  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the sequence of software education content elements of the 2015 revised national curriculum in terms of basic subjects that preliminary informatics teachers should complete in the college, presented in ministry of education notification no. 2017-126, in order to implement and establish more systematic and interrelated software education. Expert reviews were conducted to verify the validity of the sequence analysis and the results were presented in a structured table, which can be used as a reference for teachers in the field to consider the sequence of educational content when designing curricula and lessons. In addition, learning concepts, which are the key words of the achievement criteria associated with the content elements, are analyzed in order to explore the hierarchy of software education contents in each sequence. Based on this, the study suggests how to link software education between school levels.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify elementary school teachers' needs for access points when searching for picture books to be used as teaching media, and suggest ways to improve DLS(Digital Library System) in school libraries. To achieve this purpose, the study examined the access points provided by OPAC(Online Public Access Catalog) systems in seven domestic and foreign libraries. In addition, it conducted an online survey with elementary school teachers, and a total of 220 responses were finally analyzed. It was found that the most needed access points were topic, grade/age, content, subject/chapter, and cross-curricula learning topics, etc. Based on the results, this study suggests providing the most needed access points in DLS, developing controlled vocabulary tools, and improving system functions or the interface to enhance accessibility to picture books.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore which performance verbs are used in the achievement standards of the Korean mathematics curriculum and how to improve them. So, first, we analyzed whether there were differences in the performance verbs included in the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum achievement standards by school level. In addition, it was analyzed whether there were differences in the performance verbs included in the mathematics curriculum in Korea and foreign countries. As a result of the analysis, both the frequency and the type of performance verbs included in the achievement standards of the Korean mathematics curriculum decreased as the school level increased. Also, performative verbs such as 'understand' and 'know' were excessively used. Similar tendencies were seen in foreign mathematics curricula, but the frequency and the type of performance verbs were higher than those in Korea, and various performance verbs were used. As a result of the study, it is suggested that performance verbs included in achievement standards need to be improved to improve middle and high school mathematics classes.

  • Changes in social, economical, and cultural environments affect the meal practices of children. The transmission of traditional Korean food culture is very important because it presents not only a well-balanced diet but also contributes to shaping identity. The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary school students' present meal practices and views, as well as demands on traditional food culture education to reflect future educational plans. Half of the students ate breakfast everyday and 72% ate a traditional Korean style breakfast. About 38% of the students participated 2-4 times per week in meal preparation and 34% participated in clean-up after the meal once a day. Although 6th graders had greater skills in basic cooking, they tended to be more passive upon applying their skills in daily meal practice. For traditional food culture education, 89% of the experienced and 86.2% of the inexperienced groups agreed on the necessity of traditional food culture education. Students attained traditional food culture knowledge through Silgwa, practical coursework within the curriculum, and by teachers leading classes. They were also educated by parents, mass media, and books outside of school. The preferred methods of class teaching were lecture and experiential learning. The preferred subjects to learn were 'cooking classes based on taste development', 'learning food ingredients through vegetable growing', 'traditional Korean food manners', and 'traditional Korean food culture and seasonal foods' as well as nutritional education. Fifth graders had more positive attitudes towards meal practices and traditional food culture education. Traditional Korean food culture and nutrition education should be integrated and developed into regular subject curricula to improve children's meal practice and inheritance of traditional food culture.

  • This paper is to inquiry into the conceptual model of religious education in school curriculum focused on 7th revised curriculum, subject matter and teacher training system. We have to consider the related variables for the operation of school curriculum: student, school, teacher. In school curricula of Korea, religious education can be practiced as a elective course of subject, discretion activity and special activity, latent curriculum etc. And also it should be considered student's right of option and autonomy of private school, because at least those are the important variables effect upon the religious education in school curriculum. Now I'd like to abstract results of this paper as followed. First, it should be considered student's right of option for religious education in private school curriculum. But at this case, also under the name of education it should be justified precondition of purpose, content, approach method. If not, it easy to access to pejorative meaning as a religious indoctrination. Second, in case of conflict between student and school, I think that a proper method is to adjust the related variables. Third, if the purpose of religious education in school based on religiosity, it can be cover the understanding of religious culture, affectionate domain of religiosity, behavioral religiosity. Finally, in order to accomplish such an conceptual model of religious education in school, it should be set a condition for teacher training system, subject matter etc.

  • This study evaluates the AI digital competencies of teachers and presents a step-by-step framework for teacher's AI digital competencies that can be utilized in training. To do this, AI digital competencies were analyzed from the perspective of utilization and disposition, linked with the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) perspective. Then, as a precedent for step-by-step teacher AI digital competencies, the 3-step competency of the British Education and Training Foundation and the UNESCO ICT Teacher Competency Framework were presented. In this study, teacher's AI digital competencies were divided into three stages: entry, adaptation, and leadership, considering precedent research and domestic conditions. The initial entry stage passed the validity test in the second round of the Delphi survey, and the other two stages passed in the first round. The final entry stage is described as a stage where teachers understand AI digital but have difficulty implementing it, the adaptation stage is a level applied to standard curricula, and the leadership stage is a level where AI digital is applied in advanced courses and teachers serve as models for others. Through the overall AI digital competencies presented in this study, detailed competency development is possible, and it can be used as a reference material for developing evaluation items.

  • The downsizing of schools is accelerating due to a rapid decline in the school-age population, and as the crisis over regional and school disappearance increases, the need for smaller schools to respond to future educational needs is increasing. Through flexible curricula and digital/artificial intelligence-based classroom teaching improvements, students' satisfaction with school life, student creativity and character development, improved academic achievement, and strengthened cooperative communication capabilities will be observed, and teachers' teaching and learning methods will change. Educational effects such as these are important, and transforming school facilities into future-oriented spaces, including school space innovation, is required to accomplish them. This study examined the future of education systems in small schools, focusing on analyzing the educational effects and awareness of the sustainability of spatial innovation, in terms of school space changes, school education correlation, and smart environment, to develop innovation projects in small schools. A desirable direction for implementation is presented.
