X밴드용 다이폴 급전 평면배열 안테나 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of the Dipole-Fed Planar Array Antenna at X-Band)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존외 야기-우다 안테나 배열이론을 마이크로스트립 안테나에 접목시킨 X밴드용 다이폴 급전 평면배열 안테나를 설계하고 제작하였다. 그리고 넓은 대역폭을 갖는 무선통신 시스팀에 쉽게 적용시킬수 있는 다이폴 급전 평면배열 안테나의 설계 절차에 대하여 기술하였다. 또한 FDTD 수치해석법을 이용하여 안테나의 복사특성, 반사손실과 대역폭을 개선시켰으며 제작을 통해 평면형 안테나 해석의 타당성을 입증하였다. 제작한 결과, 10GHz의 중심주파수에서 안테나의 이득은 4.9dBi이고 대역폭은 약 40%, 전후방비는 16dB, E면과 H면의 반 전력 빔폭은 각각 117°와 156°이다. VSWR<2를 기준으로 했을 때, 7.4GHz∼11.88GHZ의 주파수 범위에서 측정결과와 이론적인 결과가 비교적 잘 일치하였다.

  • Characteristics of the lifted flame which is generated by issuing of the fuel through the miniature nozzle, d=0.164 mm, are studied using the planar laser induced fluorescence technique. OH radical is excited on the $Q_1$(8) line of the $A^2{\Sigma}\ ^+{\leftarrow}\ X^2{\prod}$ (1,0) band transition(283.55 nm) and LIF signals are captured at the bands of (0,0) and (1,1) transition(306-326 nm) using the filters and ICCD camera. Hydroxyl radical(OH) profile for nozzle attached flame shows that OH radical populations at the flame sides and flame tip are larger than those at the base. But for the lifted flame (tribrachial flame) case, those are larger at the flame base than at the flame tip and flame sides. The OH radical is more dense near the center line of flame base at the blowing out. This fact proves the Chung and Lee's blowout theory - blowout occurs when the flame is anchored at the flame axis.

Semi-lumped Balun Transformer using Coupled LC Resonators

  • This paper presents a semi-lumped balun transformer using conventional PCB process and its design theory and geometry for the maximally flat response and wide bandwidth using magnetically coupled LC resonators. The proposed balun is comprised of two pairs of coupled resonators which share one among three LC resonators. It provides an identical magnitude and phase difference of 180° between two balanced ports with DC isolation and an impedance transformation characteristic. Theoretical design and analysis were performed to optimize the inductance and capacitance values of proposed balun device for obtaining the wide bandwidth and maximally flat response in its pass-band. Three balun transformers with a center frequency of 500 MHz were demonstrated for proving the concept of design proposed. They were fabricated by using lumped chip capacitors and planar inductors embedded into a conventional 4-layered PCB substrate. They exhibited a maximum magnitude difference of 0.8 dB and phase difference within 2.4 degrees.

일차원과 이차원 Ka-대역 프린티드 다이폴 배열 안테나의 스캔 블라인드니스 분석 (Scan Blindness Analysis of 1D and 2D Ka-Band Printed Dipole Array Antenna)

  • 본 논문에서는 일차원 배열과 이차원 배열일 때 프린티드 다이폴의 스캔 블라인드니스 특성을 분석한다. 먼저 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 일차원과 이차원 배열일 때 프린티드 다이폴안테나의 능동소자패턴을 구한다. 이차원 배열에서는 E-면 방향으로 스캔 블라인드니스가 ${\pm}36^{\circ}$ 부근에서 발생하였으나, 일차원 배열에서는 스캔 블라인드현상이 거의 관측되지 않았다. 이차원 스캔 블라인드니스 원인을 분석하기 위해 먼저 이차원 배열의 단위 셀 분산 특성을 구하고, 주파수에 따른 스캔 블라인드니스와 비교한다. 그리고 일차원 배열과 이차원 배열에서의 단위 셀에서 Q 값을 비교함으로써 일차원과 이차원 배열에서 스캔 블라인드현상 차이를 설명한다. 선형으로 배열된 다이폴 구조에서 두 포트 사이에 아홉 개의 소자가 떨어져 있을 때 E-면 방향으로 전기장의 커플링을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 관측함으로써 이론의 타당성을 보인다. 마지막으로 프린티드 다이폴 배열을 제작하고, $11{\times}1$ 부배열과 $11{\times}3$ 부배열에 대해 능동소자패턴을 각각 측정하여, 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교함으로 이론을 검증한다.

Unidirectional Photo-induced Charge Separation and Thermal Charge Recombination of Cofacially Aligned Donor-Acceptor System Probed by Ultrafast Visible-Pump/Mid-IR-Probe Spectroscopy

  • A new ${\pi}$-stacked donor-acceptor (D-A) system, [Ru(1-([2,2'-bipyridine]-6-yl-methyl)-3-(2-cyclohexa-2',5'-diene-1,4-dionyl)-1H-imidazole)(2,2':6',2"-terpyridine)]$[PF_6]_2$ (ImQ_T), has been synthesized and characterized. Similar to its precedent, [Ru(6-(2-cyclohexa-2',5'-diene-1,4-dione)-2,2':6',2"-terpyridine)(2,2':6',2"-terpyridine)]$[PF_6]_2$ (TQ_T), this system has a cofacial alignment of terpyridine (tpy) ligand and quinonyl (Q) group, which facilitates an electron transfer through ${\pi}$-stacked manifold. Despite the presence of lowest-energy charge transfer transition from the Ru-based-HOMO-to-Q-based-LUMO (MQCT) predicted by theoretical calculations by using time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT), the experimental steady-state absorption spectrum does not exhibit such a band. The selective excitation to the Ru-based occupied orbitals-to-tpy-based virtual orbital MLCT state was thus possible, from which charge separation (CS) reaction occurred. The photo-induced CS and thermal charge recombination (CR) reactions were probed by using ultrafast visible-pump/mid-IR-probe (TrIR) spectroscopic method. Analysis of decay kinetics of Q and $Q^-$ state CO stretching modes as well as aromatic C=C stretching mode of tpy ligand gave time constants of <1 ps for CS, 1-3 ps for CR, and 10-20 ps for vibrational cooling processes. The electron transfer pathway was revealed to be Ru-tpy-Q rather than Ru-bpy-imidazol-Q.

  • To enhance catalyst activity of the palladium (Pd) towards oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), iridium (Ir) and yttrium (Y) were alloyed by polyol method. Due to the low reduction potential of Y, it is hard to reduce Y ion completely by polyol method. In XPS spectra, the binding energy of the Pd is shifted to a lower value, which indicates the d-electron of Pd is filled by the electron from the Y. And other phases of Y are observed by the XPS. Among the catalysts, the $Pd_4IrY_{0.1}/C$ showed the best activity towards ORR, which indicates the metallic Y is effective for improving the catalytic activity. Thus, for further enhancing ORR activity, the novel method for complete reduction of Y is needed.
