge resistance, $60^{\circ}C$ in DC capacitor, $55^{\circ}C$ in IGBT and DSP board. The hardware is installed at the same PCS(20 kW in Cheong-ju city) in 2018 and the power generation output is analyzed for the five days with the highest atmospheric temperature(Clear day) in July and August in 2017 and 2018 years. Therefore, the power generation output of the PV system with hardware increased up to 4 kWh.

RF Channel Characteristics of the Medium-voltage Power Line for PLC (전력선통신을 위한 중 전압용 전력선의 RF채널 특성)

  • In this Paper, the channel characteristics of the medium voltage(22.9kV) power line to analysis the broadband power line communication in the frequency range up to 30MHz was measured. With the sideband electrical coupler in the operating frequency range from DC to 30MHz, we measured characteristic impedance, noise and attenuation of the medium voltage power line, and then characteristic impedance was measured at the state of unloaded medium voltage power line by Scattering parameter method of Vector Network Analyzer. As a measurement result, Channel impedance shows 100~380$\Omega$ at the less than 15MHz and 70~230$\Omega$ at the more than 15 MHz. Noise characteristics of power line shows -75dBm at 20MHz and Narrowband interference noise was from 3 MHz to 7MHz.

  • This paper presents the implementation of variable structure control system for a linear or nonlinear system using neural networks. The overall control system consists of neural network controller and a reaching mode controller. While the former approximates the equivalent control input on the sliding surface, the latter is used to bring the entire system trajectories toward the sliding surface. No supervised learning procedures are needed and the weights of the neural network are tuned on-line automatically. The neural netowrk-based variable structure control system is applied to a nonlinare unstable inverted pendulum system through computer simulations, and implemented using a microcomputer (80486-50MHz) and applied to the DC servomotor position control system. Simulation and experimental results show the expected approximation sliding property is occurred. The proposed controller is compared with a PID controller and shows better performance than the PID controller in abrupt plant parameter change.

  • PAL-XFEL 장치에 사용 할 고전압 펄스 모듈레이터 출력파워는 수 ${\mu}s$ 범위의 짧은 고전압(400 kV), 대전류(500 A) 펄스를 요구한다. 이러한 펄스파워를 얻기 위해서 PFN(Pulse Forming Network)에 에너지를 축적하고, 플라즈마 스위치인 싸이라트론을 통하여 에너지를 신속하게 클라이스트론 쪽으로 전달한다. 클라이스트론은 모듈레이터에서 공급하는 펄스 전원을 이용하여 RF를 증폭하는 대출력 고주파 증폭장치이다. 고전압 펄스 모듈레이터 제어기는 고속펄스 신호처리 모듈(Fast Pulse Signal Conditioning Module), PLC(Programmable Logic Controller)로 구성되어 있다. 고전압 펄스 모듈레이터에 사용하는 대용량 싸이라트론은 고전력을 스위칭 할 때 발생하는 스위칭 노이즈는 매우 크다. 이러한 노이즈는 모듈레이터의 출력 시그널인 빔 전압, 빔 전류, EOLC(End of Line Clipper) 전류, DC high voltage에 섞여 있으면서 신호 왜곡 및 제어장치의 고장을 유발시킨다. 이처럼 노이즈가 많이 포함되어 있는 아닐로그 신호를 깨끗한 신호(a clean signal)로 바꾸어주는 노이즈 필터링 장치인 고속펄스 신호처리 모듈을 제작하여 실험한 결과를 알아보고 모듈레이터 인터록 시스템인 PLC에서 Dynamic Interlock의 응답시간을 빠르게 하기위한 회로 수정에 대한 결과에 관하여 기술하고자 한다.
