Estimation of Rail Joint Shape Using Signals Available in a MagLev Train (자기부상열차 계측 신호를 이용한 궤도 조인트 부 형상 추정)

  • A maglev train records a host of physical variables such as gaps, voltages and currents for suspension control and monitoring purposes. These data available from a maglev contains wealth of information that can be explored for various uses. One possible of such application is to use the gap data to estimate the shape of the rail, especially at the joints where rails are connected. The eddy current sensors that measure the gap between the rail and the car body produce large peaks around the joints. The suspension controller discards these peaks. Since the shape of the peaks is related to the joint, however, these peaks can be utilized to estimate the shape of the joints. In this paper, we present preliminary results on estimating the joint shape using the peak data. The results show that the approach is promising, albeit several technical difficulties to overcome.

  • This paper presents implementation of digitally speed sensorless control system for induction motor with a direct torque control(DTC) using 32bit DSP TMS320C31. The system are closed loop stator flux and torque observer for wide speed range that inputs are currents and voltages sensing of motor terminal, MRAS with rotor flux linkages for the speed turning signal, two hysteresis controllers, optimal switching look-up table and IGBT voltage source inverter. There are suggested a control algorithm and system, and given simulation and implementation results on the 2.2Kw general purposed induction motor.

  • This paper investigates a novel speed sensorless control method of I.M considering the secondary resistance identification based on the transientless torque control technique. Especially, this paper aimed at the identification of the secondary resistance simultaneously with speed estimation superposing of sinusoidal flux wave to a constant flux value. Furthermore, the secondary flux with some frequency is controlled independently on torque control. The proposed speed estimation method is derived from a motor circuit equation theoretically and also it can be conducted easily by detecting primary motor currents and primary voltage commands at every sampling time. Some numerical simulations with the assumption of using a pulse width modulation(PWM) voltage source inverter are performed to verify the proposed method.

  • This paper deals with a fault diagnosis algorithm for open faults in the switching devices of PWM inverter-fed IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) drive. The proposed diagnostic algorithm is realized in the controller using the informations of three-phase currents or reference line-to-line voltages, without requiring additional equipments for fault detection. Under switch open fault conditions, the conventional dq model used to control an AC motor cannot directly be applied for the analysis of drive system, since three-phase balanced condition does not hold. To overcome this limitation, a fault model based on the line-to-line voltages is employed for the simulation studies. For comparative performance evaluation through the experiments, the entire control system is implemented using digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320F28335. Simulations and experimental results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed diagnosis algorithm.

  • It's essential to measure electrical signals of Korea tilting train "Hanvit 200" during operation, Because we need to study operation characteristics of new electric "Hanvit 200" and we want to develop diagnosis system of main circuit of Korea tilting train "Hanvit 200". So, we measure electrical signals for developing diagnosis system of "Hanvit 200" during operation. We measure voltage and current of the primary winding of main transformer and analyze then. In result, we know that each operation mode has specific waveform and frequency. In addition, we also measure arc currents and arc voltage and we know that are of each situations has specific waveform of pattern.

  • Since HEMP has the very short rising time and propagates widespreadly with several tens of kV/m, it threatens most of systems in its cover range. Therefore, it is important to research coupling mechanism into systems and establish countermeasures for the HEMP to protect systems effectively. This paper analyzed characteristics and trends of currents to be induced at the load of a line which is located over ground with different conditions such as polarization, incidence angle, line length and height etc. We applied double exponential waveform as the HEMP shape and used BLT method to analyze the coupling route into the line. Also, we compared the simulation data of chain matrix modeling to verify reliability of BLT modeling. In the result, two data is almost agreed.

  • This paper describes the efforts to develope a PC based parameter identification system for D.C servomotors. A new identification algorithm for the D.C. servomotor parameters is developed. The algorithm is implemented on 16 bit IBM-PC/XT using the C language. The whole identification process of signal generation, measuring and parameter determination is fully automated. To minimize the errors due to the ripple component in the measured armature currents, digital averaging filter is employed. The proposed parameter correction method using the deadzone current and the time to reach the peak current resulted in excellent agreement between the measured current and the current estimated using the model.

  • In this paper, an improved modulated carrier control for a single-phase shunt active power filter(SAPF), which eliminates harmonic currents at the ac main drawn by nonlinear loads, is introduced. In contrast to conventional methods, since this control method does not need to generate a current reference for SAPF, only the ac main current is sensed instead of the load current and SAPF current. With the proposed control method, the ac main current is directly controlled to be sinusoidal and in phase with the supplied ac voltage by simply comparing the modulated carrier signal with the ac main current. The operation of the proposed SAPF is analyzed and simulation results verify its performance.

  • This paper proposes a percentage current differential relaying algorithm for bus protection using an advanced compensating algorithm of the secondary current of current transformers (CTs). The compensating algorithm estimates the core flux at the start of the first saturation based on the value of the second-difference of the secondary current. Then, it calculates the core flux and compensates distorted currents using the magnetization curve. The algorithm Is unaffected by a remanent flux. The simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm can discriminate internal faults from external faults when the CT saturates. This paper concludes by implementing the algorithm into a TMS320C6701 digital signal processor. The results of hardware implementation are also satisfactory. The proposed algorithm can improve not only stability of the relay in the case of an external fault but sensitivity of the relay in the case of an internal fault.

  • A method for the nondestructive read-out of the memory in ferroelectric thin films is demonstrated using the detection second harmonic currents introduced in the ferrolelectric capacitor as a response to an ac signal. The sign and phase of the second harmonic current depends on the polarized state +$P_r or -P_r$, The studied ferroelectric PZT thin film is found to have desirable features for the use as a memory element. This method and material seems as a promising approach for the nonvolatile memory storage.
