Fabrication of Planar Multi-junction Thermal Converter (평면형 다중접합 열전변환기의 제작)

  • Planar multi-junction thermal converters were fabricated for precise measurements of the ac voltage and current by an ac-dc transfer method. A heater and a thermocouple array were fabricated onto a sandwiched membrane, $Si_{3}N_{4}$ (200 nm) / $SiO_{2}$ (400 nm) / $Si_{3}N_{4}$ (200 nm), a thickness of $0.8\;{\mu}m$ and a size of $2{\times}4\;mm^{2}$, which is supported by a surrounding frame. The NiCr heater is located at the center of the membrane vertically. Hot junctions of $48{\sim}156$ pairs of thermocouples (Cu-CuNi44) are located near or onto the heater, and cold junctions are located onto the silicon frame. Output of the thermal converters for 10 mA dc input was $76\;mV{\sim}382\;mV$ dependent on a model, and short term stability of the outputs was ${\pm}5{\sim}15\;ppm$/ 10 min with 5 mA dc input. Responsivity in air was in the range of $3.9{\sim}14.5V/W$. Responsivity of the model BF48 in air which has 48 thermocouples was 2 times or greater than that of 3 dimensional multi-junction thermal converter in vacuum which has 56 thermocouples. AC-DC transfer differences with an input of 10 mA or less were less than ${\pm}1\;ppm$ in the frequency range from 5 Hz to 2 kHz, and about $2{\sim}3\;ppm$ at 5 kHz and 10 kHz.

  • This paper proposes control methods and simulation models of a driving system, which consists of converters and inverters, for high speed trains employing multi-level power converters. The control method of a single phase three-level converter for high-speed trains is designed to use DC values instead of instantaneous current values which are usually used in single-phase application, so that it results in a fast and robust voltage control response. In addition, simulation models of Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) for single phase three-level converters as well as three level inverters are proposed. Experimental results demonstrate the validity of the simulation model for three-level inverters.

  • 본 논문은 단상 PWM 컨버터의 직류링크 전해커패시터의 용량을 추정하는 기법을 제안한다. 무부하 상태에서 저주파수의 교류전압성분을 직류링크에 주입하여 리플 전압 및 전력 성분을 이용하여 커패시터의 용량을 계산한다. 제안된 방법은 실험적으로 검증되며 추정된 커패시터 용량의 오차는 0.85% 이내이다.

  • In this paper, a voltage control method based on DQ transformation and Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) for a single phase three-level converter is proposed. This control method is designed to use DC values instead of using instantaneous values of current which are usually used in single-phase application, so that it results in a fast and robust voltage control response. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the control strategies.

  • 본 논문은 댐핑 저항을 사용하지 않고 LCL필터를 사용한 계통 연계형 PWM 컨버터를 제어하기 위해 종속(cascade) 구조를 갖는 궤환선형화 제어기법을 제안한다. 제안된 제어 알고리즘은 2[MW] DFIG 풍력발전 시스템에 적용한 시뮬레이션과 3[kW] AC/DC PWM 컨버터에 적용한 실험을 통해 그 타당성이 검증된다.

  • In foreign countries, high-efficiency electric machineries have been developed in view of cost reduction, environmental issues, energy conservation etc. Especially they focus on developing energy conservation measures and demand-side management. Thus, patent application and secure of patent claims are on the rise as important issues in this field. In this paper, we analyzed patent application trends about inverters, ac/dc converters, reactive power control equipments, high-efficiency transformers and electric ballasts among high-efficiency electric machineries. First, we analyzed general technology trends, and constructed patent technology data. Second, we graphed patent application trends in terms of application years, assignees and nations.

  • 본 논문에서는 댐핑저항을 사용하지 않고 LCL필터를 사용한 AC/DC PWM 컨버터를 제어하기 위해 다중 구조의 궤환 선형화 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 일반 궤환선형화와는 달리 다중구조를 지니므로 컨버터 입력전류의 제한이 가능하다는 장점을 지닌다. 전원전압과 전원전류를 추정하기 위해 추정기가 사용되며 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 제어기의 성능이 검증된다.

  • In this paper, an active damping control scheme for LLCL filters based on the PR (proportional-resonant) regulator is proposed for grid-connected three-level T-type PWM converter systems. The PR controller gives an infinite gain at the resonance frequency. As a result, the oscillation can be suppressed at that frequency. In order to improve the stability of the system in the case of grid impedance variations, online grid impedance estimation is applied. Simulation and experimental results have verified the effectiveness of the proposed scheme for three-phase T-type AC/DC PWM converters.

  • In this paper, various reduced parts converter topologies and control strategies for power factor correction and motor control are reviewed and systematic design methodology is developed. From this investigation, the converter topologies could be mainly categorized into cascade type and unified type. The detailed operational principles are examined and the performance comparison is derived to illustrate merits and limitations of the converters. Simulation results are provided to help the better understanding of the theoretical description and several experimental results are presented on prototype induction motor better brush less dc (BLDC) motor drives, along with cascade and unified type converters.
