An Efficient Synthesis of Phospha-Morita-Baylis-Hillman Adducts via Michaelis-Arbuzov Reaction of the DABCO Salt of Morita-Baylis-Hillman Bromide

  • An efficient synthesis of phospha-Morita-Baylis-Hillman adducts was carried out in good yields via the Michaelis-Arbuzov reaction of the DABCO salts of MBH bromides. Instead of a DABCO salt, a phosphonium salt could be effectively used for some substrates which showed some problems in the presence of DABCO.

Effect of Catalyst Type and NCO Index on the Synthesis and Thermal Properties of Poly(urethane-isocyanurate) Foams

  • The effect of the NCO index and catalyst type on the thermal stability of poly(urethane-isocyanurate) (PUIR) foams was investigated to identify a method for enhancing the flame resistance of PUIR. PUIR foams were prepared using 4,4-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) and [(diethylene glycol)adipate]diol, which were synthesized by esterification of adipic acid and diethylene glycol. Dabco K-15, Dabco TMR-30, and Toyocat RX-5 were used as the catalysts for trimerization and gelation. The amount of urea and isocyanurate groups in PUIR was semi-quantitatively determined by normalizing their absorbance with the phenyl absorbance measured by FT-IR. The normalization data showed that Dabco TMR-30 effectively generated isocyanurate groups in PUIR. As a result, Dabco TMR-30 effectively raised the decomposition temperature and increased the 800 K and 900 K residues of the PUIR foam synthesized with an NCO index of 200.

폴리우레탄 절연전선도료 제조시 TDI와 MDI의 Blocking 반응에 미치는 여러가지 반응조건의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Various Reaction Conditions on the Blocking Reactions of TDI and MDI in the Preparation of Polyurethane Varnishes)

  • 폴리우레탄 전선도료 제조시의 TDI와 MDI의 blocking 반응에 미치는 촉매와 blocking reagents(BR)의 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane(DABCO)와 tetramethyl guanidine(TMG)와 같은 촉매들은 NCO의 blocking 반응을 완결시키는데 필요한 것으로 나타났다. TMG는 DABCO에 비해 매우 빠른 반응속도를 보였다. TMG의 농도는 1%까지 반응도에 대하여 정량적으로 비례하였다. DABCO의 경우는 0.25%의 농도에서 가장 높은 반응도를 나타내었다. BR의 입체영향을 알아보기 위해 phenol, p-cresol, m-cresol, o-cresol, 2,4-xylenol과 같은 BR 등을 사용하였다. 예측한대로 입체장애가 적은 BR이 높은 반응도를 보였다. 또한 이 반응 시스템에서는 온도와 BR의 농도가 증가할수록 반응도가 증가하였다.

DABCO-Catalyzed Green Synthesis of 2-Hydroxy-1,4-diones via Direct Aldol Reaction of Arylglyoxals in Water

  • A green and simple method to synthesize of 1,4-diketones via aldol reaction of arylglyoxals and ketones such as 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-propanone, deoxybenzoin and substituted acetophenones in the presence of a catalytic amount of DABCO in water at room temperature has been reported. Corresponding 2-hydroxy-1,4-diones were obtained in moderate to high yields with simple separation of obtained solid from reaction mixture and recrystallization.

A DABCO Derived Ionic Liquid Based on Tetrafluoroborate Anion: Preparation, Characterization and Evaluation of its Catalytic Activity in the Synthesis of 14-Aryl-14H-dibenzo[a, j]xanthenes

  • A room-temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) derived from 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) consisting of tetrafluoroborate anion, 1-butyl-4-(4-sulfonylbutyl)-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane hydrogen sulfate tetrafluoroborate ($[C_4DABCOC_4SO_3H][BF_4][HSO_4]$) was synthesized and catalytically evaluated in the synthesis of 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes by cyclocondensation reaction of ${\beta}$-naphthol and aryl aldehydes. This novel RTIL with an acidic $SO_3H$ group showed high catalytic activity with good to excellent yields of the desired products in short reaction times. Moreover, the catalyst could be recovered and reused at least three times with only slight reduction in its catalytic activity.

Preparation of Polyenaryloxynitriles from Dicyanovinyl Chloride and Diphenol Derivatives in the Presence of DABCO

  • The kinetic study of the enaryloxynitriles via the nucleophilic vinylic substitution reaction of various phenol derivatives with 1-chloro-1-phenyl-2,2-dicyanoethene (1) was conducted in the presence of 1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane (DABCO). Nucleo philic vinylic substitution of phenol derivatives with electrophilic olefins carrying sluggish leaving group involves a third-order reaction. The reaction was applied to solution polymerization of diphenol derivatives with p-bis(1-chrolo-2,2-dicyanovinyl)benzene (2), which yielded various polyenaryloxynitriles with moderate molecular weight.

분유의 유지 산화안정성 (Oxidative Stability Fat in Milk Powder)

  • DHA(cis-4,7,10,13,16,19-docosahexaenoic acid)가 첨가된 분유와 보통분유의 저장중 지방의 산화안정성을 thiobarbituric acid법에 의해 살펴보았다. 두 종류의 분유는 지역의 슈퍼마켓에서 구입하여 시료병에 $2{\pm}0.05\;g$씩 넣어 암소와 빛의 존재하에서 저장하였다. DHA가 첨가된 분유 지방 산화는 보통 분유보다 증가되었고 특히 빛의 존재하에서 산화는 더욱 촉진되었다. 빛과 DHA를 포함한 불포화지방산은 분유지방을 산화시킴에 있어 상호 역할을 강화시키고 있었다. DABCO (diazabicyclooctane)를 분유에 첨가하면 빛에 노출된 분유의 지방 산화를 줄였는데 이는 분유에서도 일중항산소에 의한 광산화가 발생함을 암시한다. DABCO에 의한 유지방의 산화 억제 정도는 DHA가 첨가된 분유에서 높게 나타났다.
