장구형 웜 나사의 절삭 엔드밀 공구 형상에 따른 치형 정밀도 분석 (Analysis of Tooth Profile Accuracy of Enveloping Worm Thread Depending on End Mill Tool Shape)

  • Cylindrical worm reducers are generally used in various fields and forms throughout the industry, and demand is increasing due to their role as an integral part of the industry. Market trends require high-load, high-precision components, and small-sized reducers with large loads. When using a cylindrical worm reducer, a reducer designed with a reduced center distance while maintaining the same output torque results in gear wear. To overcome this difficulty, an enveloping worm gear reducer is introduced and studied. In this paper, three types of end mill tools are used to evaluate the tooth profile accuracy for each tool shape during machining of the tooth profile for a non-developed surface worm thread. The effect of the endmill shape on the accuracy of the tooth profile was analyzed by performing 3D modeling of the surrounding worm tooth profile based on the Hindley method. In this study, we analyzed tooth profile accuracy, tooth surface roughness, and tooth surface machining time, etc. Through the study, efficient machining conditions for the enveloping worm gears and the influence of parameters on the process were presented.

고에너지 볼밀법으로 제조된 Al-78Zn Powder를 이용한 스퍼기어의 압출 (Extrusion of Spur Gear Using High-Energy Ball Milled Al-78Zn Powder)

  • This paper was designed to fabricate the miniature spur gear with pitch circle of 2.25mm using extrusion process of a mechanically alloyed Al-78wt%Zn powder. The mechanical alloying of the powder particles were performed for ball milled times of 4h, 8h, 16 and 32h by the planetary ball milling. The mechanical properties of these alloyed powders, which were compacted and sintered-cylindrical preforms, were estimated using compression test. The results showed that the alloyed powder with average particle size of $10{\mu}m$ milled for 32h has the highest compressive(fractured) strength(288MPa). Extrusions of the miniature spur gear using the alloyed powder were carried out at different extrusion temperatures. Extrusion temperature of $300^{\circ}C$ provided the spur gear with the highest relative density and Vickers hardness and without any surface defects.

  • Planocentric gears 장치에서 내치차에 pin type의 치형을 사용하고 휠의 치형을 원호로 구성하였을 경우 치의 접촉특성을 탄성유역학적 윤활이론을 도입하여 해석 하였다. 윤활 특성을 개선하기 위하여 물림 위치(meshing position)에 의거한 설계 방법과 치의 모서리 부분 형상을 만곡되게 하는 치형 설계 방법을 제시하고 기존 설계에 의한 장치와 수치적으로 특성을 비교 하였다.

  • A kinematically admissible velocity field for near-net shape forging of a crown gear form is proposed. This takes into account the profiled shape of the teeth chosen by approximating these kinematically as radially straight taper teeth, (rectangular and trapezoidal teeth). The upper bound to the forging load, the relative forging pressure and the deformed configurations, with both the initially solid circular cylindrical and hollow billets, are predicted using the velocity field at varying incremental punch movements considering differing frictional factors. These and other results are given and commented upon.

풍력발전기용 유성 감속기의 하중 분포 분석 (Analysis of Load Distribution and Sharing on the Planetary Reducer for Wind Turbines)

  • Most of pitch/yaw reducers consist of several planetary geartrains. Planetary geartrains make gearboxes to be small and light, low noise and good efficiency. Most important thing in the planetary geartrain is load distribution on the gear tooth flank. In this study, the effect of output shaft bearings on the load distribution of gear tooth flank has been investigated. The commercial software was employed to compare the load distribution of two models depending on the bearing type. The spherical roller bearing(SRB) and the cylindrical roller bearing(CRB) were used as output shaft bearings in the $1^{st}$ model, and two taper roller bearings(TRB) were used in the $2^{nd}$ model. As a result, it was found that the $2^{nd}$ model. showed better performances on the load distribution of gear tooth flank, this results stated that the output shaft bearing system could be important consideration when designing reducers for wind turbine systems.

  • This paper was designed to fabricate the micro-spur gear by the LIGA and hybrid powder extrusion process. It is important to manufacture a micro-die with a high aspect ratio and determine appropriate extrusion conditions for a microforming. Ni has been used to fabricate micro-dies. LIGA process was capable to produce micro-extrusion dies with close tolerance, longer bearing length and adequate surface quality. Superplastic Al-78Zn powders have the great advantage in achieving deformation under low stresses and exhibiting good micro-formability with average strain rate raging from $10^{-3}$ to $10^{-2} s^{-1}$ and constant temperature ranging from 503 to 563K. Al-78Zn powders were compacted into a cylindrical shape ($\Phi3\times$h10mm) under compressive force of 10kN and, subsequently, the compacted powders were extruded by the hybrid powder extrusion process controlling of the temperature holing time for a improvement on formability of Al-22Zn powder. Micro-extrusion has succeeded in forming micro-gear shafts.

동력전달용 치차설계 전문가 시스템 개발연구 II (Development of Expert System for Designing Power Transmission Gears (II))

  • 본 연구에서는 동력전달용 치차설계 전문가 시스템을 구축하기 위한 일단의 연구로서 먼저 동력전달용 치차의 치차파손의 원인과 대책의 진단을 위한 전문가 시스 템을 개발하였으며, 본 논문에서는 치차의 강도를 기준으로 삼아 원통치차를 설계할 수 있는 강도 기준 치차설계 전문가 시스템을 개발한다. 즉, 전문가 시스템은 치차 설계에 필요한 지식을 체계적으로 지식 베이스에 구축하며, 이를 이용하여 새로운 설 계안을 도출해 낼수 있는 추론엔진을 구성하고, 설계광정중에 변화하는 설계의 중간결 과 등을 저장하기 위한 임시작업영역을 기본요소로 구축한다. 또한 과거의 설계예를 데이터 베이스로 구축하여 설계시에 참조 할 수 있도록 하며, 새로운 치차의 설계뿐아 니라 설계되어 있는 치차의 강도평가도 할 수 있도록 한다. 전문가 시스템에 사용자 인터페이스, 설명기능, 지식획득기능 등을 추가함으로써 치차분야에 초심자라 할지라 도 개발된 전문가 시스템과의 문답식 대화를 통하여 손쉽게 치차를 설계할 수 있도록 한다.전문가 시스템을 기술하는 프로그램 언어는 PROLOG를 사용하여 퍼스널컴퓨 상 에서 구동될 수 있도록 하며, 강도평가시 많은 수치계산이 필요한 부분은 FORTRAN언어 를 사용하여 기술한 후 PROLOG와 연결(interface)함으로써 전체 전문가 시스템을 구축 한다.

  • Helical gears are machined from blanks, which are usually prepared by forging cylindrical billets at high temperatures through buster, blocker and finisher processes. As dimensions of the blank are closer to those of the machined part, machining cost can be more reduced. Therefore, there are a lot of efforts being made to optimize the forging processes in order to produce near-net shaped blanks. In the present investigation, a rigid viscoplastic finite element technique was used to analyze a helical gear blank hot forging processes and deformation, strain and temperature distributions, forging load variations during forging were obtained. In the paper, it is discussed how these results can be utilized to optimize die design, billet dimensions and press usage.

스퍼어기어의 단조에 관한 상계해석 (Upper Bound Analysis for Forging of Spur Gears)

  • Forging of spur gears has been investigated by means of upper-bound method. The term forging means forging of spur gears with solid cylindrical billets, hollow billets with flat punch. Kinematically admissbile velocity field for forging of spur gears has been proposed in this study. The 1/2 pitch of spur gear has been divided into seven dieformation regions, wherein, an involute curve has been introduced to represent the shape of die profile. Especially neutral surface has been introduced intor forging of hollow gears from hollow billets. By using the kinematically admissible velocity field, the powder requirements and suitable conditions for forging fo spur gears were successfully calculated with numerical method. According to the analysis , the acceptable number of teeth for forging of spur gears is from 15 to 20.

웜기어의 강도평가 및 설계시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Durability Estimation and Design Systems of Worm Gears)

  • We developed the durability estimation and design systems to minimize the volume, considering the durability, efficiency, and design requirements of worm gears. That is, we consider each kind of factors affecting on durability on the basis of AGMA Standard for the cylindrical and double-enveloping worm gears. We also estimate input power on the basis of wear and durability, bending strength and deflection of worm shaft, and we developed the durability estimation and design systems of power transmission worm gears introducing the optimal design method on the personal computer to be easily used in field. Also, we developed a method which converts the design variables obtained from the optimal design method to integer values(number of worm threads, number of worm threads, number of worm wheel teeth, etc.,) to be used in real design and production. The developed durability estimation and design method can be easily applied to the design of worm gears used as power transmission devices in machineries and is expected to be used for weight minimization of worm gear unit.
