CBN 숫돌에 의한 측면연삭가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Side-Cut Grinding using the CBN Wheels)

  • One of the problems in the grinding process using the machining center(MC) with a small diametric wheels is machining error due to decrease of the quill diameter. In this thesis, side-cut grinding is performed with a vitrified bonded CBN wheel on the machining center to establish the basis of the grinding using MC. The grinding force and machining error are investigated experimentally for the change of the machining condition. It is possible to estimate the machining performance by the ratio of the setting depth of cut and actual depth of cut. In addition, the relation between normal grinding force and machining error is presented by the experimental formula.

  • In this paper, an inspection mechanism based on laser scattering has been developed for the surface evaluation of infrared cut-off filters, and optimum conditions of laser scattering are determined using the design of experiment. First of all, attributes and influence factors of laser scattering are investigated and then a laser scattering inspection mechanism is newly designed based on analyses of laser scattering parameters. Also, Taguchi method, one of experimental designs, is used for the optimum condition selection of laser scattering parameters and the optimum condition is determined in order to maximize the detection capability of surface defects. Experiments show that the proposed method is useful in a consistent and effective defect detection and can be applied to surface evaluation processes in manufacturing.

  • Laser cutting technology is one of flexible rapid manufacturing technologies with various advantageous including a high cutting speed, manufacturing of parts with a complex shape and others. The quality of the cut part and the optimum cutting conditions are highly dependent on the combination of the process parameters. The objective of this research works is to investigate the influence of process parameters, such as power of laser, cutting speed of laser and material thickness, on the surface roughness and the striation formation of the cut section for the case of cutting of CSP 1N sheet using high power Nd:YAG Laser with a continuous wave (CW). In order to find the relationship between process parameters and the surface roughness and the striation formation of the cut section, several experiments are carried out. Through the investigation of the empirical results, it has been shown that the surface roughness is highly related to the striation formation, including the frequency and angle of the striation, of the cut section. From the results of experiments, an optimum cutting speed for each cutting condition has been obtained to improve both the quality of the cut surface and the cutting efficiency.

국화 '백선'의 플러그 삽목시 삽수조건이 발근 및 절화생육에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cutting Condition on Rooting and Growth of Cut Flower in Plug Cutting of Dendranthema grandiflorum 'Iwanohakusen')

  • 본 연구는 하국용으로 가장 많이 재배되고 있는 '백선' 품종의 플러그 묘 생산에 있어서 삽수의 조건이 묘의 지상부 생육과 발근 및 절화생육에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 실시하였다. 삽수에 부착된 엽수가 많을수록 묘의 지상부 생육과 발근이 양호하였다. 삽수 길이에 따른 지상부 생육에는 큰 차이가 없었으나, 발근은 삽수 길이가 5cm 이상인 처리에서 양호하였다. 삽수의 굵기가 굵을수록 지상부의 생체중이 무거웠으며, 굵기가 5.5 mm 처리에서 형성된 뿌리수가 가장 많았다. 삽수에 부착된 엽수가 많을수록 절화장이 길었고, 절화무게도 무거웠다. 삽수의 길이가 7~11 cm 처리에서 절화장, 절화무게, 엽수, 설상화수 등 절화의 생육이 양호하였다. 삽수 굵기가 5.5 cm 처리에서 다른 처리에 비해 절화 생육이 우수하였다. 띠라서 '백선' 플러그 묘 생산시 굵기가 5.5 mm 정도의 7cm 길이의 삽수에 잎을 4장 부착하여 삽목하는 것이 묘의 생육 및 발근에 효과적이고, 정식 후 절화의 생육에도 적합하였다.

  • Cylindrical plunge grinding is widely used for final machining process of precision parts such as automobile, aircraft, measurement units. But in order to make parts which have high precision accuracy and high surface integrity, it is necessary to consider grinding characteristics due to accumulation phenomena of grinding wheel in plunge grinding process. In this study, in order to examine closely plunge grinding process, grinding power, grinding force, real depth of cut are monitored in transient state, steady state and spark out state. As the result, it is shown that grinding power and force are affected by dressing condition, depth of cut and speed ratio and that there exist threshold grinding force and it also affected by dressing condition. STD-11 합금공구강과 P-20 초경합금재의 WEDM 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Wire-Cut Electrical Discharge Machining for STD-11 Alloy Steel and P-20 Tungsten Carbide Alloy)

  • From the experimental study of Wire-Cut Electric Discharge Machining of STD-11 alloy steel and P-20 tungsten carbide, the characteristics such as hand drum form and discharge gap have been observed and evaluated for various conditions. Hand drum form can be improved when gap have been observed and evaluated for various conditions. Hand drum form can be improved when gap voltage and spark cycle become smaller, thickness become thinner, wire tension become larger and the no of cutting increases. When 60mm thickness tungsten carbide is cut in normal condition, hand drum form becomes larger due to the low conductivity machining allowance become slightly larger when peak discharge current and gap voltage become larger, or wire tension becomes smaller. Under the same condition, machining allowance of tungsten carbide is larger than alloyed steel by 1/100mm.

  • This study deals with the laser cutting of stencil for the PCB. The most important aim of this study is to determine optimal conditions which make good-qualify stencil in Nd:YAG laser cutting. We made an experiment according to various variables (power. type of mask. gas pressure, cutting speed, and pulse width) and analyzed the cutting characteristics (surface roughness, kerf width. dross) . Each variable has optimal value for good-qualify cut edge under fixed condition. And neural network after learning experimental data with a million time iteration could predict surface roughness of cut edge under arbitrary condition approximately.

정강두릅나무 절지의 저온저장과 수삽에 의한 새싹의 수확시기 조절 (Cold Storage of Cut Branch of Aralia elata cv. 'Jeongkwang' and Regulation of Optimal Harvest Stage of New Sprout by Cutting in Water)

  • This study was conducted to develop the regulating methods for the optimal harvest stage of new sprout for woody plants, and to clarify the effects of storage condition and period on the growth of new sprout formed of Aralia elata cv. 'Jeongkwang'. Japanese angelica tree were collected in the Jangheung district of Jeonnam on 20. March, 2005, and those cut branches were stored at $5{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ and 80 to 90% of the relative humidity, and were cut in water. Survival rate of cut branches for Aralia elata cv. 'Jeongkwang' was significantly increased when that was used for the cutting after the collection with no storage. And those survival rate was much more increased when that was stored at 80 to 90% of relative humidity than 40 to 50% of relative humidity. Number of new sprouts formed which were not stored immediately after the collection 3.2 to 3.4, and that were stored at cold storage room before cutting and cut on 1. June and 1. August were 5.1 to 5.3. Leaf growth of cut branches cut in water on 20. March started at ten days after cutting, and that on 1. June and 1. August at one to two days after cutting. Slow and mature sprout growth of Aralia elata cv. 'Jeongkwang' which were cut in water were different by the cold storage periods. Nineteen days were needed for the mature growth of sprout when cut in water on 20. March, and thirteen days on 1. August.

착용형 시선 추적 장치의 스포츠 분야 적용을 위한 적외선 조명 변화 최소화에 관한 연구 (A Study on an Infrared Illumination Stabilization Method in a Head Mounted Eye Tracking System for Sport Applications)

  • In this paper, a simple optical method that uses an infrared(IR) cut filter is proposed to minimize variation of eye image by external infrared(IR) sources in a video based head mounted eye tracking system that is used in the field of sports. For this, the IR cut filter is attached to a head mount of the eye tracking system, and the camera with an IR LED is located between the IR cut filter and eye. In this structure, external IR is blocked by the IR cut filter, and the IR intensity on the eye can be controlled by the IR LED. Therefore, the illumination condition of the camera to capture the eye can be stable without being affected by external IR illuminations. To verify the proposed idea, variation of the eye image and intensity of the IR with/without the IR cut filter is measured under various illumination conditions. The measured data show that the IR cut filter method can block external IR effectively, and complex pupil detection algorithms can be replaced by a simple binarized method.

가황 천연고무의 인장강도에 미치는 온도의 영향 (Temperature Effect on Tensile Strength of Filled Natural Rubber Vulcanizates)

  • Precut을 가지고 있는 고무 시편에서 서로 다른 온도에서 인장 강도의 영향을 조사하였다. 온도 조건에 따라 precut이 있는 시편과 precut이 없는 시편의 인장 강도는 서로 다른 거동을 보였다. $80^{\circ}C$에서는 임계 Precut 크기보다 더 큰 precut를 가지는 시편은 상온에서 시편보다 높은 인장 강도를 보였다. 상온에서 측정한 시편에 비하며 $80^{\circ}C$에서 측정한 시편은 잘 발달된 2차 균열들을 가지고 있는 반면, $110^{\circ}C$에서 측정한 시편의 경우 2차 균열들이 명확하게 발달하지 못하였다. 서로 다른 온도에서 인장강도의 차이는 인장시 발달된 결정화도와 균열 끝 부분에서 형성된 미세 균열 형상과 관계가 있는 것으로 보인다.
