The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in food and nutrient intake by smoking status among Korean. Food and nutrient intake in relation to smoking status was studied in 7,370 adults, aged 20 years and older in 1998 Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey, in which 24 hour recall method was used for dietary survey. Information of subject's smoking status was collected by interview as a part of health behavior survey. Analysis of variance was used to test the differences in food and nutrition intake among subjects following after Duncan's multiple range test among four different smoking exposure categories. Food intake of male ex-smoker was the highest in most of the food groups among the four groups of daily current smoker, occasional current smoker, ex-smoker and never smoker. There was significant differences observed in food intake of sugar, fruits, beverage, seasoning by the smoking status. It had been also observed that significantly high intake of energy from carbohydrate in non smoker compare to current smoker especially in male subjects. Fiber and vitamin C intake was also higher among non-smoker (never smoker and ex-smoker) than current smoker. In general, food and nutrient intake pattern of ex-smoker resembled those of never smoker than those of current smoker. Not likely the observation from European and American studies, fat intake was not statistically different between smoker (current) and non-smoker (ex-smoker and never smoker) among Korean.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of claim management process of general contractors in South Korea. As the claim management becomes more important nowadays, maintaining the process for claim management systematically and consistently becomes more important as well. To improve the claim management process, it is necessary to diagnose the current status of claim management process so companies establish their targets for improvement. This study develops a survey to identify the current status of claim management process that major general contractors in South Korea have. Questions in the survey are classified into four categories including entitlement check, potential claim event check, time bar check, and tasks for substantiation. By conducting a series of statistical analyses with 94 survey data collected from employees working in the general contractor companies in South Korea, this study examines and analyzes their claim management process in terms of the several categories. It is expected that the results contribute to diagnosing how practitioners maintain their claim management, which will help them establish the direction of management enhancement.

For the current study, 2,000 questionnaire sheets were printed and distributed while at the same time postal questionnaires were also conducted. The questionnaire survey was conducted July 25 through September 25, 2008, whereby 206 copies of desirable responses were secured. Analysis of the survey made it possible to grasp the overall current status and prospects of the mountain-grown ginseng business, and the level of technology required for cultivating mountaingrown ginsengs. It was learned that, with no legal and institutional arrangements now in force, no precise facts and figures concerning the total area cultivated and the quantity produced are currently available, and that the products are being marketed under the table. Under such circumstances, it is high time for the mountain-grown ginseng cultivation business to contribute to the promotion of incomes of the farming households and the generation of national wealth by developing the business into a systematic industry. This study conducted a survey on the current status of mountain-grown ginseng producers and of their production, thereby contributing to the introduction of policies for mountain-grown ginsengs.

농림부에서 실시하고 있는 농가경제조사의 현황을 살펴보고, 표본조사의 결과로서 발표되는 농가경제통계의 통계적 신뢰도를 분석하였으며 통계결과의 신뢰도를 향상시킬 수 있는 개선방향을 제시하였다. 그리고 향후 농가경제조사가 지향해야 할 방향을 제시하고 이를 실현하기 위한 몇가지 방법을 제안하였다.

This study aimed to investigate whether protestant religious facilities are maintained appropriately for people and regular inspections are conducted. As a study method, survey and site investigation were conducted. The survey questionnaire aimed to know the perception of users or responsible persons about safety management and current status of safety management systems while the site investigation aimed to inspect structural conditions by a visual inspection such as proper installation of fire protection equipment and whether regular inspection were conducted. It was found, through the inspection of the current safety management status, that the safety management related persons did not know which parts and how much they manage incorrectly, and did not know the follow-up actions in case of accidents. Therefore, it is essentially required to assign a proper person to the facilities for safety management and to have safety consciousness education. Furthermore, although more than 80% of the surveyed subjects responded that they were familiar with the way to use safety management related facilities and overall instructions, the respondent were concerned about the correspondent training for emergent circumstances.

Purpose : The purpose of this survey was to investigate the health status (food intake, exercise, smoking, drinking, stress, social support) of North Korean Refugees in Gwangju metropolitan city and Jeonnam province. Method : Data were collected by self-reported questionnaire from 61 North Korean Refugees from March 20 to April 20, 2005. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics using SPSS win 12.0 programs. Results: In current health status, 42.7% of the subjects were in poor health. In exercise status, 32.8% of the subjects practiced exercise regular basis but only 13.1% did it 3-4 times per week. In smoking status, 26.2% of the subjects were current smokers and 81% were nicotine dependent. In drinking status, 37.7% of the subjects were current drinkers, 48% were problematic and 17% were alcohol dependent. In stress status, 42.7% of the subjects were in psycho-emotional, 49.2% in physical and 19.6% in behavioral stress. The mean score of social support was 24 out of 54 points showing a little low relatively. Conclusion : These findings showed that the health conditions of Saeteomins were poor relatively. Therefore, health care programs should be started for these Saeteomins in order to improve their health status.

The author conducted a survey on the current status of neurosurgery around the world in preparation for Presidential Address at the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ISPN). The addresses and findings from the survey were presented at ISPN in 2006 and Child's Nervous System in 2007. After reviewing the current status of neurosurgery of various countries, the author would like to share this information with members of the Korean Neurosurgical Society, as well as offer a proposal to promote Korean neurosurgery around the world.

이 연구의 목적은 특성화고·마이스터고 졸업자 취업실태조사의 문제점을 파악하고 개선과제를 도출하는데 있다. 이를 위해 특성화고·마이스터고에서 학생들의 취업업무를 총괄하는 19명의 취업부장교사와 취업 개념의 타당성, 조사시기의 적절성, 조사방법의 효과성, 조사 산출물의 유용성 등을 중심으로 면대면 심층인터뷰를 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 현재의 취업실태조사에서 활용하고 있는 취업의 개념은 통상적인 기준으로 인정하기에 낮았으며, DB와 연계되지 않은 취업집계는 부정확할 가능성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 취업시기와 관련하여 현행 2월 조사는 현장학습과 취업을 구분하기 어렵고, 진학 및 취업이 결정되지 않은 시기이며 완전한 취업을 조사하는데 한계가 있었다. 셋째, 현재 교사가 수행하는 조사방법은 신뢰도와 업무효율에 있어서 한계가 있었다. 넷째, 조사산출물은 학교에서는 활용하기에 유용하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 특성화고·마이스터고 취업실태조사의 개선을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

In the present study, to explore the current status of mammals that inhabit Jindo Island, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, a survey was conducted from July 6 to July 9, 2016. Using several survey methods, such as Sherman's live trap, footprint, caves, excretions, and road-kill investigations, the mammals observed on Jindo Island were found to be from 5 orders and 9 families, including 12 species in total. Among them, three species of small mammals were Mogera wogura, Crocidura shantungensis, and Apodemus agrarius. Additionally, two legally protected species were found through excretion observations. Lutra lutra and Prionailurus bengalensis, which were designated to endangered wild animal classes I and II, respectively. The survey results can be used as a valuable resource for identifying the distribution and habitat status of mammals in the Jindo-gun area, as well as for building a database for ecosystem preservation.

According to consumer's needs of agriculture like vegetables and paprika, etc. are being various, the agricultural facilities are diversifying. In current trends of agricultural facilities, area and heigh of those is becoming bigger and higher to plant various agriculture. But the software and support for constructing the various agricultural facilities is insufficient. And understanding the current status of agricultural facilities to help farmer and users of agricultural facilities is needed. Therefore, in this study, the status of the agricultural facilities are examined by interviewing farmer and users of facilities. The results of this survey on the status of agricultural facilities are presented. Firstly, the construction cost of facilities is most important. Secondly, the materials and technology for constructing facilities is also important.
