폐배터리 블랙 매스(black mass) 회수를 위한 파쇄/분급 공정 분석 및 2종 혼합물의 수학적 분쇄 모델링 (Analysis of Crushing/Classification Process for Recovery of Black Mass from Li-ion Battery and Mathematical Modeling of Mixed Materials)

  • 리튬이온 배터리의 사용은 전자기기 및 전기차 등의 생산량 증가로 인해 사용량이 크게 증가하고 있으며, 이와 맞물려 향후 폐배터리의 발생량 증가도 예상된다. 따라서 폐배터리를 구성하고 있는 여러 유가 자원 중 Ni, Co, Mn, Li 등이 함유되어 있는 양극 활물질이 매우 중요한 유가 자원으로, 이를 재활용하기 위한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 양극 활물질 회수를 위해서 일반적으로 폐배터리로부터 블랙 매스(Black mass)를 회수하고, 이를 처리하여 주요 금속 자원을 회수한다. 블랙 매스를 회수하는 공정은 폐배터리를 수거-방전-해체-파쇄-분급의 순서로 이루어지며, 본 연구에서는 블랙 매스 회수를 위한 파쇄/분급 공정을 분석하였다. 파쇄/분급 공정을 통해 다양한 공정 산물의 입도 특성을 분석하고, 이 과정에서 생산된 산물의 입도별 형상을 현미경 및 SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy)-EDS(Energy Dispersive Spectrometer)로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 블랙 매스로 회수되는 입자 중 74 ㎛의 미세한 입자들은 양극/음극 활물질이 전극으로부터 단체분리되어 존재하였지만, 100 ㎛ 이상의 입자들은 전극과 활물질이 붙어있는 상태에서 파쇄에 의해 입도가 감소되어 존재함을 확인하였다. 또한 배터리의 특징인 2종 혼합물(전극과 활물질)이 결합되어 있는 시료에 대해 파분쇄 특성을 모사할 수 있는 PBM(Population Balance Model) 을 개발하였으며, 2종 혼합물의 분쇄 상수를 도출하고 입도 분포 예측 성능을 검증하였다.

PLS 경로모형을 이용한 IT 조직의 BSC 성공요인간의 인과관계 분석 (A PLS Path Modeling Approach on the Cause-and-Effect Relationships among BSC Critical Success Factors for IT Organizations)

  • Measuring Information Technology(IT) organizations' activities have been limited to mainly measure financial indicators for a long time. However, according to the multifarious functions of Information System, a number of researches have been done for the new trends on measurement methodologies that come with financial measurement as well as new measurement methods. Especially, the researches on IT Balanced Scorecard(BSC), concept from BSC measuring IT activities have been done as well in recent years. BSC provides more advantages than only integration of non-financial measures in a performance measurement system. The core of BSC rests on the cause-and-effect relationships between measures to allow prediction of value chain performance measures to allow prediction of value chain performance measures, communication, and realization of the corporate strategy and incentive controlled actions. More recently, BSC proponents have focused on the need to tie measures together into a causal chain of performance, and to test the validity of these hypothesized effects to guide the development of strategy. Kaplan and Norton[2001] argue that one of the primary benefits of the balanced scorecard is its use in gauging the success of strategy. Norreklit[2000] insist that the cause-and-effect chain is central to the balanced scorecard. The cause-and-effect chain is also central to the IT BSC. However, prior researches on relationship between information system and enterprise strategies as well as connection between various IT performance measurement indicators are not so much studied. Ittner et al.[2003] report that 77% of all surveyed companies with an implemented BSC place no or only little interest on soundly modeled cause-and-effect relationships despite of the importance of cause-and-effect chains as an integral part of BSC. This shortcoming can be explained with one theoretical and one practical reason[Blumenberg and Hinz, 2006]. From a theoretical point of view, causalities within the BSC method and their application are only vaguely described by Kaplan and Norton. From a practical consideration, modeling corporate causalities is a complex task due to tedious data acquisition and following reliability maintenance. However, cause-and effect relationships are an essential part of BSCs because they differentiate performance measurement systems like BSCs from simple key performance indicator(KPI) lists. KPI lists present an ad-hoc collection of measures to managers but do not allow for a comprehensive view on corporate performance. Instead, performance measurement system like BSCs tries to model the relationships of the underlying value chain in cause-and-effect relationships. Therefore, to overcome the deficiencies of causal modeling in IT BSC, sound and robust causal modeling approaches are required in theory as well as in practice for offering a solution. The propose of this study is to suggest critical success factors(CSFs) and KPIs for measuring performance for IT organizations and empirically validate the casual relationships between those CSFs. For this purpose, we define four perspectives of BSC for IT organizations according to Van Grembergen's study[2000] as follows. The Future Orientation perspective represents the human and technology resources needed by IT to deliver its services. The Operational Excellence perspective represents the IT processes employed to develop and deliver the applications. The User Orientation perspective represents the user evaluation of IT. The Business Contribution perspective captures the business value of the IT investments. Each of these perspectives has to be translated into corresponding metrics and measures that assess the current situations. This study suggests 12 CSFs for IT BSC based on the previous IT BSC's studies and COBIT 4.1. These CSFs consist of 51 KPIs. We defines the cause-and-effect relationships among BSC CSFs for IT Organizations as follows. The Future Orientation perspective will have positive effects on the Operational Excellence perspective. Then the Operational Excellence perspective will have positive effects on the User Orientation perspective. Finally, the User Orientation perspective will have positive effects on the Business Contribution perspective. This research tests the validity of these hypothesized casual effects and the sub-hypothesized causal relationships. For the purpose, we used the Partial Least Squares approach to Structural Equation Modeling(or PLS Path Modeling) for analyzing multiple IT BSC CSFs. The PLS path modeling has special abilities that make it more appropriate than other techniques, such as multiple regression and LISREL, when analyzing small sample sizes. Recently the use of PLS path modeling has been gaining interests and use among IS researchers in recent years because of its ability to model latent constructs under conditions of nonormality and with small to medium sample sizes(Chin et al., 2003). The empirical results of our study using PLS path modeling show that the casual effects in IT BSC significantly exist partially in our hypotheses.

National Genetic Evaluation (System) of Hanwoo (Korean Native Cattle)

  • Hanwoo (Also known as Korean native cattle; Bos taurus coreanae) have been used for transportation and farming for a long time in South Korea. It has been about 30 yrs since Hanwoo improvement began in earnest as beef cattle for meat yield. The purpose of this study was to determine the trend of improvement as well as to estimate genetic parameters of the traits being used for seedstock selection based on the data collected from the past. Hanwoo proven bulls in South Korea are currently selected through performance and progeny tests. National Hanwoo genetic evaluations are implemented with yearling weight (YW), carcass weight (CW), eye muscle area (EMA), backfat thickness (BF) and marbling score (MS). Yearling weights and MS are used for selecting young bulls, and EMA, BF, and MS are used for selecting proven bulls. One individual per testing room was used for performance tests, and five individuals per room for progeny tests. Individuals tested were not allowed to graze pasture, but there was enough space for them to move around in the testing room. Feeds including roughages and minerals were fed ad libitum, and concentrates were provided at the rate of about 1.8% of individual weight. Overall means of the traits were $352.8{\pm}38.56$ kg, $335.09{\pm}44.61$ kg, $77.85{\pm}8.838\;cm^2$, $8.6{\pm}3.7$ mm and $3.293{\pm}1.648$ for YW, CW, EMA, BF and MS. Heritabilities estimated in this study were 0.30, 0.30, 0.42, 0.50 and 0.63 in YW, CW, EMA, BF and MS, respectively, which are similar to results from previous research. Yearling weight was 315.54 kg in 1998, and had increased to 355.06 kg in 2011, resulting in about 40 kg of improvement over 13 yrs. YW and CW have improved remarkably over the past 15 yrs. Breeding values between 1996 and 2000 decreased or did not change much, but have moved in a desirable direction since 2001. These improvements correspond with the substantial increase in use of animal models since the late 1990s in Korea. Hanwoo testing programs have practically contributed to the improvement in aspects of quality and quantity. In sum, the current selection system is good enough to accommodate circumstances where fewer sires are used on many more cows. Although progeny tests take longer and cost more, they seem to be appropriate under the circumstances of the domestic market with its higher requirement for better meat quality. Consequently, accumulative data collection, genetic evaluation model development, revision of selection indices, as well as cooperation among farms, associations, National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, universities, research institutes, and government agencies must be applied to the Hanwoo selection program. All these efforts will assist the domestic market to secure a competitive position against imported beef under Free Trade Agreement trade system and will provide farmers with higher profits as well as the public with a higher quality of beef.

농림업 중형위성 탑재체 개발을 위한 기술 사양 및 활용 분석 (Analysis on Technical Specification and Application for the Medium-Satellite Payload in Agriculture and Forestry)

  • 최근 국내외에서 폭넓게 개발되어 활용되고 있는 지구관측용 위성 탑재체에 대한 개발과 연구는 영상 활용분야에서 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 또한 위성에 광학센서 및 영상 레이더 등을 장착하여 다양한 지역의 영상을 수집하고 분석함과 동시에 기반 기술들의 비약적인 발전이 이루어졌다. 국내에서 추진 중인 차세대 중형위성 개발 사업은 국내 독자기술로 탑재체를 개발할 목표에 있고 농촌진흥청, 기상청, 환경부, 국토교통부 등에서 공동으로 활용할 계획에 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내 농림업 환경에 적합한 위성 탑재체 기술사양을 제안하기 위해 위성 영상을 활용한 농림업 연구사례를 조사하여 농림업 세부 활용 분야에 따른 위성 탑재체 기술 사양을 분석하였다. 국내 위성영상 활용 전문가를 대상으로 실시한 설문 및 자문조사 결과를 바탕으로 국내외 지구관측 농림업 활용 위성의 탑재체 개발 현황, 계획 그리고 활용 등을 분석하여 독자적인 농림업 중형위성 탑재체 개발을 위한 기술사양을 제안하였다. 또한 한반도 농경지를 대상으로 위성 모의 운용실험 수행을 통해 위성 탑재체의 관측 성능을 검증하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 결과는 향후 농림업 중형위성 탑재체 개발에 있어 적합한 사양을 제공하고 사용자들이 위성영상을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 방향으로서 기술적 기초 정보로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

3차원기법을 이용한 폐기물매립지 정보관리시스템 구축 연구 (Information Management System of Solid Waste Landfill based on 3 Dimensional Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 폐기물매립지 운영자, 관계 공무원 및 지역주민들에게 폐기물매립에 관한 정보 제공은 물론 실시간으로 폐기물매립지의 운영 및 관리를 최적화할 수 있는 매립 정보관리 시스템을 개발하였다. 매립 정보관리 시스템은 두 개의 시스템 (폐기물 매립이력 관리 시스템 및 매립 진척상황 관리 시스템)로 구성되어 있다. 자동화된 RFID / LPR 방식에 의한 고형 폐기물 매립이력 관리 시스템은 폐기물 수거 차량과 반입폐기물의 정보를 관리하며, 또한 폐기물매립지 외각에 설치된 추적 카메라를 이용하여 폐기물의 매립위치 및 매립시간 등의 정보를 3차원으로 DB화하여 향후 매립폐기물의 자원화 및 사후토지 이용 시 필요한 매립이력을 제공할 수 있도록 하였다. 매립진척상황 정보관리 시스템은 레이저 스캐너를 이용하여 실시간으로 매립지 부피 및 용량을 3차원으로 관리하여 매립진척상황을 실시간으로 산정할 수 있도록 하여 향후 매립지 잔여용량 분석을 통한 수요예측이 가능하도록 하였다.

핵종 이온 광물화 처리기술의 APR 1400 발전소 액체방사성폐기물관리계통 적용 위치에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Application of Ion Crystallization Technology to the APR 1400 Liquid Waste Management System)

  • APR 1400 액체방사성폐기물관리계통 효율성 증가와 계통의 성능 개선을 위한 방안으로 핵종 이온 광물화 처리기술을 적용하는 것을 고려하였다. 핵종 이온 광물화 처리기술은 현재까지 발전소에 실제적으로 적용되진 않았지만 원자력발전소의 액체방사성폐기물에 존재하는 다양한 핵종 이온을 최소 95% 이상 선택적으로 제거 가능 하다는 것을 실험적으로 증명한 바 있다. 본 논문은 핵종 이온 광물화 처리기술의 제염율을 반영하여 기존 설계에 적용 가능성을 확인하였으며, 기존 설계를 개선할 수 있는 방안을 마련하였다. 핵종 이온 광물화 처리기술의 제염 특성과 기존의 액체방사성폐기물관리계통 설계 및 운전 경험을 고려하여 최적의 적용 위치를 결정하였다. 원자력발전 운영에 따라 발생하는 액체방사성물질이 수집되는 수집탱크에 핵종 이온 광물화 처리기술을 적용하는 것이 기존 설계의 영향이 가장 적을 것이며, 개선 효과도 가장 큰 것으로 해석되었다. 핵종 이온 광물화 처리기술이 현재의 APR 1400 발전소 또는 신규 원전에 적용될 경우 액체방사성폐기물관리계통의 운전 효율성 증가와 계통의 성능 개선이 기대된다.

  • The Highway Capacity Manual specifies procedures for evaluating intersection performance in terms of delay per vehicle. What is lacking in the current methodology is a comparable quantitative procedure for ass~ssing the safety-based level of service provided to motorists. The objective of the research described herein was to develop a computational procedure for evaluating the safety-based level of service of signalized intersections based on the relative hazard of alternative intersection designs and signal timing plans. Conflict opportunity models were developed for those crossing, diverging, and stopping maneuvers which are associated with left-turn and rear-end accidents. Safety¬based level-of-service criteria were then developed based on the distribution of conflict opportunities computed from the developed models. A case study evaluation of the level of service analysis methodology revealed that the developed safety-based criteria were not as sensitive to changes in prevailing traffic, roadway, and signal timing conditions as the traditional delay-based measure. However, the methodology did permit a quantitative assessment of the trade-off between delay reduction and safety improvement. The Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) specifies procedures for evaluating intersection performance in terms of a wide variety of prevailing conditions such as traffic composition, intersection geometry, traffic volumes, and signal timing (1). At the present time, however, performance is only measured in terms of delay per vehicle. This is a parameter which is widely accepted as a meaningful and useful indicator of the efficiency with which an intersection is serving traffic needs. What is lacking in the current methodology is a comparable quantitative procedure for assessing the safety-based level of service provided to motorists. For example, it is well¬known that the change from permissive to protected left-turn phasing can reduce left-turn accident frequency. However, the HCM only permits a quantitative assessment of the impact of this alternative phasing arrangement on vehicle delay. It is left to the engineer or planner to subjectively judge the level of safety benefits, and to evaluate the trade-off between the efficiency and safety consequences of the alternative phasing plans. Numerous examples of other geometric design and signal timing improvements could also be given. At present, the principal methods available to the practitioner for evaluating the relative safety at signalized intersections are: a) the application of engineering judgement, b) accident analyses, and c) traffic conflicts analysis. Reliance on engineering judgement has obvious limitations, especially when placed in the context of the elaborate HCM procedures for calculating delay. Accident analyses generally require some type of before-after comparison, either for the case study intersection or for a large set of similar intersections. In e.ither situation, there are problems associated with compensating for regression-to-the-mean phenomena (2), as well as obtaining an adequate sample size. Research has also pointed to potential bias caused by the way in which exposure to accidents is measured (3, 4). Because of the problems associated with traditional accident analyses, some have promoted the use of tqe traffic conflicts technique (5). However, this procedure also has shortcomings in that it.requires extensive field data collection and trained observers to identify the different types of conflicts occurring in the field. The objective of the research described herein was to develop a computational procedure for evaluating the safety-based level of service of signalized intersections that would be compatible and consistent with that presently found in the HCM for evaluating efficiency-based level of service as measured by delay per vehicle (6). The intent was not to develop a new set of accident prediction models, but to design a methodology to quantitatively predict the relative hazard of alternative intersection designs and signal timing plans.

Performances and Electrical Properties of Vertically Aligned Nanorod Perovskite Solar Cell

  • Organolead halide perovskite have attracted much attention over the past three years as the third generation photovoltaic due to simple fabrication process via solution process and their great photovoltaic properties. Many structures such as mesoporous scaffold, planar heterojunction or 1-D TiO2 or ZnO nanorod array structures have been studied to enhance performances. And the photovoltaic performances and carrier transport properties were studied depending on the cell structures and shape of perovskite film. For example, the perovskite cell based on TiO2/ZnO nanorod electron transport materials showed higher electron mobility than the mesoporous structured semiconductor layer due to 1-D direct pathway for electron transport. However, the reason for enhanced performance was not fully understood whether either the shape of perovskite or the structure of TiO2/ZnO nanorod scaffold play a dominant role. In this regard, for a clear understanding of the shape/structure of perovskite layer, we applied anodized aluminum oxide material which is good candidate as the inactive scaffold that does not influence the charge transport. We fabricated vertical one dimensional (1-D) nanostructured methylammonium lead mixed halide perovskite (CH3NH3PbI3-xClx) solar cell by infiltrating perovskite in the pore of anodized aluminum oxide (AAO). AAO template, one of the common nanostructured materials with one dimensional pore and controllable pore diameters, was successfully fabricated by anodizing and widening of the thermally evaporated Al film on the compact TiO2 layer. Using AAO as a scaffold for perovskite, we obtained 1-D shaped perovskite absorber, and over 15% photo conversion efficiency was obtained. I-V measurement, photoluminescence, impedance, and time-limited current collection were performed to determine vertically arrayed 1-D perovskite solar cells shaped in comparison with planar heterojunction and mesoporous alumina structured solar cells. Our findings lead to reveal the influence of the shape of perovskite layer on photoelectrical properties.

LED 및 자이로센서를 이용한 다기능 전자측량기준점 프로토타입 시스템의 성능비교에 관한 연구 (A Study on Performance Comparison of Multipurpose Function Electronic Measurement Reference Station Prototype System using LED and Gyro Sensor)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존에 매설된 기준점의 문제점을 분석 및 보완하기 위해서 경관 조명, 실시간 데이터 수집, 주변 지각변동의 모니터링이 가능한 LED 및 자이로센서 기반의 다기능 전자측량기준점 프로토타입 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템의 H/W는 지각변동 감지를 위해서 자이로센서모듈을 탑재하고, 위치정보를 처리하기 위한 GPS모듈, 전자측량기준점의 주변 환경 데이터를 처리하기 위한 환경 센서 모듈을 이용하여 센서값을 데이터화하고 수집된 데이터를 CDMA 무선 통신으로 서버로 전송이 가능하도록 하였다. 아울러 전자측량 기준점의 H/W 활용을 높이기 위해 전자측량기준점 H/W의 외관에 LED 및 QR코드, RFID, 태양광모듈을 적용시켜 시스템 관리 및 사후 활용성 높이고자 한다. 마지막으로 본 논문에서 제안한 다기능 전자측량기준점에 다양한 기능이 포함되어 있어 안정적인 전력 공급을 위한 전류량 평가를 실시하였고, 측정 결과 전력 소실률이 2.29%로 비교적 안정적인 운영이 가능한 결과를 확인하였다. 그리고 제안된 전자측량기준점의 우수성을 평가하기 위해 기존에 연구된 전자측량기준점 시스템과의 정성적인 비교평가를 실시하였다.

수로정보 표준기술 운용을 위한 등록소 설계 연구 (Study of Registry Designing for the Hydrographic Data Standard Technology Operation)

  • 국제수로기구(IHO)는 항해안전과 해양환경보호를 위한 적절하고 효율적인 수로 데이터 및 정보사용을 지원하기 위해, 전자 수로 데이터를 위한 S-100 표준을 개발하였다. 이전 모델인 S-57의 경우, 차세대 전자해도(ENC) 생산 조건의 바탕이 되기에는 비효율적이라고 판단되었다. S-100 표준의 가장 핵심적인 특징은 표준화 등록소와 그것을 이루고 있는 등록부의 활용이다. 이 온라인 등록소는 편리하게 실제 항해 시스템에 적용될 수 있는 세계 공통의 표준을 제공한다. 현재는 IHO가 유일한 등록소를 소유하고 있으며, 도메인 전문가들에게 접근이 허용되고 있다. 그러나 S-100 표준이 국제기구에 의해 운영되는 국제 표준인 만큼, 필요 시 즉각적인 데이터의 수정 및 갱신이 불가능하고 시간 소요가 많다. 따라서 국내 사용자와 항해자들의 항해 안전성을 고려하여, 독자적인 표준기술개발을 위한 개별적인 등록소가 국내에도 자체적으로 필요하다고 판단하였다. 이 연구는 IHO에서 편찬된 S-99를 바탕으로 하여, 정의 및 수로데이터를 제공하는 목적에 부합하는 웹사이트 디자인을 통해 등록소를 설계하였다.
