Pseudo capacitors belong to one group of super capacitors which are consisted with non carbon based electrodes. As such, conducting polymers and metal oxide materials have been employed for pseudo capacitors. Conducting polymer based pseudo capacitors have received a great attention due to their interesting features such as flexibility, low cost and ease of synthesis. Much work has been done using liquid electrolytes for those pseudo capacitors but has undergone various drawbacks. It has now been realized the use of solid polymer electrolytes as an alternative. Among them gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) are in a key place due to their high ambient temperature conductivities as well as suitable mechanical properties. In this study, composition of a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) based GPE was optimized and it was employed as the electrolyte in a pseudo capacitor having polypyrrole (PPy) electrodes. GPE was prepared using ethylene carbonate (EC), propylene carbonate (PC), sodium thiocyanate (NaSCN) and PAN as starting materials. The maximum room temperature conductivity of the GPE was $1.92{\times}10^{-3}Scm^{-1}$ for the composition 202.5 PAN : 500 EC : 500 PC : 35 NaSCN (by weight). Performance of the pseudo capacitor was investigated using Cyclic Voltammetry technique, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) technique and Continuous Charge Discharge (GCD) test. The single electrode specific capacity (Cs) was found out to be 174.31 F/g using Cyclic Voltammetry technique at the scan rate of 10 mV/s and within the potential window -1.2 V to 1.2 V. The same value obtained using EIS was about 84 F/g. The discharge capacity ($C_d$) was 69.8 F/g. The capacity fade over 1000 cycles was rather a low value of 4%. The results proved the suitability of the pseudo capacitor for improving the performance further.

In this work, the current-voltage curves for stainless steel in the ethanolamine solution containing alkyl group were measured using the conventional three electrodes of cyclic voltammetry. Stainless steel as working electrode, Ag/AgCl electrode as reference electrode and Pt wire as counter electrode were used respectively. As a result, the C-V characteristics of stainless steel were to be for an irreversible process due to the oxidation current from cyclic voltammogram, using N-ethylethanolamine and N,N-dimethylethanolamine solutions. Effective diffusivity of corrosion inhibitors was decreased with increasing concentration. It was found from SEM images of the metal that the electrolyte (specific name ?)(0.5 N) as corrosion inhibitor was added into a N, N-diethylethanolamine solution ($1.0{\times}10^{-3}M$) containing copper and nickel, the corrosion inhibiting effect was enhanced.

Recently, organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs) is widely used as one of the information display techniques. We synthesized 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)benzoxazole($Zn(HPB)_2$). We studied the luminescent properties of OLEDs using $Zn(HPB)_2$. The ionization potential(IP) and the electron affinity(EA) of $Zn(HPB)_2$ investigated using cyclic-voltammetry(C-V). The IP and EA were 6.5 eV and 3.0 eV, respectively. The PL and EL spectra of $Zn(HPB)_2$ were observed at the wavelength of 450 nm. We used $Zn(HPB)_2$ as an emitting layer and hole blocking layer. At the experiment about hole blocking effect, we inserted $Zn(HPB)_2$ between emiting material layer(EML) and cathode, and between hole transport layer(HTL) and emitting material layer(EML). We measured current density-voltage and luminance-voltage characteristics at room temperature.

There are many efforts to improve electrolytes to satisfy the requirements of a lithium rechargeable battery. We have investigated a binary solvent mixture containing the electrolyte lithium salt($LiBF_4$, $LiPF_6$), that is conductive and electrochemically stable. Ionic conductivities were measured between -5 and $80^{\circ}C$, and cyclic voltammetry between 2.5 and 4.3 V were measured by SUS or platinum electrode.

A study on the corrosion inhibition of metals is important in many industrial applications (carbon steel, copper, aluminum, SUS 304, nickel). In this study, we investigated the C-V diagrams related to the surface corrosion of metals. It was observed through the SEM that the surface corrosion state of the various metals had the corrosion potential by the scan rate and the organic inhibitor containing an amine group. We determined to measure cyclic voltammetry using the three-electrode system. The measurement of oxidation and reduction ranged from -1350mV to 1650mV. The scan rate was 50, 100, 150, and 200mV/s. It turned out that the C-V characterization of SUS 304 was irreversible process caused by the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram. After adding organic inhibitors, the adsorption film was constituted, and the passive phenomena happened. As a result, it was revealed that the inhibition effect of metal corrosion depends on the molecular interaction, and the interaction has influence on the adsorption complex.
The pure crystalline $Li_{1.1}V_{0.9}O_2$ powder has been prepared by a simple solid state reaction of $Li_2CO_3$ and $V_2O_3$ precursors under nitrogen gas containing 10 mol % hydrogen gas flow. The structure of $Li_{1.1}V_{0.9}O_2$ powder was analyzed using Xray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The stoichiometric $Li_{1.1}V_{0.9}O_2$ powder was used as anode active material for lithium secondary batteries. Its electrochemical properties were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and constant current methods using lithium foil electrode. The observed specific discharge capacity and charge capacity were 360 mAh/g and 260 mAh/g during the first cycle, respectively. In addition, the cyclic efficiency of this cell was 72.2% in the first cycle. The specific capacity of $Li_{1.1}V_{0.9}O_2$ anode rapidly declines as the current rate increases and retains only 30 % of the capacity of 0.1C rate at 1C rate. The crystallinity of the $Li_{1.1}V_{0.9}O_2$ anode decrease as discharge reaction proceeds. However, the relative intensity of main peaks was almost recovered when the cell was charged up to 1.5 V.

The propose of this study is research and improvement of LiNiO$_2$as cathode material for Lithium secondary batteries. LiNiO$_2$is prepared by heating LiOH . $H_2O$ and Ni(OH)$_2$(mole ratio 1 : 1) on various heat condition. In the result of XRD mesurement, all LiNiO$_2$prepared at this study showed hexagonal structure. In Cyclic Voltammetry, LiNiO$_2$is not conspicous about oxidation peak but oxidation curve change steeply over 3.8V and reduction peak discover at 3.6V. In discharge capacities, specific capacity is higher $O_2$than air when preliminary heated and 75$0^{\circ}C$ than $700^{\circ}C$, 80$0^{\circ}C$ when heated. Therefore, when preliminary heat at $650^{\circ}C$$O_2$and heat at 75$0^{\circ}C$ carried out, discharge property is the best.
The reaction of [$[Ni(L)]Cl_2{\cdot}2H_2O$ (L = 3,14-dimethyl-2,6,13,17-tetraazatricyclo[$14,4,0^{1.18},0^{7.12}$]docosane) with 1,1-cyclohexanediacetic acid ($H_2cda$) yields mononuclear nickel(II) complex, [$Ni(L)(Hcda^-)_2$] (1). This complex has been characterized by X-ray crystallography, electronic absorption, cyclic voltammetry and thermogravimetric analyzer. The crystal structure of 1 exhibits a distorted octahedral geometry with four nitrogen atoms of the macrocycle and two 1,1-cyclohexanediacetate ligands. It crystallizes in the triclinic system P-1 with a = 11.3918(7), b = 12.6196(8), $c=12.8700(8){\AA}$, $V=1579.9(2){\AA}^3$, Z = 2. Electronic spectrum of 1 also reveals a high-spin octahedral environment. Cyclic voltammetry of 1 undergoes one wave of a one-electron transfer corresponding to $Ni^{II}/Ni^{III}$ process. TGA curve for 1 shows three-step weight loss. The electronic spectra, electrochemical and TGA behavior of the complex are significantly affected by the nature of the axial $Hcda^-$ ligand.
Pore-size controlled porous carbons for the catalyst supports of the direct methanol fuel cell were prepared from the mesophase pitch by using the silica spheres with different sizes. Pitch solution in THF and spheres were mixed, carbonized and etched by 5 M NaOH to make porous carbon. Specific surface area of the porous carbons was $14.7{\sim}87.7m^2/g$ and average pore diameter was 50~550 nm which were dependent on the size of silica spheres. Aqueous reduction method was used to load 60 wt% PtRu on the prepared porous carbon supports. The electro-oxidation activity of the supported 60 wt% Pt-Ru catalysts was measured by cyclic voltammetry and unit cell test. For the 60 wt% Pt-Ru/porous carbon synthesized by 50 nm silica, current density value in the cyclic voltammetry test was $123mA/cm^2$ at 0.4 V and peak power density in the unit cell test were 105 and $162mW/cm^2$ under oxygen at 60 and $80^{\circ}C$, respectively.
LiMn2O4 thin fiolm cathodes for Li-ion secondary battery were fabricated by r.f. magnetron sputtering technique. As-deposited films were amorphous. A spinel structure could not be obtained LiMn2O4 films by in-situ thermal annealing. After post thermal annealing over $700^{\circ}C$ in oxygen atmosphere, LiMn2O4 films prepared above 100 W r.f. power could be crystallized into a spinel structure. The electrochemical property of the LiMn2O4 film cathodes was tested in a Li/1 M LiClO4 in PC/LiMn2O4 cell. From cyclic voltammetry at scan rate of 2mV/sec of 2.5~4.5V, LiMn2O4 electrode prepared by post annealing at 75$0^{\circ}C$ showed good initial capacity. LiMn2O4 electrode prepared by post annealing at 80$0^{\circ}C$ showed the best crycling performance.
