In order to investigate the Post-operative changes in scoliotic spine according to selection of fusion level a mathematical finite element model of King-Moe type II scoliotics spine system was developed. By utilizing this finite element scoliosis model surgical correction simulation procedures of pedicle fixation and derotation were simulated. In consequence of the calculation by changing the fusion Levels, postoperative changes like Cobb angle, apical vertebrae axial rotation (AVAR), thoracic kyphosis, and rib hump were Qualitatively analyzed. In the analysis of operative kinematics, the decrease or Cobb angle was most prominent in distraction than in deroation. Applying the rod derotation only was not effective in decrease of Cobb angle but just caused increase of At AR and rib hump. From the operative simulation, co-action or distraction and translation during rod insertion has major impact on Cobb angle decrease and maintenance of kyphosis. With rod rotation, Cobb angle decrease was obtained, but combined increase of AVAR and rib hump was simulation observed as well. The case of most extended instrumentation range with 60o rod rotation produced double decrease of Cobb angle, but the increase of rib hump and AYAR occurred corresponding1y. The optimum selection of fusion level was proved as one level less than inflection position of the thoracic spine curvature.

Ftheta Lens, whose image height is proportional to its field view angle, is one of the most important parts in Laser Scanning Unit(LSU). In this paper $f{\theta}$ lens design, mold production and modification method of lens design and mold are introduced. Lens design was carried out with Zemax and Special Toric surfaces were applied for lens surfaces to minimize distortion both in main and sub scanning directions. And a high precision machine with 1nm resolution was used to fabricate lens mold cores. After injection the lens was evaluated and the difference from design was examined. This difference was compensated by modifying lens design and new lens mold cores were made according to modified lens design to obtain the quality of original design.
A high performance afocal zoom telescope has been designed to operate in the 7.6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 10.3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ waveband for thermal imaging system. This IR zoom telescope is characterized by using of two movable optical element groups, variator and compensator, with mechanically compensated method and the positioning of these groups is controlled by means of a computerized program. The optical performance over the entire 4:1 zoom range and $\pm$2.31~$\pm$9.36 degrees field of view is near diffraction limit while maintaining a constant F-number. The all refracting surfaces of this system except only one aspheric surface are spherical curvature and the material for the optical elements is selected Ge and ZnSe which is used for correction of chromatic aberration.

Purpose: Grave's disease is an autoimmune disease with chronic and systemic features. It affects the orbital fat and muscle bringing about defect in extrinsic eye motility, diplopia, optic nerve defect and lid retraction. In patients with lagopthalmos and resulting facial deformity, treatment can be done by rectus muscle recession or filling with various material. Autogenous auricular cartilage graft is often used and synthetic material such as synthetic acellular dermis, polyethylene meshs are also used for filling of the depressed area. Nevertheless, autogenous auricular cartilage grafts are difficult to utilize and synthetic materials sometimes result in protrusion or infection. Therefore, hard palate mucosa was considered as an alternative. We report two cases of patients with lower eyelid retraction corrected with autogenous hard palate mucosa. Methods: We performed this operation in two patients of Graves' ophthalmopathy. The capsulopalpebral fascia was incised and elevated through an incision on the conjunctiva. Then, the harvested hard palate mucosa was sutured to the inferior border of the tarsus and covered with the conjunctiva. Results: The lower eyelid retraction was corrected successfully. No hypertrophy or deformation of the transplanted hard palate mucosa was noted 6 months after the surgery. Conclusions: From the results above, we may conclude that the hard palate mucosa serves as an ideal spacer for the curvature and the inner lining in lower lid retraction. Hard palate mucosa is as sturdy as the autogenous cartilage but is much easier to utilize. It can be also used for lid retraction after lower lid aesthetic surgeries or traumas.

A curvilinear non-hydrostatic free surface model is developed to investigate nonlinear wave interactions in a circular channel. The proposed model solves the unsteady Navier-Stokes equations in a three-dimensional domain with a pressure correction method, which is one of fractional step methods. A hybrid staggered-grid layout in the vertical direction is implemented, which renders relatively simple resulting pressure equation as well as free surface closure. Numerical accuracy with respect to wave nonlinearity is tested against the fifth-order Stokes solution in a two-dimensional numerical wave tank. Numerical applications center on the evolution of nonlinear waves including diffraction and reflection affected by the curvature of side wall in a circular channel comparing with linear waves. Except for a highly nonlinear bichrmatic wave, the model's results are in good agreement with superimposed analytical solution that neglects nonlinear effects. Through the numerical simulation of the highly nonlinear bichramatic wave, the model shows its capability to investigate the evolution of nonlinear wave groups in a circular channel.
In this paper, we implement a wheeled mobile robot that accurately and autonomously finds the optimal route from the starting point to the destination point based on computer vision in a complex indoor environment. We get a number of waypoints from the starting point to get the best route to the target through deep reinforcement learning. However, in the case of autonomous driving, the majority of cases do not reach their destination accurately due to external factors such as surface curvature and foreign objects. Therefore, we propose an algorithm to deepen the waypoints and destinations included in the planned route and then correct the route through the waypoint recognition while driving to reach the planned destination. We built an autonomous wheeled mobile robot controlled by Arduino and equipped with Raspberry Pi and Pycamera and tested the planned route in the indoor environment using the proposed algorithm through real-time linkage with the server in the OSX environment.
Study Design: Single-center, observational, case-control study. Purpose: Comparison and analysis of the metabolic and coagulative profiles in patients with idiopathic scoliosis, patients with congenital scoliosis, and healthy controls. Overview of Literature: Serum melatonin deficiency has been a controversial topic in the etiopathogenesis of scoliosis. Low bone mineral density, low vitamin D3 levels, and high parathyroid hormone levels are common metabolic abnormalities associated with scoliosis that may be responsible for its pathogenesis. In addition to metabolic defects, several studies have shown coagulation defects that either persist from the preoperative period or occur during surgery and usually lead to more than the expected amount of blood loss in patients undergoing deformity correction for scoliosis. Methods: The study population (n=73) was classified into those having congenital scoliosis (n=31), those with idiopathic scoliosis (n=30), and healthy controls (n=12). After detailed clinicoradiological evaluation of all the subjects, 10-mL blood samples were collected, measured, and analyzed for various metabolic and coagulation parameters. Results: The mean serum melatonin levels in patients with idiopathic scoliosis were significantly lower than those in the healthy controls. Although the mean serum melatonin level in the congenital group was also low, the difference was not statistically significant. Serum alkaline phosphatase and parathyroid hormone levels were higher in the scoliosis groups, whereas the vitamin D level was lower. No differences were observed in the coagulation profiles of the different groups. Conclusions: Low serum melatonin levels associated with scoliosis can be a cause or an effect of scoliosis. Moreover, low bone mineral density, high bone turn over, and negative calcium balance appear to play an important role in the progression, if not the onset, of the deformity.

This study studied scoliosis, one of the most common modern diseases caused by lifestyle patterns of office workers sitting in front of computers all day and modern people who use smart phones frequently. Scoliosis is a typical complication that takes more than 80% of the nation's total population at least once. X-ray are used to test for these complications. X-ray, a non-destructive testing method that allows scoliosis to be easily performed and filmed in various areas such as the chest, abdomen and bone without contrast agents or other instruments. We uses NI DAQ to miniaturize digital X-ray imaging devices and image intensifier in self-shielding housing with Vision Assistant for drawing lines to the top and the bottom of the spine to acquire angles, i.e. curvature in real-time. In this way, the research was conducted to see scoliosis patients and their condition easily and to help rapid treatment for solving the problem of posture correction in modern people.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to observe the effect of Bong Chuna manual therapy(BCMT) and acupuncture on the Turtle Neck Syndrome(TNS) by the changes of radiological findings and symptoms. Methods : Total twenty-eight patients diagnosed as TNS were evaluated. Twenty patients in experimental group were treated by the combination of BCMT and acupuncture, eight patients in control group were treated by acupuncture only. We measured VAS(Visual analogue scale) as pain intensity and Neck Pain and Disability Scale(NDI) at pre- and post-treatment. Also the four line Cobb's method and Jochumsen method were assessed for evaluating the radiographical changes, additionally we used 'two line method'. Results : VAS score showed statistically significant reduction in pain intensity in both experimental group and control group after 8 weeks treatment, $-44.05{\pm}14.91$ vs $-23.75{\pm}14.08$ respectively. Also NDI score presented $-11.40{\pm}8.63$ reduction in experimental group, and it was significant statistically, however not in control group, $-8.63{\pm}9.84$ reduction after 8weeks treatment. In radiological findings, the four line Cobb's method, Jochumsen method and two line method were reduced after 8weeks treatment, $-9.30{\pm}10.33$, $-0.65{\pm}1.72$ and $-14.35{\pm}5.68$ in experimental group respectively, $-0.75{\pm}1.91$, $-0.25{\pm}0.71$ and $0.38{\pm}2.20$ in control group respectively. However they were statistical significance only in the four line Cobb's method and two line method in both group. Conclusions : Combination treatment of CMT and acupuncture showed better effect on pain reduction, VAS score and the correction of neck anteversion than acupuncture only in TNS. Two line method seems valuable for evaluating the improvement of radiographical changes in TNS.

Revetments help protect levee slopes from erosion. If the design of the revetment is not appropriate, the levee may collapse as a result of scouring due to the strong flow velocity and tractive force. Therefore, when designing a revetment, it is very important to calculate the representative velocity. However, the average velocity and depth calculated by 1-D varied flow analysis are generally applied to the design, which do not reflect the increase in velocity caused by the free and force vortex. Therefore, it is necessary to correct the representative velocity in order to ensure the stability of the revetment in a meandering channel. In this study, the applicability of the method of calculating the representative velocity considering the curve and scour was studied (by comparing it with) the average and maximum velocities determined by numerical simulation. The representative velocity corrected for the effect of the curve and scour and the maximum velocity calculated by the numerical simulation were found to match quite well. In addition, the riprap size of the gabion in the meandering and straight channels were compared by applying them to the conventional design formulas. In the future, it is necessary to perform additional numerical simulations for various rivers with different characteristics, in order to propose a method of designing a suitable revetment for Korean characteristics. At this time, the results of this study are expected to be able to be used as basic data.
