Single gram-boundary varistors were fabricated using hydrothermal and vapor phase grown ZnO single crystals and their voltage-current relation was studied. The single crystal bonded single junction varistor showed various voltage-current relationship and different breakdown voltage of 0.24-3V. The different types of non-linear current voltage behaviors was attributed to the variation of electrical conductivity in ZnO single crystals.
In heterojunction photovoltaic devices of $ITO/TiO_2/poly$(3-alkylthiophene)/Au, the photo current was characterized at different temperatures for different alkyl chain lengths and regioregularities: regiorandom, regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene), and regioregular poly(3-dodecylthiophene). The regioregularity and alkyl chain length affected the photovoltaic characteristics due to differences in hole-carrier transportation. The drift charge mobilities of these devices were analyzed by the space-charge-limited current theory using the relation between the dark current and the bias voltage. The photocurrent in the devices based on poly(3-alkylthiophene)s decreased rapidly below the temperature at which the drift charge mobility was $10^{-5}\;cm^2/V{\cdot}s$.

We have proposed a model to describe the current-voltage characteristics of fabricated devices using the Biot-Savart's law in order to develop superconducting flux flow transistors, The measured and calculated values, including induced voltage, transresistance and current gain were investigated in relation to the parallel flow of the vortices in a single microbridge. The predictions agreed very well with measured results.

This paper presents a practical method of measuring the cutting force milling process by sensing the feed-drive servo motor current, avoiding the use of a dynamomenter. The relation between the cutting force and the servo motor currents is obtained after the feed-drive system of machining center is modelled. In order to measure the cutting force indirectly, the cutting force in the feed-drive system is regrared as a disturbance, and a disturbance estimator is designed using Kalman filter. A horizontal type machining center is used in the experimental study. A comparison is made between the cutting force measured from the dynamometer and the servo motor current.

This paper presents adaptive cutting force control in milling process using indirect cutting force measurement. The cutting forces in X, Y, and Z axes are measured indirectly from the sensing current of the feed-drive servo motor. After modelling the feed-drive system of a horizontal machining center, the relation between the cutting force and the servo motor current is analyzed. The pulsating milling forces are measured from the sensing current within the bandwidth of the servo. It is shown that indirect cutting farce measurement can be used in adaptive cutting force control. The adaptive control scheme which is globally convergent and stable is attached to a commercial CNC machining center. Cutting experiments on end milling are performed for diagonal cutting.

Grinding which is the final finishing step in the machining processes plays an important role fur precision manufacturing because it directly affect the product quality. Since the ground surface is affected by the states of grains and voids on the grinding wheel surface, the wheel should be dressed before the machined surface deteriorates over a quality limit. This paper describes a systematic approach to decide a proper dressing chance. A fabricated eddy current sensor and CCD camera are used to measure the loading on the working wheel surface and to visualize the wheel surface states respectively. The dressing chance can be properly decided through the relation between the variation of the thresholding image of the wheel and the machined surface roughness as the variation of the eddy current sensor output is greater than the detected value previously.
Ocean noise may be used for monitoring wind speed and rainfall rate on the sea surface, as well as for tracking whales' migration routes. In particular, low-frequency ocean noise has recently been of concern with relation to the behavior of marine mammals. Low-frequency ocean noise has been increasing over the past few decades due to increase of ship traffic and offshore oil industry activities. Mechanical noise such as flow noise and cable strumming noise may be induced if low-frequency ocean noise is measured by cabled traditional hydrophone in high current areas. To successfully measure low-frequency ocean noise in a shallow water environment with strong current, we developed a self-recording hydrophone. This paper describes the main configurations of the self-recording hydrophone and presents some results on measured data.

Most of the LV customer have been applied the distribution system of 3-phase four wire system because of its advantage of supplying both of 1-phase & 3-phase loads simultaneously. Due to its structural simplicity, it is more convenient for use rather than the conventional separated scheme. But uneven load distribution or unclean voltage quality has occurred various problems such as de-rating, losses increase and vibration, etc. In this paper, voltage, current and power waveform in the actual fields have measured and analyzed in relation with internationally allowable voltage unbalance limits and compared the current unbalance factor with the load unbalance factor.

In this paper, evaluation of physical properties about dielectric relaxation phenomena by the detection of the surface pressures and displacements current on the monolayer films of phospolipid monomolecular DLPC, DMPC using pressure stimulus. As a result, the changed surface pressure, displacement current and the transition forms of dipole moment of phospolipid monomolecular in area per molecular by pressure stimulus were conformed well. It was known that the monolayers by linear relationship for decision of dielectric relaxation time between compressure speed and molecule area By according to the linear relationship relation get that frictional constant, DLPC was $1.89{\times}10^{-19}$[Js] and DMPC was $0.722{\times}10^{-19}$[Js]. It is found that the phospolipid monolayer of dielectric relaxation takes a little time and depend on the molecular area.
The concept of gene therapy is to treat a disease by transferring therapeutic nucleic acids to a patient's cells. It took several decades from the basic theoretical proposal of gene therapy to the current promising treatment option for some important human diseases. The encountered adverse effects in the early clinical studies boosted the development of sophisticated vectors and elaborate clinical designs. The gene therapy is now considered to have the potential to cure many diseases that are incurable with conventional medications. By the end of 2017, about 2,600 clinical trials of gene therapy have been performed or are ongoing for a variety of diseases such as cancers, monogenic diseases, cardiovascular diseases and neurological diseases etc. Here, we present a brief introduction of technical achievement in relation to gene therapy development, and a review of the current status of global gene therapy clinical development.
