  • It is rare that the dwelling buildings designated as cultural assets owing to the demands of the rapid-changing times and their residences are conserved as their original shapes, though the extent varies. Meanwhile, there has been a continuous effort to preserve and take over our traditional dwelling culture. Yet, the effects were not tangible because the viewpoints are different between the conservation promoters and related residents-officials-experts and because the conservation method is not decided in advance. Thus, in conserving the traditional dwelling culture containing the history of human life, this study tries to find out the reasonable ways for conserving traditional residence based on the consciousness research of citizens on conserving and utilizing the cultural assets. Furthermore this study also tries to suggest to contemporaries - who should live side by side with the historic cultural assets - what attitude they should have. On the basis of above survey, the objective of this study is said to consist in presenting the directions - what efforts are needed - for the more active and participant conservation.

  • Urban development-related growth in recent years has become a qualitative growth based on regional identity, rather than a hardware-based growth. For this purpose, strategic approaches to the value of cultural assets of the city are required for competitiveness of the city. In this paper, I seek a model for urban regeneration and regional development through empirical case studies of cultural assets and utilize the 'Seoul Fairy Tale Festival' in terms of strengthening regional competitiveness. By analyzing detailed elements of the 'Seoul Fairy Tale Festival' case, the hardware infrastructure, software and governance structures, diverse contentsware, ecosystem characteristics centered on the humanware, and circular structure was studied. As a feature of cultural assets, combined with the management of physical assets and operations of several programs, was the basis for creating a synergy effect of creating an identity for the region. In addition, it was confirmed the possibility of a regional-rehabilitation type of urban regeneration that is based on the expansion of existing facilities, and a regional-innovation type of urban regeneration that is based on a fusion of characteristics. This analysis is significant in terms of the possibility of large urban regeneration based on cultural assets associated with the festival, as well as physical assets and by combining various governance stakeholders for the festival, it can be concluded that it provided an indigenous virtuous cycle.

  • In this study, we have acquired the related data of the important culture assets in this country by using close range photogrammetry and GSIS. Also, we have generated database of curtural assets and we have been developing culture assets information system to manage the data effectively. As result of this study, we could facilely operate this system by converting dulistic management to unitary. Therefore, we will act of a part of rearing for effect of many important cultural properties and the domestic information industry from this study.

  • Terrestrial photogrammetry is widely used for the observation of cultural assets due to its effects such as increased accuracy and cost saving. As the damage of cultural assets tends to increase with time, it is essential that the standard of value evaluation and the preservation methods be established. The terrestrial photogrammetry proves to be an excellent tool for this purpose. This study aims to classify the objects measured by terrestrial photogrammetry according to the historical period. The assets to be included are not only national treasures but also obscure cultural assets. This study also aims to discover the genuine value and originality of the asset by analysis of formative ratio. As the result of this study, it is proved that the stone pagodas bave been build by characteristic formative ratio, which varies according historical period. It is anticipated that the results of this study will be applied in deriving the historical periods of discovered stone pagodas as well as in preserving existing cultural assets.

  • The resistance for atmospheric corrosion of the conventional 5 epoxy resins (Araldite rapid, Araldite AW 106, Araldite SV 427, Devcon, and CDK), those were used to restoration of the iron relics, were investigated in this study. Temperature, UV light, and water were chosen for the factors of the atmospheric corrosion. The drastic voluminous changes of the epoxy resins were found at the temperature range between $40^{\circ}C$ and $70^{\circ}C$ After UV exposure, the colors of the epoxy resins were severely changed. In case of the indoor exposure the chroma value(${\Delta}E$) of the resins were less than 2, which showed a little changes of the colors. The result of the water contact angle test was Araldite rapid>AW 106>Devcon>SV 427>CDK. Although the contact angles of the resins were reduced by UV exposure, SV 427 was stable comparatively.
