  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of constructivist instruction on science inquiry skills and science-related attitudes, and to investigate the students' responses to the lesson using constructivist instruction. In this study, 108 students of sixth graders from four classes were intentionally selected from two elementary schools located in Gyungsan city, Kyungsangbukdo. Two classes of 54 students were used by the constructivist teaching program and the other two classes were handled by the traditional teaching program. Two teachers who have twenty years' careers guided the program prepared by researcher to the students and this examination was conducted for 8 weeks (total 20 class hours). In pretest and posttest, both groups were tested in the science inquiry skills and science-related attitudes. An interview and questionnaire for the students analyzed the responses about the constructivist instruction. The major results of this study are as follows: First, in science inquiry skills test, there was no statistical significance between the score of the experimental group and that of the comparative group(p>.05). The ability of formulating problem in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the comparative group at 0.05 level. In pretest and posttest, the experimental group was statistically significant on classifying, formulating problem, interpreting data, while the comparative group was not significant on those. Second, we can find that the experimental group has more positive effect on forming the desirable science-related attitudes than the comparative group(p<.05). Especially, experimental group is significantly higher the attitudes about the science curriculum than the comparative group at 0.05 level Third, constructivist instruction has more affirmative tendency of the students' learning activity. Constructivist instruction generated much interest and curiosity about science for the students, and this method prompted students' expression and discussion.

  • Science-related affective domain is considered as a very important domain for achieving students' scientific literacy. Most science educational objectives include some objectives about affective domain such as scientific attitudes, values, curiosity, interests and concerns about nature and science. In this research, the evaluation framework and items of science-related affective domain were developed. The evaluation framework consists of three main categories such as cognition, interest and scientific attitudes and 16 subcategories. The validity of the evaluation framework is tested by ten science educators. Forty-eight items are selected among item pool by considering item response analysis and item-test correlation coefficient. The Cronbach ${\alpha}$ of the tests is 0.83(cognition and interest) and 0.86(scientific attitudes). The results of the test are as follows. First, boys got higher scores than girls. • The purpose of this study is to understand the 'search' experiences of adoptive families. To understand their experiences in searching for birth families, the researchers made contacts with adoptive families who had tried the search before, got informed consents from them, and took in-depth interview with each family. The qualitative case study approach was taken to analyze the data collected. Data collected from five adoptive families were employed for within-case analysis and cross-case analysis. The themes emerged from cross-case analysis were 'the awareness of being adopted', 'curiosity explosion', 'the anxious waiting', 'the moment the truth was found', 'Indeed, I'm a real mom', and 'Then, there was a silence'. Based on the results of the study, the policy and practical guidelines to support the search of adoptive families were suggested. Also, the suggestions for the following studies were made to obtain more abundant information beyond the limitations of the study.

  • This is a study on the origin of fashion imaging. First of all, 1 looked into the history of French fashion printmaking from late 16th century to early 19th century. Then studied the changes in the characteristics of context and form over the different periods and summarized each concept. At the same time, I looked into the process of fashion magazine evolving from fashion printmaking. In order to find out how fashion printmaking dealt with the characteristics of fashion media, 1 researched the commercial environment of fashion printmaking and reorganized the methodology of its media's role. Such analysis and results helped to reach a definition on how to regulate fashion printmaking. Fashion imaging was sparked by a small curiosity. As people began to be rage over new things, it came to introduce the fashion leaders of the public combined with the attributes of trend. At times when changes were so big that they were unpredictable, it itself became a fashion leader. Then a fashion creator emerges and it's function changes to that of a communication media. Moreover, the regular issuance of fashion printmaking implemented the concept of trend cycle and fashion imaging completely fulfilled the conditions of a communication media. The massive increase in the production of fashion printmaking and magazine contributed to the spread of fashion and the diffusion of printmaking lead to mutual complementation and synergy necessitated by fashion. Thus, the democratization of fashion and the commercialization of printmaking art occurred at the same time.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the instrument for scientific attitudes in school, home and social situations and select the important elements of scientific attitudes. Looking into the elements of scientific attitudes in national and international research, the important elements of scientific attitudes students should have were selected as follows: Openness, objectivity, continuousness, criticalness, prudence, volunteerism, honesty, preparedness, collaboration, and curiosity. To develop the valid instrument of scientific attitudes, we moved forward with the step of making preliminary questions, the judgment step, and the validation examination step. Based on the elements of scientific attitudes and school, family, and social situations, the instrument of the scientific attitudes was developed. We discovered that Middle school students' scientific attitudes, according to their grade levels, appear to be significantly lower than those in the 7th graders and 9th graders. The scientific attitudes in school, home and social situation appeared high in order of society, home, and school. It appeared that there were no differences by gender.

  • This study has attempted to examine the socio-cultural implications of the using form and environment of smart phone and applications from the viewpoint of media-ecology studies. In so doing, this paper analysed the types of applications in SKT's application market T-store and in-depth interview on smart phone users. According to the study results, smart phone users organize mobile culture with individual curiosity and a desire for novelty depending on their personal tendencies and interest. Also, they use smart phone and applications as a sort of new complex mobile media and prescribe the role of smart phone and applications as their second body replacing themselves in a space using mobile. It means that new paradigm for a space using mobile could be formed by having created new space for communication through the mobile media.

  • Concentration is one of the most important factor in learning ability. It is important to improve concentration for learning ability. Most digital kids have been accustomed to addictive media like games since childhood, so traditional methods of teaching and learning has been difficult to give interests for them. Therefore introducing a new teaching methods was inevitable for students with low concentration. This is an experiment to prove the hypothesis that the concentration training by certain serious game would be helpful for improving students' concentration. Not only some serious games but also meditation by music was effective to improve concentration in the experiment. Average people is hard to immerge in meditation. but some serious games involve fun factors like curiosity, challenges, competitions and rewards. Games are not more negative to young people, will be helpful to society in various forms.
