Study on 5.8 GHz DR Duplexer using Cavity Filter (캐비티 필터를 이용한 5-8 GHz DR 듀플렉서의 연구)

  • This paper presents a design procedure and manufacturing techniques realizing of a 5.8 GHz duplexer based on cylindrical coaxial dielectric resonator. Upto Q$\times$f$\_$o/=30,000 cylindric coaxial dielectric resonator was developed control by addition of dielectric materials. This resonator shows attenuation characteristics -40 dB for transmitter and -50 dB for receiver by consisting of two sets of 4-stage cavity resonator within f$\_$o/$\pm$10 MHz bandwidth which was requirement of DSRC. Employing the measurement results, design procedure to characterize the transmission and reflection properties are presented.

  • CATV(Cable Television) 및 MATV(Master Antenna TV) 시스템용 신호분기기(Tap-Off)의 광대역설계법을 새로운 방법으로 제안한다. 먼저 결합선로형 방향성결합기의 이론을 도입하여 변성기형 방향성결합기에 적용하여 해석하였다. 제안한 해석방법의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 시뮬레이션한 결과와 실험결과를 비교 검토하였고 전송선로의 임피던스를 매칭시켜 반사계수 20dB, isolation 25dB(5∼1600MHz)을 만족하는 신호분기기(14dB)의 광대역화(5∼2150MHz)를 실현하였다.

Wide Bandwidth Circularly Polarized Aperture Coupled Microstrip Antenna using Cross-slot (십자 슬롯을 이용한 광대역 원형편파 적층 개구결합 마이크로스트립 안테나)

  • A novel single feed wide band CP stacked microstrip antenna using crossed slots has been designed, fabricated and measured. For the single rediating element the designed 10dB return loss bandwidth is 34.5%99.45~13.54 GHz), 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 18.7%(11.17~13.39GHz), and 6 dB gain bandwidth is 29%(10.21~13.64GHz). For the 2$\times$2 array designed using a sequential rotation method, the 10dB return loss bandwidth is 35.9%(9.69~13.94GHz), 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 34.6GHz (9.93~14.03GHz), and 6dB gain bandwidth is 27.4%(10.35~13.6GHz). For the fabricated 8$\times$8 array antenna, the 10dB return loss bandwidth is 27.3%(10.17~13.41GHz), 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 27.9GHz(10.1~13.4GHz), and the radiation pattern is good agreement with theory. This antenna can be used for broadband applications for communications or broadcasting in Ku band.

  • In this paper, we propose a T-shaped DGS for CPW and provide the closed-form solutions for power loss rate, and bandwidth of the DGS. The proposed T-shaped DGS structure has a range of capacitance(C) 5.5 times wider than the dumbbell-shaped DGS structure. In addition we also analyze relations between R, L, C values of the DGS equivalent circuit and total loss rate, BW, $\omega_0$ of the DGS.

  • In this paper, we collected the articles related to artificial intelligence among SCI(E) journals published by Korean authors in 'Web of Science' and conducted frequency analysis and keyword network analysis. As a result of the analysis, the artificial intelligence thesis showed an average growth of about 10% per year, but the relative ratio decreased. As time went on, we could confirm that there is a lot of practical and applied research in artificial intelligence research. Unlike the US 'National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development,' the field of research in Korea was focused on local and technical aspects. Therefore, Korea should go beyond the theoretical and technical iterations of artificial intelligence, and research should be carried out to present a comprehensive future direction.

Reflection-Type 5-bit Digital Phase Shifter with Constant Insertion Loss (균일 삽입 손실 특성을 갖는 반사형의 5-비트 디지털 위상 변위기)

  • This paper presents 12.2 GHz ~ 12.7 GHz frequency band reflection type 5-bit digital phase shifter with constant insertion loss property that was fabricated with relatively low cost's InGaAs HEMT for amplifier. The unavoidable large insertion loss difference between on and off states of HEMT, when it is designed by conventional design theory based on ideal switching device, is removed by transforming the HEMT impedances at on and off states to other proper values connecting a certain length transmission line to HEMT and then applying the conventional design theory. The fabricated 5-bit digital phase shifter shows very good insertion loss properties of less than 1.5 dB insertion loss difference and -4.5 dB ~ -6 dB insertion loss in 35 phase steps at 12.2 GHz ~ 12.7 GHz. These results verify the design method presented in this paper, which is useful to design phase shifter of constant insertion loss with non-ideal switching device.

Size effect on tensile strength of filament wound CFRP composites (필라멘트 와인딩 탄소섬유 복합재의 인장강도 크기 효과)

  • This paper presents the results of theoretical analysis and experimental test to show the size effect on the fiber strength of filament would pressure vessel. First, a series of fully scaled hoop ring tests with filament would carbon-epoxy were conducted, which exhibited a remarkable size effect on the fiber strength. Next, the failure analyses using WWLM(Weibull Weakest Link Model) and the SMFM(Sequential Multi-step Failure Model) were performed and compared to the hoop ring test data, as well as to unidirectional specimens test data from the literature. It was found that the analysis results significantly underestimated the fiber strengths compared to the test data. In this study, a modified SMFM was proposed through the modification of the length size effect. The fiber strengths from modified SMFM analysis showed good agreement with the test data.

  • 분자구조, 동력학, 그리고 분자들의 화학분응에 관한 정확한 지식은 분자들의 기능과 성질을 이해하는 데 중요한 정보를 제공한다. 2D NMR 분광법의 개발은 용액상의 분자들에 관한 이러한 의문을 해결하는 데 결정적인 역할을 하게 되었다. 그동안 아주 다양한 NMR기술들이 개발되어 왔으며 현재 그들에 대한 이용이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 그러나 성공적인 2D NMR 분광법의 적용을 위해서는 적당한 기계뿐만 아니라 실험실의 정확한 선택 및 최적 조건의 변수들을 선택해야 하며 스펙트럼의 세밀하고도 정확한 해석을 필요로 한다. 곱연산자 방식(product operator formalism)의 도입은 펄스 FT NMR 분광학을 정성, 정량적으로 이해하도록 하는 것을 가능케 했으며, 이번 해설은 연속적으로 주어지는 펄스의 이해를 위해서 필요로 하는 상의 순환(phase cycle) 및 곱연산자 방식을 이용하여 다양한 2D NMR 기술의 이해를 돕고, 분석기기로서 2D NMR 분광법이 널리 사용 및 활용되어지고자 하는 데 목적이 있다.

  • A growing interest in management and treatment for patients with temporomandibular disorder(TMD) by many health workers, including oriental medicine doctors, physical therapists as well as dentists, have been noted in South Korea. Some of these health workers claim correlation between dental occlusion, TMD, and systemic symptoms such as tinnitus, dizziness, neck pain, myalgia, low back pain, posture and many other systemic symptoms and many controversial treatments are being carried out on bases of theories and reasons with no strong scientific evidence. This article is a result of preliminary study by authors in gathering scientific data on few of these various treatment modalities for TMD using MEDLINE data, internet and tutorials given by those who are using these TMD treatment methods. The modalities that had been searched are as follows; (1) Craniosacral mechanism (2) Osteopathy (3) Myodontics (4) Chirodontics (5) Dental Distress Syndrome and Quadrant Theorem. An outline of those theories will be introduced, and the contents in detail for respective theory will be reported in the following articles.

A Study on Left-turn Queues Analysis using Queueing Theory under Permissive Left-turn Signal System (비보호좌회전 신호체계운영에 따른 좌회전 대기행렬분석에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the optimal length of left-turn lane in permissive left-turn signal system at the signalized intersection which has a left-turn bay is estimated. It is a simulation analysis using the queueing theory that estimate the length of left-turn lane. Traffic density conform to the standards of operating a permissive left-turn system of the Practical Manual Traffic Safety Facilities. And each of a left-turn arrival rate, a left-turn service rate, left-turn average queueing time, for green time average queueing vehicle, for red time average queueing vehicle and average queueing vehicle cycle is calculated. As a result of this study, we would learn how much the space should be secured at the signalized intersection which has a left-turn bay. The methodology using the queueing theory to work out the optimal length of waiting lane in the permissive left-turn signal system was presented.
