The Clinical Study on Far Diatance Spectacles for Teen-age and Twenty-age (10대와 20대의 원용안경에 관한 임상적 연구)

  • This study is examined the difference between binocular spherical diopter and astigmatism diopter, spherical diopter, astigmatism diopter, and axis of astigmatism by sex and age with reference to the prescription of refraction for a total of 257 persons, 134 persons (male:78, female: 56)of teen-age and 123 persons of twenty-age who visit optical shop. Spherical correction diopter is mainly distributed to 280 eyes between -0.25D and -4.00D. And in astigmatism correction, for right astigmatism, 48 eyes(49.48%) are prescribed astigmatism diopter for a range of C-0.25~C-0.50D, 29 eyes(29.89%) has C-0.75~C-1.00D, 65 eyes(67.01%) has with the rule astigmatism. For left astigmatism, 43 eyes(42.57%) are prescribed astigmatism diopter of C-0.25~C-0.50D and 37 eyes(36.63%) has C-0.75C~1.00D, 73 eyes(72.27%) are shown with the rule astigmatism. And also each 108 persons(47.16%) and 28 persons(25.00%) are shown no difference between binocular spherical correction diopter and binocular astigmatism correction diopter, 94 eyes(39.49%) of teen-age and 104 eyes(42.27%) of twenty-age, male 119 eyes(41.90%) and female 79 eyes(34.34%) need correcting astigmatism. In pupillary distance, 165 persons mostly have 59~64mm.

  • The active layer thickness and curing condition dependent performance of an organic thin film transistor (OTFT) with inkjetted organic semiconductor (OSC) layer is studied The best performance of the OTFT was found when the thickness of ose was ~120 nm cured at $60^{\circ}C$. The performance enhancement of the OTFT with inkjetted OSC layer was discussed by comparing the OTFT with spin-coated ose layer.

  • Trigonopsis variabilis is a strong producer of D-amino acid oxidase that can transform cephalosporin C(ceph C) to ${\alpha}$-keto-adipyl-7-aminocephalosporanic acid(AKA-7ACA). Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was applied to isolate the D-AAO gene from T. variabilis. To clone the PCR fragment, four different methods were examined using enzymatic reactions of Taq DNA polymerase, Klenow, T4 DNA polymerase I, Alkaline phosphatase Calf Intestinal, and T4 kinase. Ligation of phosphorylated blunt-end PCR fragment and dephosphorylated blunt-end of pUC18 plasmid yielded the best cloning efficiency One of recombinant E. coli transformants showed D-AAO activity against ceph C in both cell extracts and permeabilized cells.

  • In general, contrary to the CRTs with impulsive emission, liquid crystal displays have motion artifacts such as blurring. ghost image, decrease of dynamic CR(contrast ratio), and stroboscopic motion due to hold type driving method. In this paper, to improve motion picture quality of LCDs. impulsive driving method of black data insertion was applied to the OCB mode which is well known for its fast LC response time and wide viewing angle properties.   • D-Glucoses, one of the aldohexoses, was reacted with carbonyl compound such as actione or cyclohexanone. Hydroxy groups which are C-1, C-2 site and C-5, C-6 site of D-glucose molecule were substituted with isopropylidene or cyclohexylidene group and such 3-O-acyl-D-glucoses as 3-O-lauroyl-D-glucose, 3-O-myristoryl-D-glucose, 3-O-palmitoyl-D-glucose, 3-O-stearoyl-D-glucsoe and 3-O-oleoyl-D-glucose were obtained by acylation with acylchlorides having from 12 to 18 carbon atoms followed by hydrolysis.

  • It is well known that the denominator of the Dedekind sum s(c, d) divides 2 gcd(d, 3)d and that no smaller denominator independent of c can be expected. In contrast, here we prove that we usually get a smaller denominator in S(H, d), the sum of the s(c, d)'s over all the c's in a subgroup H of order n > 1 in the multiplicative group $(\mathbb{Z}/d\mathbb{Z})^*$. First, we prove that for p > 3 a prime, the sum 2S(H, p) is a rational integer of the same parity as (p-1)/2. We give an application of this result to upper bounds on relative class numbers of imaginary abelian number fields of prime conductor. Finally, we give a general result on the denominator of S(H, d) for non necessarily prime d's. We show that its denominator is a divisor of some explicit divisor of 2d gcd(d, 3).

Immune Effect of Newcastle Disease Virus DNA Vaccine with C3d as a Molecular Adjuvant

  • Newcastle disease is a serious infectious disease in the poultry industry. The commercial vaccines can only offer limited protection and some of them are expensive and need adjuvants. At present, DNA vaccines are widely used. However, the immune responses induced by DNA vaccines are too slow and low. Here, we constructed the transfer vectors with a different number of C3d as molecular adjuvants (n = 1, 2, 4, or 6), and the vectors were cloned into the optimal eukaryotic expression plasmid (pVAXI-optiF) that expressed the F gene of Newcastle disease virus (NDV), and named pVAXI-F(o)-C3d1, pVAXI -F(o)-C3d2, pVAXI-F(o)-C3d4, and pVAXI-F(o)-C3d6, respectively. Cell transfection test indicated that pVAXI-F(o)-C3d6 showed the highest expression. In vivo immunization showed that the chickens immunized with pVAXI-F(o)-C3d6 intramuscularly induced better immune responses than the chickens immunized with the other plasmids. The protective efficacy of pVAXI-F(o)-C3d6 was 80% after challenge with the highly virulent NDV strain F48E9. The results in this study showed that C3d6 could be used as a molecular adjuvant to quickly induce an effective immune response to control NDV.

Overexpression, Purification and Truncation Analysis of RmlC Protein of Mycobacterium tuberculosis

  • dTDP-rhamnose provides L-rhamnose to the bridge-like structure between mycolyl arabinogalactan and peptidoglycan of the mycobacterial cell wall. dTDP-rhamnose is composed of glucose-l-phosphate and dTTP by four enzymes encoded by rmlA-D. To determine the region(s) of RmlC protein essential for its dTDP-4-keto-6-deoxyglucose epimerase activity, we overexpressed both whole (202 amino acids) and three different truncated (N-terminal 106 or 150 or C-terminal 97 amino acids) RmlC proteins of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The RmlC enzyme activity in the soluble lysates of ${\Delta}rmlC$ E. coli strain $S{\Phi}874$ (DE3 PlysS) expressing the wild type or truncated rmlC genes was initially analyzed by three sequential reactions from dTDP-glucose to dTDP-rhamnose in the presence of purified RmlB and RmlD. All three soluble lysates containing the truncated RmlC proteins showed no enzyme activity, while that containing the wild type RmlC was active. This wild type RmlC was then overexpressed and purified. The incubation of the purified RmlC enzyme so obtained with dTDP-4-keto-6-deoxyglucose resulted in the conversion of dTDP-4-keto-rhamnose. The results show that the truncated regions of the RmlC protein are important for the RmlC enzyme activity in M. tuberculosis.

  • This study is for the development of C.B.D. residential land that is available in the changeable housing market and urban planning paradigm. The results are as follows. First, we developed a Logit model to analyzed the suitable resident for living downtown and we used several variables in the model such as their living place, the location of their works, in come according to sex and age, and whether they have a car or not. Second, in analysis for the suitable residents using the Logit model, the main demanders who live in C.B.D. or have a job there and the young and old were chosen, Third, it shows that the suitable residents prefer semi-C.B.D. because it has convenient accessibility to C.B.D. rater quickly (in ten minutes). They prefer apartment and Mixed-Use building. Fourth, there are much residential land in semi-C.B.D. (63.7%) so as to support enough land in ease of redevelopment. The land price is tremendously low compared to that of land for business or for C.B.D.

  • In this paper, we have investigated the effect of organic additives and prestressed D C. voltage on the impulse tree initiation in low density polyethylene. The five klnds of organic compounds was selected for the purpose of inhibiting tree initiation and 10 wt % of each additive was mixed in low density polyethylene. The positive or negative impulse voltage was applied after prestressed D.C. voltage was applied in order to investigate the effect of the space charge influenced on tree initiation. The lengths of tree initiation in case of belng same polarity between prestressed D.C. voltage and impulse voltage were longer than those in case of being different polarity between prestressed D.C. voltage and impulse voltage. When the polarity prestressed D.C. voltage was the different plarity of impulse voltage, the length of tree initiation increased with increasing the prestressed D.C. voltage and decreasing the rest time Among the organic additives used in this paper, the m-cresol can be shown to be the most effective inhibiter to tree initiation.
