한국 해산 남조류 (II) (Marine Blue-green Algae in Korea (II))

  • 한국 해산 남조류(Cyanophyta) 의 목록을 작성하고 분류학적 위치를 확인하기 위하여 우리나라 전해역에서 채집된 남조류를 대상으로 형태분류학적 연구를 시도하였다. 그 결과 동정된 한국 해산 남조류는 총 3목 6과 20속 36종이며, 이 중 14종이 우리나라에서 그 생육이 처음으로 확인된 미기록종 (Chroococcus minutus ($K\"{u}$tzing) $N\"{a}$geli, Merismopedia punctata Meyen, Microcystis ichtyoblabe $K\"u$zing, Dermocarpa leibleiniae (Reinsch) Born. et Thur., Hydrocoleum confluens (Setchell et Gardner) Drouet, Lyngbya sordida (Zanard.) Gomont, Phormidium forveolarum (Mont.) Gomont, Phormidium hansgieri Schmidle, Skujaella hildebrandtii (Gomont.) de Toni, Sphaeronema lithophila (Ercegovic) Umezaki, Spirulina tenerrima $K\"u$tzing, Hormothamnion enteromorphoides Grunow, Michrochaete aeruginea Batters, Michrochaete grisea Thuret ex Born. et flah.)이었다. 본 연구에서는 간섭현미경과 위상차현미경을 이용하여 체형이 미소한 남조류의 현미사진을 작성하였다. 형태학적으로 분류된 각 종을 대상으로 세포내 함유물을 관찰하여 그 중 PHB ($poly-\SS$-hydroxybutyrate) granule의 존재 유무를 조사하였으며, Lyngbya confervoides, Lyngbya semiplena, Phormidium corium, Sirocoleum kurzii, Hormothanmnion enteromorphoides, Calothrix crustacea들은 PHB를 함유하고 있음이 확인되었다. 이 결과는 생리생화학적 특성을 기초로한 남조류의 분류체계를 정립하기 위한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

송천에 서식하는 새미(Ladislabia taczanowskii)의 생태 특성 (Ecological Characteristics of Tachanovsky's Gudgeon, Ladislabia taczanowskii in Songcheon Stream, Korea)

  • 새미(Ladislabia taczanowskii)의 생태적 특징을 연구하기 위해 2019년 3월부터 11월까지 송천에서 조사를 실시하였다. 본 종은 하천 상류역에 분포하며 하상구조는 큰돌(boulder)과 작은돌(cobble)이 풍부였으며, 수심은 31~148 cm이었고, 유속은 0.94±0.23 (0.51~1.39) m/sec로 빨랐다. 암수 성비는 1 : 0.89 이었다. 전장빈도분포도에 따른 연령은 전장 38~70 mm 미만은 만1년생, 70~100 mm은 만 2년생, 100~120 mm은 만 3년생, 120~128 mm은 만 4년생 이상으로 추정되었다. 생식가능 전장의 크기는 암컷이 70 mm, 수컷은 75 mm 이상이었다. 산란시기는 5월에서 8월까지 이었으며(수온은 15.5~20.1℃), 산란 성기는 6~7월로 추정되었다(수온은 15.8~17.2℃). 산란장은 소에서 여울이 시작되는 부분으로 모래와 자갈로 형성된 하천 바닥이었으며 폭은 약 70 cm, 길이는 약 150 cm, 수심은 20~50 cm이었다. 포란수는 평균 821 (401~1,314)개이었고 성숙란은 짙은 노란색 구형으로 직경이 1.62±0.02(1.43~2.01) mm 이었다. 먹이생물은 부착조류에 속하는 남조류(Cyanophyta), 녹조류(Chlorophyta), 규조류(Bacillariophyta), 수서곤충에 속하는 하루살이목(Ephemeroptera)과 파리목(Diptera) 등 이었다. 식성은 잡식성 이었으나 섭취된 먹이의 90% 이상은 부착조류로 식물성이었다.

금강지류 두계천에 서식하는 돌마자(Microphysogobio yaluensis)의 생태 특성 (Ecological Characteristics of Microphysogobio yaluensis in Dugye Stream of Geum River Basin, Korea)

  • 돌마자(Microphysogobio yaluensis)의 생태적 특징을 연구하기 위해 2021년 1월부터 12월까지 금강지류인 두계천에서 조사를 실시하였다. 본 종의 서식지 하상구조는 조약돌(pebble)과 자갈(gravel)이 풍부하였으며, 수심은 12~85cm로 평균 23cm로 얕았으며, 유속이 1.03±0.34(0.72~1.47)m/sec로 빨랐다. 암수 성비는 1 : 0.86이었다. 전장빈도분포도에 따른 연령은 여름(6~7월)기준으로 50mm 미만(30.4~49mm)은 만1년생, 50~69mm은 만 2년생, 70~92mm 이상은 만3년생으로 추정되었다. 생식가능 전장의 크기는 6, 7월에 암컷과 수컷 모두 50mm 이상의 만2년생에서 성적성숙이 이루어졌다. 산란시기는 7월에서 8월(산란성기 7월)이고 수온은 25.8~28.2℃이었다. 성숙란은 노란색 구형으로 직경이 0.52±0.16(0.33~0.77)mm이고 포란수는 평균 2,593(1,343~4,672)개 이었다. 돌마자의 먹이생물은 하천 여울의 돌과 자갈에 부착하여 생육하는 부착조류(Attached algae)만 확인되었다. 식성은 식물성이었으며 부착조류인 남조류(Cyanophyta), 녹조류(Chlorophyta), 규조류(Bacillariophya) 등을 섭식하였고 규조류와 녹조류에 속하는 종이 풍부하였다.

오수에 따른 식물성 Plankton의 분포조사 (A Study on the phytoplankton distribution in polluted water.)

  • To investigate the phytoplankton distribution effected by polluted water, this research was carried out at eight sampling places in Tae-jun and one sampling place in Kang-kyong during the period from May 10 to July 25, 1977. The results are as follows. 1) The range of water temperature was 21.0~36.0$\circ$C (May 10~July 25), and pH value was in the range of 3.5~11.0. 2) BOD was generally high (140~432mg/l) 3) At the places where BOD was high, dominant species were Aphanocapsa rivularis, Microcystis aeruginosa and Oscillatoria sp. belonging to Cyanophyta, Chlorella sp. belonging to Chlorophyta, Euglena sp. belonging to Euglenophyta, and Navicula exqua and Navicula sp. belonging to Chrysophyta. 4) At the places where the range of pH value was 3.5~3.8 and the range of BOD value was 134~148mg/l, observable species were Scenedesmus ellipsoideus and Pandorina morurn belonging to Chlorophyta, Navicula exqua belonging to Chrysophyta and Euglena sp. belonging to Euglenophyta. 5) At the places where the range of pH value was 9.0~11.0 and the range of BOD value was 214~220mg/l, a few observable species were Scenedesmus carinatus, Scenedesmus ellipsoideus, Scenedesmus bijuga and Scenedesmus obundance belonging to Chlorophyta.

밀양강의 식물플랑크톤상 (Flora of Phytoplankton in Milyang River)

  • This study was carried out to investigate flora of phytoplankton in Milyang River from July 1996 to April 1997. Phytoplankton were identified 206 kinds and composed of 2 var.-for., 5 forms, 35 varieties, 164 species, 70 genera, 31 families, 14 orders, 6 classes and 5 phyla. According to the seasonal variation, 131 species were founded in summer, 109 species in spring, 108 species in autumn, and 100 species in winter, respectively. Seasonal and stationary variation of standing crops were between 10 and 5.600 cells/mι. At station 7, Cyclotella meneghiniana was bloomed 5,000 cells/mι(89.7%) in winter, and Stephanodiscus hantzschii was bloomed 3,400 cells/mι(74.3%) in spring. The number of species and standing crops were increased with proceeding from upper stream to lower stream. Important species of phytoplankton were 24 species, that are 4 species of Cyanophyta (Aphanocapsa elachista, Merismopedium glaucum, Lyngbya limnetica, Oscillatoria tenuis), 12 species of Crysophyta (Melosira varians, Stephanodiscus hantzschii, Cyclotalla meneghiniana, Fragilaria construens var. venter, Navicula cryptocephala, Cymbella ventricosa, Gomphonema olivaceum), and 8 species of Chlorophyta (Chlamydomonas reinhardi, Eudorina elegans, Pandorina morum, Oocystis borgei, Scenedesmus quadricauda, Microspora crassior). According to the similarity index among the stations, it was generally defind as two water areas such as upper stream(station 1~3) and lower stream(station 4~7).

태안화력발전소 주변 해조군집의 생태 연구 (Ecological Study of the Marine Algal Community at the Coast of Taean Thermal Power Plant, Korea)

  • The community structure of benthic marine algae was investigated at Taean Thermal Power Plant and other places around Taean Peninsula, the west coast of Korea. Total of 100 species including 3 Cyanophyta, 14 Chlorophyta, 18 Phaeophyta, and 65 Rhodophyta were identified. The number of species was highest with 78 species at the Power Plant intake, followed by 61 at the discharge, 56 at Bunjeondo, and 50 at Maoe. It was noteworthy that a subtropical species Caulerpa okamurae was collected at the intake in autumn and it was the first observation in the west coast of Korea. The pattern of vertical algal distribution showed Gloiopeltis furcata occurred in the upper intertidal zone, Sargassum thunbergii and Corallina spp. in the middle and lower zone and Enteromorpha spp. in the lower middle zone. These were all dominant species except for Enteromopha spp., which was subdominant species. Other subdominant species were Chondrus ocellatus and Neorhodomela aculeata. The average diversity indices were between 0.70 and 1.20 at each area based on their dry weight. The similarity index was 0.79 between the algal flora of this study and that of 1987, indicating that the condition of the benthic environment remained unchanged since then. This area maintained its environmental quality, so the algal community remained same with similar structure. This study area seemed a suitable place for long term monitoring of the benthic environment where industrial facilities such as a power plant might affect the benthic algal community.

Seasonal Dynamics of Marine Benthic Communities in Intertidal Zone of Gwangyang Bay, Southern Coast of Korea

  • Species composition and community structure of marine benthic community were studied in the intertidal zone of Jijindo Island, Gwangyang Bay. A total of 85 species of benthic marine plants including the 5 Cyanophyta, 9 Chlorophyta, 13 Phaeophyta, 56 Rhodophyta and 2 Magnoliophyta that were listed. The community structure was represented by Gelidium divaricatum in the upper zone, Celidium divalicatum and Ulva pertusa in the middle, and Ulva pertusa, Chondria crassicaulis, Chondracanthus intermedia and Sargassum thunbergii in the lower intertidal zone. The dominant species in the rnscro-zoobenthic community were Chthamalux challengeri in the upper and middle, Littorina brevicula between the upper and middle, and Mytilus edulis and Crassostrea gigas in the middle and lower intertidal zones. The economic benthic organisms such as Undaria pinnatifida, Mytilus edulis, and Crassostrea gigas found in the lower intertidal zone were frequently disturbed due to their collection by local resident. Therefore, it is necessary to record the correct information pertaining to these cases. The species diversity indices estimated kom different sources were quite different. They were 2.22 derived from frequency, 1.67 based on coverage, 2.17 based on sum of frequency and coverage and 2.04 derived from importance value. Species diversity and number of algal species in Gwangyang Bay have noticeably decreased, compared with their previously reported status. It is estimated that their decreases were caused by changes in the marine environment, especially pertaining to the polychaete community resulting from reclamation and dredging activity undertaken for the industrial development.

  • Polyurethane foam was utilized to collect protists from the 2 ponds in Seoul National University and another pond in vicinity of Paldang Dam. The identified protists were 4 species in Cyanophyta, 2 species in Euglenophyta, 19 species in Chrysophyta, 9 species in Chlorophyta, 2 species in Ciliophora, and 3 species in Sarcodian. To test the adoptability of the sampling method for classes in junior and senior high school, frequency of the 25 protists in each observation and in each preparation were calculated. The families which were present at high frequencies were Naviculaceae. Fragilariaceae, Cymbellaceae and Coelastraceae. In an experimental application of the 40 pictures taken from the samples, students in junior classes recognized the protists by their outer morphology, internal structure. color, and colonial types, in decreasing order. Use of the collecting method and the applicability of protists for teaching biology were discussed.

회야강(울산)의 식물플랑크톤 군집구조 (The Structure of Phytoplankton Community in the Hoeya River (Ulsan))

  • This study was conducted to find the structure of phytoplankton community in the Hoeya river(Ulsan) from March 2000 to February 2001. The taxa of phytoplankton identified included 135 species, 5 divisions, 33 families and 82 genera. Among them, chrysophyta(diatoms) were 63 species(46.7%), chlorophyta(green algae) 47 species(34.8%), pyrrophyta(dinoflagellates) 13 species(9.6%), cyanophyta (cyanobacteria) 8 species(5.9%) and euglenophyta(euglenoids) 4 species(3.0%) respectively. Ecological important species is called frequently appearing species, red tide causative species, seawater species and pollution indicator. 22 species including Aulacoseira granulate were recorded frequently appearing species. 19 species including Ceratium furca were recorded as red tide causing species. And the pollution indicators were 33 species including Actinastrum hantzschii var. fluviatile. The highest standing crops were 3,103,441 cells/$\ell$ in August at the RW-1 and the lowest 1,245 cells/ $\ell$ in January at the RW-5. In the community analysis, the dominanance indices ranged from 0.34(October, RW-2) to 0.94(January, RW-1) and the diversity indices from 0.50(May, RW-2) to 2.57(September, RW-2). The saprobic indices were 2.43 in RW-1, 2.41 in RW-2, 2.375 in RW-3, 2.40 in RW-4, 2.43, in RW-5. Therefore, these areas were investigated "$\beta$-mesosaprobic". According to the similarity index among the stations, these areas were defined as residential district areas(RW-2 and RW-3), lower part of the dam (RW-1) and seawater areas(RW-4 and RW-5).

지리산 왕등재습지의 담수조류의 분포와 역할 (Role and Distribution of Freshwater Algae at the Wangdeungjae Wetland in Mt. Jiri)

  • 고산습지인 지리산 왕등재습지에서 담수조류의 분포와 역할을 조사하였다. 환경요인(평균)은 수온 $17.6^{\circ}C$, pH 6.3, 전기전도도 $24.6{\mu}S/cm$, 총질소 0.6 mg/L, 총인 0.09 mg/L 그리고 Chl-a는 $11.9{\mu}g/L$였다. 담수조류는 총 159종이 출현하였으며 녹조강 87종, 규조강 56종, 유글레나강 11종 그리고 남조강이 5종이었다. 이 중에서 녹조강의 물먼지말(desmid)이 56종으로 가장 많았고, 우점종은 규조강의 Aulacoseira distans이었다. 왕등재습지의 먹이사슬 분석을 위해 올챙이의 채식물을 분석한 결과 주로 담수조류를 섭식하였으며, 수중 우점조류인Aulacoseira distans가 최대로 존재하였다. 왕등재습지의 수중생태계에서 담수조류는 1차 생산자이자 상위 포식자의 먹이원으로서의 역할을 하는 것으로 판단된다.
