퇴적암지대의 층리 경사에 따른 비탈면 안정성 검토 (A Study on the Stability of the Slope according to the Bedding of the Sedimentary Rocks)

  • 본 연구는 철도 신설노선 구간 중 퇴적암지대 통과구간의 절토 비탈면 안정성 평가를 위해 퇴적암 층리와 충전물질(샌드심)의 경사에 따른 절토 비탈면의 표준경사 안정성 검토를 실시하였다. 안정성 검토는 비탈면 설계 기준에 의해 건기시, 우기시, 지진시로 실시하였다. 그 결과 퇴적암 지층의 경사가 10도 이하일 경우 절토 비탈면 경사에 따른 안전율에 미치는 영향이 미미한 것으로 검토되었다. 또한 10도 초과 20도 미만의 경사에서는 1:1.0 이상, 20도 이상에서는 1:1.2 이상으로 경사완화를 실시하여야 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구는 추후 철도 및 도로건설이 퇴적암지역에서 이루어질 경우 비탈면 안정성 평가를 위한 중요한 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

포장방법과 저장온도가 신선편이 양파의 품질 및 미생물 생장에 미치는 영향 (Effect of packing type and storage temperature on microbial growth and quality of fresh-cut onions (Allium cepa cv. turbo))

  • 본 연구는 신선편이 양파의 포장방법 및 저장온도가 신선편이 양파의 선도유지 및 품질에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 저온 저장 중인 양파를 뿌리 및 줄기 부분을 절단하고 껍질을 제거하는 등 최소로 가공한 양파를 준비하였다. 최소가공 한 신선편이 양파는 polyethylene(PE, $50{\mu}m$) 필름에 밀봉 포장하거나 polyethylene/polypropylene(PE/PP, $100{\mu}m$) 필름에 진공 포장하고, $4^{\circ}C$$10^{\circ}C$에 저장하면서 21일 동안 미생물 분석, 색도, 산도, pH, 포장 내 기체변화, 관능적 품질을 조사하였다. 미생물 분석 결과 총 세균 및 대장균군의 밀도는 포장방법보다는 신선편이 양파의 저장온도에 큰 영향을 받았으며, $10^{\circ}C$보다는 $4^{\circ}C$에 저장했을 때 세균의 밀도가 낮았다. 곰팡이는 PE 필름에 밀봉 포장하여 $10^{\circ}C$에 저장했을 때 저장 13일부터 다른 처리구에 비해 현저히 높은 밀도를 보였다. 그러나 대장균은 모든 처리구에서 조사기간 동안 검출되지 않았다. 신선편이 양파의 표면 색도값($L^*$, $a^*$, $b^*$)은 포장방법이나 저장온도에 따른 차이는 없었으며, 다만 PE/PP에 진공 포장하여 $10^{\circ}C$에 저장 했을 때 저장 5일부터 17일까지 다른 처리구보다 현저히 높은 색차값(${\Delta}E$)을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 신선편이 양파의 산도는 포장방법 및 저장온도에 따른 영향은 없었으며, pH는 PE/PP 필름에 진공 포장하여 $10^{\circ}C$에 저장했을 때 저장시간이 지나면서 점차 증가하는 경향이었다. PE 필름에 신선편이 양파를 밀봉하고 포장 내 기체조성 변화를 조사한 결과 저장온도 간에 현저한 차이를 나타내었으며, $4^{\circ}C$에서 보다 $10^{\circ}C$에서 높은 $CO_2$ 농도와 낮은 $O_2$ 농도를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 신선편이 양파의 외관 품질은 저장시간이 지나면서 점차 낮게 평가되었으며, 특히 저장 13일 이후부터는 포장방법 및 저장온도에 따라 현저한 차이를 보였다(p<0.05). 신선편이 양파의 관능적 품질은 저장온도에 보다 큰 영향을 받았으며, 동일한 저장 온도에서는 PE 필름에 밀봉한 양파보다는 PE/PP 필름에 진공 포장한 신선편이 양파의 품질이 더 양호하였다. 결과를 종합해보면 신선편이 양파를 PE/PP 필름에 진공 포장하고 $4^{\circ}C$에 저장 유통하는 것이 유통기한 연장 및 품질유지에 가장 효과적인 것으로 판단된다.

Effect of therapeutic radioiodine activity on ablation response in differentiated thyroid cancer patients with cut-off serum thyroglobulin levels after 2 weeks of thyroid hormone withdrawal: a retrospective study

  • This retrospective study aimed to investigate whether there was a difference in the success rate of removal of residual thyroid tissue in patients with the same cutoff serum thyroglobulin (Tg) value-measured 2 weeks after thyroid hormone withdrawal (THW)-for different radioactive iodine (RAI) activities. We identified 132 patients with papillary thyroid cancer who were treated with total thyroidectomy and RAI therapy to evaluate the efficacy of three radioactivities of I-131: 1,110, 3,700, and 5,550 MBq. Serum Tg testing was performed 1 week before RAI treatment and 2 weeks after THW (pre-Tg); the cutoff pre-Tg level was below 10 ng/mL. Stimulated Tg levels were measured on the day of I-131 administration (off-Tg). After 6 months of treatment, we compared the groups for complete ablation, defined as no uptake on a diagnostic I-131 scan, stimulated Tg level of <1.0 ng/mL, and Tg antibody level of <100 ng/mL. Ninety-five patients (72.0%) achieved complete ablation, with 57.1% (8/14), 78.2% (68/87), and 61.3% (19/31) in the 1,110 MBq, 3,700 MBq, and 5,550 MBq groups, respectively. There was no significant difference in the complete ablation rates between the three groups. In the multivariate analysis, the off-Tg level was a significant predictor of complete ablation. RAI therapy with low radioactivity (1,110 MBq) seemed sufficient for ablation in patients with papillary thyroid cancer with a pre-Tg level below 10 ng/mL. The off-Tg level is a promising and useful predictor of complete ablation after initial RAI therapy.

Simulation of 4H-SiC MESFET for High Power and High Frequency Response

  • In this paper, we report an analytical modeling and 2-D Synopsys Sentaurus TCAD simulation of ion implanted silicon carbide MESFETs. The model has been developed to obtain the threshold voltage, drain-source current, intrinsic parameters such as, gate capacitance, drain-source resistance and transconductance considering different fabrication parameters such as ion dose, ion energy, ion range and annealing effect parameters. The model is useful in determining the ion implantation fabrication parameters from the optimization of the active implanted channel thickness for different ion doses resulting in the desired pinch off voltage needed for high drain current and high breakdown voltage. The drain current of approximately 10 A obtained from the analytical model agrees well with that of the Synopsys Sentaurus TCAD simulation and the breakdown voltage approximately 85 V obtained from the TCAD simulation agrees well with published experimental results. The gate-to-source capacitance and gate-to-drain capacitance, drain-source resistance and trans-conductance were studied to understand the device frequency response. Cut off and maximum frequencies of approximately 10 GHz and 29 GHz respectively were obtained from Sentaurus TCAD and verified by the Smith's chart.

Effect of Kefir Extract on th Growth of Serum-Free Mouse Embyro (SFME) Cells

  • The antioxidative and protective activities of kefir, low-fat dry milk (NFDM) extract and fractions on SFME cells in serum-free medium were investigated. Kefir and low-fat kefir and NFDM extract were made by solubilizing the freeze dried powder forms in deionized water, filtering through glass prefilter, 12 ㎛ and 2 ㎛ membrane, and demineraling with chelating resin. Kefir, low-fat kefir and NFDM extract were fractioned into dialyzate and retentate by dialysis with membrane tube having the molecular cut-off of 3,500 Dalton. An antioxidative activity was analyzed by the in vitro model system using a linoleic acid. In the case of kefir an antioxidative activity was detected only in the retentate of kefir extract. On the other hand NFDM showed an antioxidative activity in extract, demineralized extract, dialyzate and retentate. The retentate of kefir extract had the higher antioxidative activity than that of NFDM extract. Kefir showed the protective effect of SFME cells in serum-free medium in extract, demineralized extract and retentate, but low-fat kefir didn't. NFDM had the similar protective effect on SFME cells as extract, demineralized extract and retentate of kefir.

리튬 이차전지용 양극활물질 Li[Ni0.6Co0.2Mn0.2]O2의 소성 온도가 전기화학적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Calcinations Temperature on the Electrochemical Properties of Li[Ni0.6Co0.2Mn0.2]O2 Lithium-ion Cathode Materials)

  • $Na_2CO_3$와 [M($SO_4$)(M = Ni, Co, Mn)]을 사용함으로써, Carbonate 공침 합성법에 의해 $[Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}]CO_3$ 전구체를 합성하였다. 합성된 전구체는 공기분위기에서 $Li_2CO_3$와 혼합하여 각각, 750, 850 그리고 $950^{\circ}C$에서 소성되었고, 이로 인한 $Li[Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}]O_2$ 양극활 물질의 소성온도가 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. $Li[Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}]O_2$의 구조와 특성은 X-선 회절 분석(XRD), 시차주사현미경(SEM) 그리고 전기화학적 측정으로 분석되었는데, X-선 회절 결과 $Li[Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}]O_2$는 소성온도가 증가함에 따라서 $I_{(003)}/I_{(104)}$는 증가하고 R-factor 는 감소하였으며, 시차주사현미경 결과에서는 1차 입자의 크기가 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 특히, $950^{\circ}C$에서 24시간 동안 소성된 $Li[Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}]O_2$는 가역 용량이 $165.3mAhg^{-1}$[cut-off voltage 2.5~4.3 V, 0.1 C($17mAhg^{-1}$)] 그리고 50번째 충 방전 사이클 [cut-off voltage 2.5~4.3 V, 1 C($170mAhg^{-1}$)]까지 95.4%의 우수한 용량 보존율을 가지면서 가장 우수한 전기화학적 특성을 보여주었다.

The Use of Finite Element Method to Predict the Hot Shear-Welding Process of Two Aluminum Plates

  • Hot shear-welding is a process of bonding two plates together by using shearing stress in a controlled manner. This study dealt with the hot shear-welding process of two aluminum plates. These two plates were piles up in the shear-welding mold. Due to the shearing stress, these two plates were cut off longitudinally, and meantime they were welded together. During this process the control of the surplus material flow is very important, and it can be realized by designing the overlapping length and the shape of the cavity. The commercial software Deform-3D was employed to predict the effect of these two factors. The overlapping length and the shape of the cavity that presents the optimum design was then developed to get a good shear-welding process.

새로운 고주파용 MOS 트랜지스터의 시작에 관한 연구 (Study on Experimental Fabrication of a New MOS Transistor for High Speed Device)

  • A new method of realizing the field effect transistor with a sub-.mu. channel width is described. The sub-.mu. channel width is made possible by etching grooves into n$^{+}$ pn$^{[-10]}$ n$^{[-10]}$ structure and using p region at the wall for the channel region of the Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor transistor (MOST), or by diffusing two different types of impurities through the same diffusion mask and using p region at the surface for the channel region of MOST. When the drain voltage is increased at the pn$^{[-10]}$ drainjunction the depletion layer extends into the n$^{[-10]}$ region instead of into p region; this is also the secret of success to realize the sub-.mu. channel width. As the result of the experimental fabrication, a microwave MOST was obtained. The cut-off frequency was calculated to be 15.4 GHz by Linvill's power equation using the measured capacitances and transconductance.

모우드 파라미터 산출 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Modal Parameter Estimation Algorithm)

  • A new curve fitting algorithm based on modal analysis is introduced for extracting the modal parameters from the measured frequency responses. To compensate the effect of cut-off frequency ranges the transfer function including residual mass and residual flexibility is employed. Model parameters are computed from the newly defined form of transfer function in a simple way. The accuracy of this algorithm is proved by applying to the 3 degrees of freedom model and vibration of cantilever beam.

  • The effect of the changes in parameter angles(precone, droop, sweep) on the lead-lag damping was focused on. Experiment was made with hingeless 4-blade rotors and NACA 0012 airfoil. For the measurement of the rotating natural frequencies and lead-lag damping, non-rotating swash plate was oscillated at the regressing lag mode frequency and the data were acquired after the excitation was cut off. Analysis was made using a finite element formulation based on Hamilton's principle. The main blade is assumed as elastic beams. Quasi-steady strip theory is used to obtain aerodynamic forces, and non-circulatory forces are also included.
