The Impact of Prices and Distribution on Customer Satisfaction in the Pharmaceutical Industry of Kazakhstan

  • Purpose: This article aims to investigate the influence of pricing and distribution on the level of satisfaction and purchase decisions among consumers of pharmaceutical products in Kazakhstan. Research design, data, and methodology: A mixed-methods research design was utilized, incorporating primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through a survey administered to customers across various pharmacy types, with 100 valid responses analyzed. Secondary data involved an extensive review of existing literature and analysis of national statistics concerning the pharmaceutical market trends from 2008 to 2022. Results: The results reveal a complex relationship between price perceptions and customer satisfaction. A significant segment of the population views current drug prices as high, which affects their satisfaction levels and purchase decisions. The study also highlights the importance of service quality in enhancing customer satisfaction, suggesting that service improvements could mitigate some of the negative perceptions of pricing. Conclusions: This research contributes to the limited but growing body of knowledge on the impact of pricing strategies on consumer satisfaction in the pharmaceutical sectors of developing countries like Kazakhstan. Focusing on economic and behavioral aspects, this study provides a more holistic understanding of the factors driving consumer satisfaction and purchase behaviors in this critical sector.

  • 기존의 고객만족지수 산출방법은 크게 나누어 단일문항평가방법, 복수문항산술평균방법, 항목별 가중평균방법 등이 있고, 항목별 가중평균방법에서 가중치의 산정방법에 따라 여러 가지의 모형이 있고, 이들에 대한 장단점이 있다. 본 논문에서 적용한 고객만족도 모형은 단일문항평가방법과 항목별 가중평균방법을 병용하였고, 지금까지의 연구와는 다르게 고객만족도점수 산정 방법에 역점을 두었다. 모집단에서 표본을 추출하여 여러 요소와 항목에 대한 질문을 통하여 얻은 결과를 지수화하는 작업으로 산출되는 고객만족도 지수를 접하는 사람들은 100점 만점의 점수라고 생각하여 판단하게 되고, 특히 설문지의 응답자가 생각하는 100점 만점의 점수와는 큰 괴리가 있다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 연구에서 고객만족도 점수 모형을 개발하고 과학기술 콘텐츠 제공 웹 사이트의 고객만족도 점수를 산출하였다.

중국 산동성내 한식당 이용 중국인의 서비스품질속성에 대한 인식이 고객 만족도, 재방문 의도 및 추천 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Chinese Perceptions of Quality Attributes on Customer Satisfaction, Revisit Intention and Recommendation Intention for Korean Restaurants in Shandong, China)

  • This study was conducted to survey the perception and preferences of customers that have dined at Korean restaurants in China and investigate the importance and performance level of quality attributes, customer satisfaction, revisit intention and recommendation intention. The survey was conducted January 31~March 1, 2016 in China. The 293 questionnaires (97.7%) were analyzed using SPSS(Ver. 23.0) and AMOS(Ver. 21.0). Results of this study are as follow: Customers that dined at a Korean restaurant in China were composed of 157 women and 136 men. Regarding the reason for preferring Korean cuisine, taste, hygiene and nutritional value of Korean food were the most significant quality factors. Regarding complaints about Korean food, Chinese people placed much emphasis on freshness of ingredients when dining out, based on the majority of complaints about ingredients that were not fresh. The main reason for leftover food were personal eating habits and that of customers revisiting food taste and nutrition. Path model among customer satisfaction, revisit intention and recommendation intention revealed the factor of menus and attributes of menu items regarding customer's age that had an impact on customers' satisfaction, and association with customers' satisfaction, revisit intention and recommendation intention as well.

일식레스토랑 메뉴품질에 대한 중요도와 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Importance and Satisfaction for the Menu Quality of Japanese Restaurant)

  • This study aimed to analyze the impact of importance and fulfillment(satisfaction) factors of menu quality on customers' intent of revisit of Japanese restaurants, so that it could provide information helpful to build up detailed marketing strategy and present considerations for management's higher sales amount and more efficient business results as well. Importance on menu quality scored higher level than fulfillment on the whole in Japanese restaurants. Notably, in regard to attributes of menu quality, it was found that respondents put higher stress on flavor, nutrition, cleanliness and freshness than anything else. In terms of IPA analysis on Japanese cuisine menu quality, it was noteworthy that the items with high importance but low fulfillment included menu price as an attribute for menu quality, although it was not shown in menu-specific items. In the survey on the associations between fulfillment(customer satisfaction) and intent of revisit, it was found that factors of customer satisfaction included 'trimness of dishes', 'information', 'appropriateness' and 'economic affordable' Out of these factors, it was noted that both 'trimness' and 'economic affordable' had significant effects on customer satisfaction at the significance level ranging from p<0.05 to p<0.001.

  • New high-speed rail service, the Korea Train Express(KTX), has been beginning service in Korea. We measured the service quality of the Korea Train Express and comparatively analyzed the service quality of domestic flight and express buses which are means of long distance transportation. Furthermore, by using the Kano model, the perception level of the service of customers is not only segmented in groups but also switching barriers are derived. As a result, the customers by group have a difference in the level of their perception. While in both high-speed bullet train service and flights dimensions significantly affect the customer satisfaction and retention excluding a responsiveness dimension, in the Train Express four dimensions(Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Tangibles) with the exception of Empathy which significantly affect the customer satisfaction and retention.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of selection attributes of restaurants specialized in Yaksun food on purchase intentions and satisfaction level of consumers as well as mediating effects of value awareness of Yaksun food on relationships among the variables. The subjects in this study were 200 female adults in Seoul and Busan. The findings of the study were as follows: First, purchase intentions for Yaksun food were positively influenced by food quality, human service, and health effect among selection attributes for restaurants specialized in Yaksun food. Second, customer satisfaction with Yaksun food was positively affected by food quality and human service among selection attributes. Third, purchase intention for Yaksun food and customer satisfaction were positively influenced awareness of functional value, emotional value and economic value of Yaksun food. Fourth, awareness of emotional and economic value of Yaksun food had mediating effects on relationships between selection attributes for restaurants specialized in Yaksun food and purchase intentions, and awareness of functional value of Yaksun food had mediating effects on relationships between the selection attributes of restaurants specialized in Yaksun food and customer satisfaction. The findings of the study illustrate that selection attributes for restaurants specialized in Yaksun food and value awareness have an impact on purchase intentions and customer satisfaction, and value awareness of Yaksun foods has mediating effects on the relationship of selection attributes with purchase intentions and customer satisfaction.

충북지역 사업체 급식소의 운영형태에 따른 고객 만족도 비교 (Comparison of Customer Satisfaction by Operation Types of Business Foodservice in Chungbuk Province)

  • In this study, the current status of the business foodservice industry, evaluation of leftover food and customer satisfaction with foodservice at direct operation and consignment foodservice businesses in Chungbuk were examined. This study has managerial implications in terms of improving the quality and effectiveness of the business operation of the foodservice industry. The sample size of this study included 800 customers who use foodservices provided by 11 selected businesses including 6 direct operation and 5 consignment foodservice businesses. From these 800 customers, a total of 692 were used (direct operation foodservice (n=361) and consignment foodservice (n=331) businesses). The results were as follows; First, as for the main reasons for using the employee restaurants in types of direct operation and consignment foodservice business, 'the close location' had the high percentage. Approximately 41% of respondents were not satisfied with the foodservice in the employee restaurants. Second, leftover food from consignment foodservices was higher than that for direct operation foodservices. Third, there were significant differences in customer satisfaction with five areas of foodservice between the two types of food service businesses: food, sanitation, feeding environment, mealing process and information and service. Customer satisfaction in the direct operation foodservice was higher than that of the consignment foodservice. In terms of the satisfaction level of foodservices, mealing process was the highest, followed by sanitation, food, and information and service in the direct operation and consignment foodservice businesses. Overall, satisfaction with the business foodservice was affected by the customers' satisfaction in five areas of foodservices (e.g., food, sanitation, feeding environment, mealing process, information and service). Especially, 'food' and 'information and service' were important areas for determining overall customer satisfaction with foodservice. In addition, the overall satisfaction was negatively correlated with the quantity of leftover food in the direct operation and consignment foodservice business.

The Effect of Bakery Customers Product and Service Quality Factors on Value Perception, Customer Satisfaction and Behavioral Intentions: Focused on Famous Bakery Customers

  • Purpose: Recently, information on 'Delicious Restaurants (Mat-zip)' and 'Famous Bakeries' can be obtained through various media such as TV, Internet search, and SNS, and the culture of finding and sharing them has become a trend. Since PZB's SERVQUAL, there have been many studies measuring service quality, leading to hotels, restaurants and coffee shops. These studies of service quality include product quality in the service quality dimension. Hotels, restaurants, and coffee shops are provided with intangible services while customers visit and stay, but 'Delicious Restaurants (Mat-zip)' and 'Famous Bakeries' often stop by to buy products and return home. Therefore, the study on the effect of quality on customer behavior on 'Delicious Restaurants (Mat-zip)' should consider product quality separately. In this study, we want to study how each quality element affects the perceived value and response of customers by separating product quality and service quality. Research design, data, and methodology: This study tested the structural model of how the quality of products and services of famous bakeries affect customers' perceived value and response. As the quality factors, products, tangible services, and employee services were adopted, and perceived values adopted utilitarian and hedonic values, and customer responses adopted customer satisfaction and behavior intention. For this study, 203 survey data with experience using famous bakeries were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. Result: The research results are as follows. First, product quality positively influenced utilitarian value, hedonic value, and customer satisfaction, tangible service quality positively influenced utilitarian value, and employee service quality positively influenced hedonic value. Second, utilitarian value had a positive effect on behavioral intention, and hedonic value had a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Conclusions: In a famous bakery, it is basic that product quality should be given priority, and for customer satisfaction, employee service quality is half as important. In addition, for Behavior Intension (revisit by the customer), in addition to product quality, the quality of tangible services and employee services should be maintained at a quarter level.

관광산업이벤트에 관한 서비스품질이 고객만족도와 고객충성도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Study on the Influence of Service of Service Quality on Customer Loyalty of the Tourist Industry Event)

  • 본 연구는 국내 관광산업 이벤트를 이용한 고객들을 대상으로 서비스품질이 고객만족과 고객충성도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 서비스품질과 고객만족도와의 영향관계에서 종속변수인 고객만족도에 대한 설명력($R^2$)은47.1%로 나타났고, 서비스품질과 고객충성도의 영향관계에서 종속변수인 고객충성도에 대한 설명력($R^2$)은 36.6%로 나타났으며, 이 회귀식의 통계적 유의성을 검정하기 위한 통계량인 통계량 값은 157.599로 나타났다. 따라서, 서비스품질이 고객충성도에 미치는 영향에 대한 회귀식은 통계적으로 유의성이 있는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 서비스 품질의 각 요인들에 대한 유의성을 판단하기 위한 값의 유의도에 의해 고객충성도에 영향을 미치는 서비스품질 변수로는 확신공감성(t=4.056, p= .000), 서비스품질(t=5.359, p= .000)이 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 고객만족도가 고객충성도에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 고객만족도(t=12.554, p= .000)가 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 서비스품질은 고객만족과 고객충성도에 영향을 미친다는 가설은 채택되었다. 이러한 결과로 관광이벤트의 서비스 품질과 서비스 품질의 하위 요소인 유형성, 신뢰성, 반응성, 확신공감성, 이벤트 품질이 높을수록 고객 만족도가 높아짐을 알 수 있다.

  • Purpose - This study examines the effects of purchasing factors of consumers based on customer satisfaction and repurchasing intention buying through Internet shopping malls. The subject of this study are Chinese residents who have lived over a year in Korea.     Customer satisfaction factors of internet shopping malls have meaningful effect to customer repurchase intention. Measurements developed 4~5 items to each factor and questionnaires were made. The survey was conducted on 1,000 Chinese people. Out of 292 surveys, 9 were excluded which responded nothing or were unfilled. Finally 283 surveys were used in empirical analysis with SPSS 22.0 statistical program. Hypotheses were verified by structural equation modeling. Results - The following conclusions are shown in the empirical study. First, the service and promotion factors of internet shopping mall have effects on customer satisfaction. Second, customer (Chinese people who live in Korea) satisfaction have effects on repurchase intention. Third, the products value and price level of internet shopping mall have strong effects on repurchasing intention. Conclusions - There are suggestions that Chinese customers satisfied with Korean internet shopping malls might increase their royalty to the shopping malls as possibility of repurchase arises. This study has differentiating points with preceding researches that subjected residents in Korea. But there are limitations that this study also used purchasing factors used in preceding studies. Also this study has limitations, such as generalization in global market circumstances because this study subjected only Chinese people and not global customers. Therefore, further study executed complementary with those limitations would be an interesting study.
