  • An improved optimum design method for reinforced concrete frames using integrated genetic algorithm(GA) with direct search method is presented. First, various sets of initially assumed sections are generated using GA, and then, for each resultant design member force condition optimum solutions are selected by regression analysis and direct search within pre-determined design section database. In advance, global optimum solutions are selected from accumulated results through several generations. Proposed algorithm makes up for the weak point in standard genetic algorithm(GA), that is, low efficiency in convergence causing the deterioration of quality of final solutions and shows fast convergence together with improved results. Moreover, for the purpose of elevating economic efficiency, optimum design based on the nonlinear structural analysis is performed and therefore makes all members resist against given loading condition with the nearest resisting capacity. The investigation for the effectiveness of the introduced design procedure is conducted through correlation study for example structures.

  • Sounding data is the essential source for the safety of ships navigation system, and fundamental to the reasonable usage and maintenance of the ocean as well. As IT tech, positioning equipment such as GPS and INS, echo sounder are developed, recently, the precise submarine topography database bas been built by Multi-Beam Echo Sounder. However, MBES data includes some inevitable error caused by several factor, and some data have errors where the terrain is wobble. The error, which causes the $moir\acute{e}$ pattern error is the main factor hindering the accuracy of MBES data results, and therefore it is necessary to figure out the main cause of the error for the improvement of the accuracy by removing error data. On this research, the main cause of the error data is studied by analyzing motion sensor value of data including the $moir\acute{e}$ pattern error. Thus, as the result of examination, it turns out that the $moir\acute{e}$ pattern error is related to the standard deviation of Roll, and error data values are results of the non-correspondence between Swath data and Roll values caused by the drastic change of Roll values. Accordingly, the error data is removed by comparing between the gradient of Swath data and Roll values. Finally, as the result of removing error data, it is expected to be able to estimate the quality of MBES using the standard deviation of Motion sensor's Roll value, and calculate the additive error factor, which minimize non-corresponding data, and also this research must be contributed to improve the accuracy of sounding for small vessels with lots of motion in the bad circumstance for navigation.

  • According to the Korean datum change to a world geodetic system, the EDM area should be readjusted to provide consistent product over the country. The data set for EDM area is extracted from the previous KTN1987 DB and checked for the moved markers in XY network adjustment which provides quality verification. Then, EDM data set for the seven areas are rebuilt for the adjustment. Since the data is still based on the old datum, the coordinates of the data are transformed by applying the coordinate transformation parameters. Here, the transformation parameters, which were determined for the conversion of 1:50,000 topographic maps by NGII, were used. For each EDM point, the geoidal height from EGM96 model is applied to obtain the ellipsoidal height based on the GRS80. The measured distance projected onto GRS80 is adjusted using BL network adjustment by fixing 2nd order or 3rd order GPS control points. The results from the readjustment show the minimum standard error of 1.37" and the maximum standard error of 2.13". Considering the measurement accuracy of EDM (1.6" corresponding to about 2cm) and GPS position for fixed points (2cm), this result is considered to be reasonable and it is good for the practical use.

  • In this study, a gasoline test vehicle was evaluated for drive quality in emissions and fuel economy tests. The measurement results were compared with the manufacturer's suggested values to evaluate whether the tolerance ranges (fuel efficiency -5%, greenhouse gas +5%) were exceeded. We carried out tests with test subjects based on the SAE J2951 evaluation method. The test vehicle was a 2L gasoline vehicle. The drive following performance was found to increase under deliberate driving conditions and decreased in smooth driving conditions. As a result of the analysis of the drive following performance, the closer the value is to 1, the more accurate the driving is. (-) indicates harsh conditions, and (+) indicates gentle conditions. The basic data on the driver following between testers was obtained by analysis of the tests. The fuel efficiency correlation with the drive following performance within the target speed range of the fuel consumption mode. In the future, these measurement results can serve as key data for securing an exhaust gas database and fuel efficiency system for each measurement mode.

  • This study was conducted to determine the effect of mathematical transformation on near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) calibrations for the prediction of chemical composition and fermentation parameters in corn silage. Corn silage samples (n=407) were collected from cattle farms and feed companies in Korea between 2014 and 2015. Samples of silage were scanned at 1 nm intervals over the wavelength range of 680~2,500 nm. The optical data were recorded as log 1/Reflectance (log 1/R) and scanned in intact fresh condition. The spectral data were regressed against a range of chemical parameters using partial least squares (PLS) multivariate analysis in conjunction with several spectral math treatments to reduce the effect of extraneous noise. The optimum calibrations were selected based on the highest coefficients of determination in cross validation ($R^2{_{cv}}$) and the lowest standard error of cross validation (SECV). Results of this study revealed that the NIRS method could be used to predict chemical constituents accurately (correlation coefficient of cross validation, $R^2{_{cv}}$, ranging from 0.77 to 0.91). The best mathematical treatment for moisture and crude protein (CP) was first-order derivatives (1, 16, 16, and 1, 4, 4), whereas the best mathematical treatment for neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) was 2, 16, 16. The calibration models for fermentation parameters had lower predictive accuracy than chemical constituents. However, pH and lactic acids were predicted with considerable accuracy ($R^2{_{cv}}$ 0.74 to 0.77). The best mathematical treatment for them was 1, 8, 8 and 2, 16, 16, respectively. Results of this experiment demonstrate that it is possible to use NIRS method to predict the chemical composition and fermentation quality of fresh corn silages as a routine analysis method for feeding value evaluation to give advice to farmers.

  • Currently, despite the quantitative growth of domestic journal, objective and metric criterion to evaluate the contents and quality of those journals is inadequate. As a result, depending on a foreign citation index like SCI to evaluate the research result is causing some problems such as, thesis of an excellent standard being presented and published in foreign countries, thus, neglecting journals written in Korean. Hereat, the Korea Citation Index(KCI) is constructing a database of the journals published by academic associations; scientific paper information, articles information, and bibliographic, analyzing the quoting relation. Consequently, KCI is providing the basic information and the corresponding quoting relations of journals and papers on its webpage. This study compares the impact level of domestic accounting related journals by KCI and analyzes the network among journals using the cross-citation frequency from a social network analysis point of view. As a result, Accounting-related journals are now more desirable than the location in order to have a variety of interdisciplinary research needs to be encouraged. Through this exchange of other disciplines and actively made, which is the phase of apparent accounting-related journals expect to be greatly enhanced looks.

  • This study developed a system that can collect, manage, and utilize the travel routes of individuals who tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) based on the data standardization and quality management principles and presented the analysis data collected from the existing system. Unlike many other countries in the world, Korea demonstrated a rapid response by conducting epidemiological investigations. Further, the local governments have actively shared the travel routes of individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 to facilitate proactive prevention of the infectious disease per the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Law. However, currently, there is no standard protocol for the local governments to share the information, thus complicating the process of sharing, managing, and utilizing the collected data. Therefore, this study developed a system that can facilitate sharing of the travel routes of individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 by establishing database construction procedures and using the travel route of COVID-19 patients as per the Disaster & Safety Information Sharing Platform and developing a data processing guideline, a data entry system with default templates, and Open API. Although this sharing system was designed to communicate the travel routes of COVID-19 patients, it can also be utilized in case of other infectious diseases. Therefore, it can be used as a response strategy for future outbreaks of infectious diseases.

  • Folate, a water-soluble vitamin, acts as a coenzyme for one-carbon metabolism in nucleic acid synthesis and amino acid metabolism. Adequate folate nutritional status during the periconceptional period is known to prevent neural tube defects. In addition, insufficient folate intake is associated with various conditions, such as anemia, hyperhomocysteinemia, cardiovascular disease, cancer, cognitive impairment, and depression. This review discusses the rationale for the revision of the 2020 Korean dietary reference intakes for folate, and suggestions for future revisions. Based on the changes in the standard body weight in 2020, the adequate intake (AI) for infants (5-11 months) and the estimated average requirements (EARs) for 15-18 years of age were revised, but there were no changes in the recommended nutrient intakes (RNIs) and tolerable upper intake levels (ULs) for all age groups. Mean folate intake did not reach RNI in most age groups and was particularly low in women aged 15-29 years, according to the results of the 2016-2018 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). The percentages of folate intake to RNI were lower than 60% in pregnant and lactating women, but serum folate concentrations were higher than those in other age groups, presumably due to the use of supplements. Therefore, total folate intake, from both food and supplements, should be evaluated. In addition, the database of folate in raw, cooked, and fortified foods should be further expanded to accurately assess the folate intake of Koreans. Determination of the concentrations of erythrocyte folate and plasma homocysteine as well as serum folate is recommended, and quality control of the analysis is critical.

  • Near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) has become increasingly used as a rapid and accurate method of evaluating some chemical compositions in forages. The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential of NIRS, applied to imported forage, to estimate the moisture and chemical parameters for imported hays. A population of 392 imported hay representing a wide range in chemical parameters was used in this study. Samples of forage were scanned at 1 nm intervals over the wavelength range 680-2500nm and the optical data was recorded as log 1/Reflectance(log 1/R), which scanned in intact fresh condition. The spectral data were regressed against a range of chemical parameters using partial least squares(PLS) multivariate analysis in conjunction with spectral math treatments to reduced the effect of extraneous noise. The optimum calibrations were selected based on the highest coefficients of determination in cross validation(R2) and the lowest standard error of cross-validation(SECV). The results of this study showed that NIRS predicted the chemical parameters with very high degree of accuracy. The R2 and SECV for imported hay calibration were 0.92(SECV 0.61%) for moisture, 0.98(SECV 0.65%) for acid detergent fiber, 0.97(SECV 0.40%) for neutral detergent fiber, 0.99(SECV 0.06%) for crude protein and 0.97(SECV 3.04%) for relative feed value on a dry matter(%), respectively. Results of this experiment showed the possibility of NIRS method to predict the moisture and chemical composition of imported hay in Korea for routine analysis method to evaluate the feed value.
