Development of Autonomous Navigation Algorithm for Very Small Unmanned Surface Vehicle based on GPS (GPS 기반의 초소형 무인선박을 위한 자율항법 알고리즘 개발)

  • Recently, unmanned systems have been studied and developed in various areas including aircrafts, automobiles and vessels. In addition, many researches about unmanned systems in Korea have been studying actively with the advancement of IT However, it is not satisfied with the result of the researches and developments. Bemuse of the reason we've here tried to make a very small USV which is a barge type. We applied the Great circle navigation calculation based on GPS to the autonomous navigation algorithm and used the LabVIEW 8.2 developed by NI corp. for programming The engine and rudder were controlled by pulse width modulation method. The engine system was composed of the DC motor and ESC(Electronic Speed Controller). It was also applied by the direct cooling system using DC motor pump. A very small USV was designed and made by ourself and it was verified the effectiveness of autonomous navigation algorithm through the tests at the sea.

  • In this paper, we propose the method to control the position of LDM(Linear DC Motor) using vision system. The proposed method is composed of a vision system for position detecting, and main computer calculates PID control output which is deliver to 8051 actuator circuit in serial communication. To confirm the usefulness of the proposed method, we experimented about position control of a small size LDM using CCD camera which has a performance 30frames/sec as vision system.

  • We develop an embedded system to measure various sensor data, control multiple motors, and communicate with mobile devices for system managements. Choosing TI AM3359 microprocessor featuring high processing performance, low power consumption, and various I/O device support, we design and build the embedded system hardware so that it supports multiple global positioning system (GPS) and gyro sensor modules to measure precise position; multiple pulse width modulation (PWM) outputs to control multiple direct current (DC) motors; a Bluetooth module to communicate with mobile devices. Then, we port the boot loader and device drivers to the built circuit board and construct the firmware development environment for the application programming. The performance of the designed and implemented embedded system is demonstrated by real motor control test using GPS and gyro sensor data and control parameters configured by a mobile device.

  • Recently PWM invertor is broadly used for control of induction motor. The invertor is able to generate sin wave current from high speed switching power device such as IGBT. However the invertor is disturbed by dead time inevitably needed to prevent a short of the DC link voltage, and the dead time mainly causes distortions of the output current. In this Paper the dead time compensation method which corrects the voltage error from dead time, and Min Max algorithm enlarging the operating voltage of PWM were Proposed. This method can be implemented by software programming without any additional hardware circuit. The proposed algorithms were implemented by DSP(TMS320C31, 40MHz) and FPGA(QL2007, Quick Logic) described in VHDL. and applied to 3 phase induction motor(2.2 KW) to show the superior performance

  • Most of the today realized fuzzy logic control applications has been designed using different heuristic approaches for synthesis and implemented with conventional programming languages on general purpose microcontrollers. This paper aims to present a new methodology to design a fuzzy controller. The methodology is based on the Cell-to-Cell approach to extract the control law. A set of fuzzy rules is then found by using a FAM (Fuzzy associative memories) approach. The proposed procedure was implemented to control the rotor position of a DC motor.

  • Gas chromatographic method for the analysis of phorate(0,0-diethyl S-ethyl-thiomethyl phosphorithioate) and its metabolites in soil and vegetables was studied by using a mixed phase column(10% DC-200+8% Reoplex-400+2% QF-1 on Gas Chrom Q, $1.8{\times}2mm$ i.d, borosilicate glass column). This column can separate completely phorate and its four metabolites except phoratoxon sulfoxide. Retention time of standard mixture ranged 1.8 to 16.1 minutes at column temperature programming from 130 to $200^{\circ}C$ at $5^{\circ}C/min$ and detector sensitivity was also very high(0.05 to 1.05ng). Recoveries from soil and vegetables untreated but fortified with phorate and its three major metabolites at 0.05 and 0.5ppm levels were above 90% for phorate, phorate sulfoxide and phorate sulfone while recovery of phoratoxon metabolite was about 84%.

  • This paper proposed a division algorithm of performance complexity $O{\frac{n(n+1)}{2}}$ for a change-making problem(CMP) in which polynomial time algorithms are not known as NP-hard problem. CMP seeks to minimize the sum of the xj number of coins exchanged when a given amount of money C is exchanged for cj,j=1,2,⋯,n coins. Known polynomial algorithms for CMPs are greedy algorithms(GA), divide-and-conquer (DC), and dynamic programming(DP). The optimal solution can be obtained by DP of O(nC), and in general, when given C>2n, the performance complexity tends to increase exponentially, so it cannot be called a polynomial algorithm. This paper proposes a simple algorithm that calculates quotient by dividing upper triangular matrices and main diagonal for k×n matrices in which only j columns are placed in descending order of cj of n for cj ≤ C and i rows are placed k excluding all the dividers in cj. The application of the proposed algorithm to 39 benchmarking experimental data of various types showed that the optimal solution could be obtained quickly and accurately with only a calculator.

  • This paper suggests one model, which can be monitor and control target system at anytime and anywhere by a WAP and ME based personal cellular phone(Feature phone) and internet connection. The suggesting model tried to overcome constraints of distance and mobility of conventional methods, TCP/IP based remote data monitoring system, which combine PDA and WLAN technologies. For the experiments of suggesting model, the target systems are constructed with individual modules, which need AC or DC power control. The development software for the control and monitor of local system use NI Labview for the easy-programming and confidence. Also, web server use APM setup for the general user. The mobile connection environments of personal cellular phone are programmed by use WML and mHTML language for the general access. Through the experiments, we have showed that suggesting model can overcome constraints of distance and mobility of conventional system.

  • In this paper, we propose a improved control performance for autonomous mobile robot using the embeded system. The proposed PID(PPID) control method removes steady state error, and has good performance in transient response. The integral term in the proposed method accumulates error in increment section, inverses errors in decrement section, and increases the effect of integral coefficient around target. Therefore, the PPID control method decreases the overshoot, and makes settling time faster than general PID(GPID) control method. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method(PPID), we simulated the position control of DC motor, and experimented the velocity control of autonomous mobile robot. The PPID control method demonstrated good control performance that decrease overshoot and settling time in simulation and experiments.

A New Simplified Vector Control For A High Performance Common-Arm IHCML Inverter (고성능 공통암 IHCML 인버터를 위한 새로운 벡터 제어 방식)

  • In this paper, a novel space vector control method for isolated multi-level inverter using 3-phase low frequency transformers is proposed. This method is based on the simplification of the space-vector diagram of a five-level inverter using calculated table into fully programming method. The execution time of the proposed method is about same as that of the method using calculated table. Also, the proposed method is easily applied to other case level inverter. We applied this method into the 3-phase IHCML inverter using common arm. It makes possible to use a single DC power source due to employing low frequency transformers. In this inverter, the number of transformers could be reduced compare with an exiting 3-phase multi-level inverter using single phase transformer. In addition, this method generates very low harmonic distortion operation with nearly fundamental switching frequency. Finally, We tested multi-level inverter to clarify electric circuit and reasonableness through Matlab simulation and experiment by using prototype inverter.
