중년 여성 니트 슬랙스 생산 현황에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Current Manufacturing Status of Knit Slacks for the Middle Aged Women)

  • The purposes of this study are for current manufacturing status of the formal knit slacks for the middle aged women. As for the methodology, five manufacturers specializing in formal knitwear brands were subjected to the study, to examine the current manufacturing status of the knit slacks for the middle aged women, by conducting interviews and questionnaire with patterner and designer. The questionnaire items are 20 ones including general questions on manufacturing of the knit slacks, questions on materials used in manufacturing, and on sewing. The results are as followings : First, as for the manufacturing structure of the knit slacks manufacturer, all manufacturers directly manufactured knit slacks in their own factory, and the manufacturing was comprised of 10% in woven slacks and 90% in knit slacks. Second, as for the type of yarn mostly used in fabric knitting for the knit slacks, wool was used mostly for F/W, and acrylic or Saint yarn for S/S. As for the types of knit, Milano rib stitch and Half Milano rib stitch were used for wool and acrylic knitting, and plain stitch was used for Saint yarn. As for the gauge, 12G and 14G were used, whereas 7G, 12G was used for Saint yarn. Repair requests of the knit slacks were mostly on the length of the pants, such as shortening hip circumference and crotch length, or widening waist and hip area. The study shows that the size of knit slacks did not fit the body type of customers.

중년 여성 브랜드의 니트 재킷 생산 현황에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Current Manufacturing Status of Knit Jackets for Middle-Aged Women)

  • The objective of this study is to examine the current status of manufacturing formal knit jackets for middle-aged women. Fifteen manufacturers specializing in formal knitwear brands were chosen as the study subjects, and interviews and questionnaires were used with patterners and designers. The questionnaire was composed of 27 items and began with general questions, such as how the jackets were manufactured. Specific questions, such as materials and sewing method, were also considered further on. The results are as follows: First, as for the structure of the knit jacket manufacturer, seven out of fifteen manufacturers directly manufactured knit jackets in their own factory, while the manufacturing was comprised of 20% woven jackets and 80% knit jackets for all manufactures. Second, as for the type of yarn mostly used in knitting the fabric for the jackets, satin yarn and wool were used mostly for F/W with Plain and Half Milano rib stitches as the type of knit with a gauge of 12G and 7G. Third, as for the margin between the product size of the target brand and the size of the body at the time of designing a knit jacket pattern, the investigation of the actual state of manufacturing showed that the margin at the bust was B+4.8cm, the waist was W+6.9cm, and the hip girth was H+5cm. Therefore, the bust and hip girth of the knit jackets were designed to be smaller than those of the bust and hip girth lines of non-flexible woven jackets. On the contrary, the waist measurement of non-flexible woven jacket was designed to be smaller than the knit jacket. It was found that the side line of the knit jacket was expressed with greater give as compared to that of the non-flexible woven jacket.

  • Rapid development of information and communication technology is leading the digital transformation (hereinafter, DT) of various industries. At this point in rapid online transition, fashion manufacturers operating offline-oriented businesses have become highly interested in DT and artificial intelligence (hereinafter AI), which leads DT. The purpose of this study is to examine the development status and application case of AI-based digital technology developed for the fashion industry, and to examine the DT stage and AI application status of domestic fashion manufacturers. Hence, in-depth interviews were conducted with five domestic IT companies developing AI technology for the fashion industry and six domestic fashion manufacturers applying AI technology. After analyzing interviews, study results were as follows: The seven major AI technologies leading the DT of the fashion industry were fashion image recognition, trend analysis, prediction & visualization, automated fashion design generation, demand forecast & optimizing inventory, optimizing logistics, curation, and ad-tech. It was found that domestic fashion manufacturers were striving for innovative changes through DT although the DT stage varied from company to company. This study is of academic significance as it organized technologies specialized in fashion business by analyzing AI-based digitization element technologies that lead DT in the fashion industry. It is also expected to serve as basic study when DT and AI technology development are applied to the fashion field so that traditional domestic fashion manufacturers showing low growth can rise again.

Research on Environmental Design Implementation in Taiwan's Manufacturers Certified by ISO 14001

  • This research investigates the status of environmental design implementation in Taiwan's industries (Certified by ISO 14001) by employing questionnaire survey. The correlation between the degree of environmental design implementation in Taiwan's industries and the relevant entrepreneurial characteristics are examined. Twenty-six environmental design principles in four phases: design, manufacturing, sales and transportation, and disposal are used to define and assess the current status of environmental design. The data analysis methods applied to this research includes descriptive statistics, T-test, Chi-square test, and single-factor analysis of variance (ANOVA). It is evident that 21 out of the 26 environmental design principles are frequently and consistently employed by the manufacturers in Taiwan. The results indicate that environmental design implementation is becoming mature in Taiwan's industries.

  • It is very important to foresee the main stream of technology development in the future. Packaging related manufacturers in equipment and materials focused their strength on products sharing big portion of world markets. As a result, domestic supply sources for packaging materials and equipment has been increased, but the manufacturer's capital and manpower is so limited to develop high technology machinery and high functional materials. The current status of packaging infrastructures in Korea is reviewed statistically. The hot issues in packaging arena are now in wafer level packaging, 3D packaging, and ultra-thin packaging. In addition, the recent advancement in microelectronics packaging technology is also covered.

  • After reviewing the current status of hydrogen buses and hydrogen charging stations in the United States, as well as related laws and programs, it was found that the federal and state governments supported the supports of hydrogen buses and the deployment of hydrogen charging infrastructure through various policies and programs. In order to promote the spread of domestic and overseas hydrogen buses and hydrogen charging infrastructure, it is necessary to develop and apply various legal systems and programs that can provide incentives to hydrogen bus manufacturers, hydrogen charging station installers, hydrogen bus operating organizations and entities.   • Product liability refers to the liability of producers, distributors and suppliers for consumers' property losses or personal injury caused by that product. This paper conducted a survey related to product liability issues in Shenzhen City, and did an in-depth analysis of current problems. Finally, the paper puts forward corresponding suggestions for improvement of Shenzhen City product liability status.

  • This paper is concerned with characteristics of Internet retailing and manufacturer's product development strategy using Internet retailing. First, this paper reviews the current status of Internet retailing companies and explains some barriers to taking advantage of Internet retailing.   • Presented in this paper is a state-of-the-art review of VM(Virtual Manufacturing). To survive on a global competition, manufacturers must shorten the time to market for their products. To achieve this goal, many manufacturers have implmented CIM systems. VM is a new direction in the CIM system development having emphasis on enhancing the decision-making capability. VM can be defined an integrated, synthetic manufacturing environment exercised to enhance all levels of decision and control. Also, VM is the use of computer models and simulations of manufacturing processes to aid in the design and production of manufactured products. Currently, VP(Virtual Prototyping) and VF(Virtual Factory) are main theme to develop a VM. In this paper, the concept and current status of VP and VF are explained.
